y’all… i have so much to say yet i cannot figure how to put it into words? first of all i took notes reading this book just because i wanted to see ify’all… i have so much to say yet i cannot figure how to put it into words? first of all i took notes reading this book just because i wanted to see if i could be on my detective shit and it was so much fun, i think it helped with my enjoyment of the book. that and i’ve read 3 of the shakespeare plays that they did (macbeth being my fav). i loved the characters and the story itself. i love how this was basically a shakespeare novel, like the tragedy of it all… a lot of shakespeare retellings usually just use him as inspiration but no this bitch really said i’m going to be in my shakespeare bag and she ate! i need her to write another book and quickly! i enjoyed the friend group so much. it’s so hard for me to connect to found families that are already established but the author did such an amazing job at showing their dynamic’s individually and together. it was just so good and the ending? omg ...more
i need more superhero/supervillain books and i need more books by this author specifically. before i get started i jus“i am a fucking delicate flower”
i need more superhero/supervillain books and i need more books by this author specifically. before i get started i just want to say that i listened to this via audiobook and i HATEDDD the authors narration for jane, the voice she used made me hate her i get what she was trying to do but she shouldn’t have.
anywaysssss i loveddd this book. THIS BOOK INTRODUCED ME TO A NEW TROPE I DIDNT EVEN KNOW I LOVED AND I CANT EVEN SAY IT BC SPOILERS. the villain? immaculate, the characters? immaculate, the found family vibes? immaculate!! i really really wish this was a series it was sooo good. you can tell this author has a love for superhero movies and mostly villains. as a lover of all superhero movies especially dc villains i’m just absolutely obsessed with this book.
it was a bit hard to get into the book in the first chapter but once i was into it i was in!!! i know this is adult and Renegades is YA but like this is what i wanted from that series!! it was a bit corny to be but that’s because it’s for YA or people who enjoy that kind of YA but this!! this is for me!
the body horror towards the end? chefs kiss, yeah Natalie you got an autobuy outta me girl. i really hope the author releases more books because this really just did it for me. ...more
i’ll be honest, a big reason i didn’t want to pick up this book is because i didn’t care to read about white suburban mom’s and their book clubs but hi’ll be honest, a big reason i didn’t want to pick up this book is because i didn’t care to read about white suburban mom’s and their book clubs but honestly.. i do care. if this book was just the book club and no vampires i would’ve ate it up just the same. i liked the characters and i like how the vampire were slowly introduced and everything came together at the end. if you’re going to read the book read the authors note in the beginning!! it really gave me a better perspective of the moms in this book. ...more

I absolutelOkay, it’s nearly 5am and i just finished this book, this isn’t my first Talia Hibbert book but this is the first that i’ve rated 5 stars. I absolutely loved this book, it had enemies to lovers excellence! Also let’s talk about the amazing family dynamics and friendship dynamics that this book shows. I knew when reading this i would love it just by how well her relationship with her family was shown, most of my favorite books have the best family relationships. The smut scenes were so steamy that i had to put the book down a few times (in a good way) if i could blush i definitely would be reading those scenes.
I also really enjoyed the ending because with most contemporary romances they end with characters being married, getting proposed to or having a kid and this ending had none of that which made me grateful. There’s nothing wrong with that plot i just think it’s done in mostly ever romance so the fact that it wasn’t in this one just sealed the deal for me!
I liked the illness part of the book and though i don’t have the illness so i can’t say if it was represented well or not, i can say that it still taught me a ton. This book was so amazing and i absolutely can not wait for the sequel next summer. I also can’t wait for this book to officially come out because i’ll definitely be buying multiple copy so i can read it over and over again. ...more

I absolutely loved it. There has been a lot of complaints over how short it is but honestly Holly Black wasted no time with this, i feel like she put so many connected plot lines into this book that wrapped up so well in the end, even things from the previous two books. This gave me so many Jude Cardan feels i really can’t even express how much i love them together. Also, let’s not forget Holly’s ability to make ME a taryn anti actually like her character?? there was so many surprises and things i loved about this book but i don’t want to spoil anything so i’ll be doing a spoiler and spoiler free review of this baby!! I really hope Holly Black gives us more Jude Cardan or a book set in Elfame lol i’m so obsessed with this world.

All tiny problems aside i still loved this book, i loved the characters, i loved the relationships and relationships, i loved Peter and most importantly i loved the game of Assassin that they played. It’s probably my favorite aspect of this book. So i guess thinking more on this, I’d give it 5 stars. ...more
