Takeru is a friend and classmate of Haru, Ai, and Yujin, and a fan of Eri. Everyone calls him Watson. He loves technology, is unrivaled in video games, and is always up-to-date on all the latest developments in the world of IT. For this reason, he often finds himself unknowingly involved in incidents involving Appmon infected with the L-Virus.

His nickname "Watson" may be a reference to IBM Watson.

Digimon Universe Appli Monsters[edit]
Watson was born in 2003 and lives in Tokyo's Fujimizaka district. In 2016, he attended the local middle school (Class 1-C); he also attended Success Academy, a preparatory school.
On October 7th, he decided to follow the route indicated by his phone's navigation system to return home, but Navimon sent him into an alley where he was attacked by a dog. The following week, he fell victim again to an infected Appmon, Ropuremon, who erased the player data of Fantasy Saga, an online role-playing game. Watson is ranked 4th in the world and panics when he discovers that his character has reverted to Level 1. The situation is quickly resolved thanks to Haru and Gatchmon.
In January, Puzzlemon creates new problems for Watson, who urgently needs to go to the bathroom but can't open the door without first solving a puzzle. On February 14th, Waffle OS 11, a new smartphone operating system, is released, and Watson immediately downloads it. However, Mienumon and the Virusmon hack into the Waffle Corp server and infect it. Following the incident, Watson and millions of other users switch to L·OS, the operating system developed by L-Corp.
In April, Watson begins his second year of middle school. One day, he sees Gatchmon, Dokamon, and Musimon at the park and is convinced he's discovered "unidentified animals," but he can't take a clear enough photo. During the summer, Uratekumon hypnotizes video game characters and sends them after Bootmon. One of the victims is Schneider, Watson's character in Fantasy Saga, who is attacked by Agumon and returned to his world. A few days later, Watson and Kenta accompany Koki to retrieve a forgotten math book from school. However, Bootmon is hiding in the classrooms, unwittingly terrorizing them by suddenly activating all computers and phones.
When Leviathan materializes in the Real World and launches the program to transform humanity into applications, Watson is reduced to a bundle of data and sent to the Dark Web. After the end of Leviathan, Watson and all the other humans return to normal, but they don't know who saved them.
