i’m not even going to rate this… i loved it at first half the book, meeting Eddie and Roland and Eddie interacting with each other. But when we meet Si’m not even going to rate this… i loved it at first half the book, meeting Eddie and Roland and Eddie interacting with each other. But when we meet Susannah… like that made me so uncomfortable, Stephen King cannot wrote black characters at all and like what was the point of using the N word with the hard R so many times?? like gotdamn at one point he said it 3 times in one sentence?? Why? also the romance between Eddie and Susannah was so bleh? i want to root for them but romance clearly isn’t Stephen King’s strong suit either. ...more

this was the X-Men’s “New Mutants” meets Stranger Things (specifically season 2). I really loved this book, especially the kids. I love things with superpowers so this was very interesting. it wasn’t horror, it was more sci-fi but as i’m reading stephen king i’m learning that he isn’t just a horror author, he pretty much dabbles in every genre. I would like to see this as a movie because the characters were so great and the plot was amazing. a lot of his fans don’t like how he puts his thoughts on politics in this book but i didn’t mind. not even going to touch on his use of the n word only 5 chapters in. ...more

i was pretty much enjoying this in the beginning but then i ended up getting bored because i feel like King can tend to focus on things that he doesn’t really need to focus on. i liked that this was weird and i actually did like these group of characters. it felt like a slasher movie how there sometimes will be an unlikely group of people you end up loving. i do wish we learned more about Tak because i thought that was pretty cool. this book touches on religion a lot and i actually kind of like when Stephen King does that in his novels. ALSO.. this book mentions Tommyknockers!! i cant wait to read that omg!!...more
