Ai is Haru's childhood friend and classmate. She is kind, calm, and helpful.
Etymology[edit]
The name Ai uses the kanji for "Asia" (亜) and "garment" (衣). Likely from "AI". The surname Kashiki means "evergreen oak tree".

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
Ai was born in 2003 and lives in Tokyo's Fujimizaka neighborhood. Her family has run the Kashinoki bookstore since her great-grandfather's time, and she often helps out her father. The bookstore usually serves as a hangout for her friends. In 2016, Ai attended Fujimizaka Middle School (Class 1-C) along with Haru, Yujin, and Watson.
Ai discovered the existence of Appmon around Christmas that year, when Calendamon was infected with the L-Virus and erased December 24th and 25th from all digital calendars. Ai was very sad, and Gatchmon showed up, promising to fix the situation. When Calendamon was defeated, everything returned to normal, and Christmas could be celebrated as usual. Ai decided to make an unused room in the basement available to Haru and her friends, which became their secret base.
In April, Ai began her second year of middle school. Yujin and Offmon join the team, but Offmon is initially terrified of the others, and Ai is the only one who manages to temporarily calm him down, preventing him from destroying the secret base.
When Leviathan materializes in the Real World and launches the program to transform humanity into applications, Ai is in the library with her father, and both are reduced to a bundle of data and sent to the Dark Web. After the end of Leviathan, Ai and all other humans return to normal.
