Appli Driver

An Appli Driver (アプリドライヴァー, Apuri Doraivā) (dub: App Driver[1]) is a human that owns an Appli Drive. They can become a Buddy by pairing with an Appmon. Using the Appli Drive, they can perceive and access AR-Fields, communicate with Appmon, engage in battles, and use functions such as AppLink and AppGattai.

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
Appli Drivers are chosen by Minerva, who grants them an Appli Drive and a Buddy Appmon. Most Appli Drivers use the standard Appli Drive, although upgraded models such as the Appli Drive DUO are introduced later in the series.
Manga[edit]

As stated by Shinkai Denemon, all Appli Drivers but one were chosen by Minerva. They were then all given Appli Drives through various means, the only of which that's seen on the manga is Shinkai Haru who obtained his from a vending machine. The Appli Drives then bound to them after they answered an unique question given to each of them. The one exception to this rule is Unryuji Knight, who was chosen by Leviathan instead. Regardless, they all then paired with a Buddy Appmon.
Video Games[edit]
Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
Unlike in other media, a great amount of Appli Drivers exist, coming from at least two different areas in Japan (Hifumigaoka and Fujimizaka) although their existance (as well as that of Appmon in general) is kept secret from the general masses. Anyone who obtains an Appli Drive (which works identically to other media) becomes an Appli Driver and is now considered to be part of a game where they all compete against each other. Said competition is centered in the Cyber Arena, hosted by MCmon, where they can enter the Starter GP and High-End GP tournaments, where the Appli Drivers have their Appmon fight against each other in successive matches. The strongest of all Appli Drivers is known as the Champion.
Appli Drivers are given two separate Ranks, connected to the two types of GP:
- A metal-based Rank. Appli Drivers obtain this Rank after entering the Starter GP (Beginner) and increase it by entering higher designations of the Starter GP. This Rank starts at Bronze and caps at Gold. It has no bearing on the story of the game, other than Kazuki/Itsuki being forced to enter the Starter GP (Beginner) at the beginning of the game.
- A letter-based Rank. Appli Drivers obtain this Rank after entering the High-End GP (F-Rank) and increase it by defeating the Rank Master of each respective Rank. This Rank starts at F and ends at S, though Rank Masters exist only up to Rank A. Increasing this Rank is a major part of the game's story, as Kazuki/Itsuki chases the higher-ranked Naoto.

Appli Driver is a trait introduced in BT-21 World Convergence. It is given to Tamer Cards that were Appli Drivers in Digimon Universe Appli Monsters.
