It is a cute storyline with the FMC being oblivious to the MMC's longtime crush on her. I love the MMC's energy. Not so much golden retriever, but he's willing to do just about anything for her.

Other than having an inkling on the tropes, I didn't have a clue what it was about. I'm pretty happy that I did because WHOA!
Dark western? Uhm yes please! I was searching for something new to drag me out of my book doldrums and this definitely did the thing.
I grew up around cowboys. I KNOW they can be spicy spicy. You just gotta find the right one. I'm telling you that Ramsey is the right one with extra credit. He will make YOU the dinner and dessert and you won't have enough energy left to say thank you.
Hazel is something else. She seriously reminds me of Beth Dutton in ways. She does have some measurable character growth in this book and I really appreciated that.
This series is top of my watch list. I can't wait to see where it goes.
I'm not okay. Of course, I expected it. Hazel knows just the right character traits and plot lines to hook me. I keep coming back for more because it I'm not okay. Of course, I expected it. Falling in Reverse is no different, although, the cliffie that I was dangling off of has left me a little growly. *smirk* That being said, book two better hurry up and get here because a girl can only take so much anticipation!
This book is giving a lot of Fast & Furious vibes (the OG!) and a little maybe West Side Story? There's a lot of push and pull between rival gangs, so I'm trying to articulate that into something a fellow reader would grab onto. A whole lot of spice, tattoos, danger, and even more badassery from the FMC.
Bay is definitely one of those ladies that many of us would love to be. Her spine is made of titanium, I swear. She has bigger coconuts than most men. Love the interaction between Bay and Levi. It's just different when a girl has a guy BFF.
The three MMCs couldn't be more different if they tried. Cairo definitely has that broody bad boy thing going on. Torin is just full-on adrenaline. Last but definitely not least is the cinnamon roll-golden retriever Reeve.
I highly recommend this read! Be sure to check your CW/TW before diving in....more

First of all, the meet cute was everything. Halloween, silly costumes, a guitar. I mean...seriously! I swooned hard.
Our FMC, Penelope, is such a strong character. She stole my heart immediately and made me wish I could be her. Her feisty attitude and willingness to give as good as she gets kept me grinning like a crazy person nearly the whole book.
MMC Tate has some serious Golden Retriever energy. The heart-eyes that man inspires! ~swoon~
The laughs are riotous throughout the book as both Penelope and Tate engage in a serious prank war just because. However, keep the tissues handy because there's a serious left turn that will have you sobbing like I did.
I loved the author's note at the end. It was so informative and I appreciated the extra information.

I love a FTL trope and Wild Crush delivered big time. Is there such a thing as FTL with a d side of white knight? Because that's definitely how I'd describe Rainer. He sure swooped in and rescued Maeve without a second thought.
This is a definite recommended read/listen from me!

The FMC, Val, has had a good run of bad luck recently and finds herself back home in Wilder Valley where she swore that she would never return. I found her to be totally relatable with her second guessing herself due to her recent past and always keeping one foot out the door.
The MMC, Ryan, is a newly single dad with 3 kiddos and is not really navigating his new role all too well. Being overwhelmed with a bit more than he can handle, he hires Val as a "nanny" who isn't a nanny.
Both characters are relatable on several levels and not too unrealistic. Ryan's kids are absolutely true to life in their attitudes and actions. They sure make for some angst and a lot of comedic relief throughout the story.
While this is a second chance romance, I'd also throw in a romcom too because there were certainly some laugh out loud moments. It's also a breath of fresh air to read characters that are in their 40's for a change.
The narrators, Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet, did a phenomenal job. Tone inflection was on point. They both did a great job in bringing Val and Ryan's story to life.
Ahh I'm soo here for another new series by this author! I've been on board for the other series and I'm so on board for this one.

First thing is first, you definitely want to pick up the prequel: Before the Chaos. The background story for Quentin and Madison is there and it's SO GOOD!
Now, onto the review!!
Madison has a good life. She has a career as a PR rep for a sports team and all is good. Until…Quentin is transferred in as the starting QB. Fantastic! Of course, they haven't seen each other for about 10 years, so this should be interesting. Add on to all of that, Madison is now tasked with being Q's babysitter as she struggles to craft a better PR image for him.
As always, Maggie gifts us a FMC who is no pushover and a MMC who is swoon worthy. Q is such a cinnamon roll who is definitely OBSESSED with Madison.
Narration was on point as Joe and Stephanie brought the characters to life. It was a smooth performance without hiccup.

This was a super fast paced shortie, full of angst and missed opportunity. Jacob definitely had some insta-love feels for Pria, which I found a tad bit strange considering that he had never had a true relationship.
I found that I had to keep my attention focused because there are quite a few instances of fast forward time hops. I love rockstar romance. It's my jam. I wanted MORE of that trope here. I got kind of a taste but just not enough for me to actually label it so.
All in all, it was a good book one to a duet. It does end on a cliffhanger, so make sure you have book 2 at the ready.

I absolutely loved it and I'm really looking forward to the second book in this duet. It is absolutely beautiful but soul destroying in ways that you wouldn't expect even if you're well-read in psych-thrillers.
Naya and Grey, our MCs, their story is very trigger heavy, so do yourself a favor and pay attention to the author's listing before forging ahead with this vividly crafted tale.
Ethereally Tainted is like reading a novel somehow crafted through poetry. It's inky dark, heart wrenching, psychologically stinging story will stay with you long after you've lowered yourself off of the cliffhanger.

I mean…perhaps my soul needs to be revived after reading this one. Emerie and Ingram's story had me in a chokehold from chapter one and didn't let go until the end.
There's some definite TW's in this one that were HARD for me to get through. As someone who has been through very similar situations (IYKYK) the tears were a river that just would NOT quit. With each new Bride I find something about her that I deeply connect with. Delora was the first one that I felt was the realest for me. Now Emerie is like that too.
I love the clueless, almost innocent Duskwalkers. They just snatch my heart right away. Ingram had me in stitches at times with his realness. He shocked me to my toes with his purple orbs though!!! Just WHOA! Ingram is one very very spiceh boy!
We do find out more about other Duskwalkers, the Owl Witch, and even Fyodor so hold on to your seats!

Second, my library of paranormal books is pretty slim as well. So, that being said, having both tropes in one book was a bit out of my wheelhouse. However, I was ready for it.
I found the characters to be on their way to being well fleshed out. I know that this is a series starter so they still have time for growth. The story foundation is good and solid, so there is a lot that can be built on.
What I did find hard to connect with is that so much of the book was internal monologues and not a lot of actual interaction between characters. I would have preferred more talking/interaction between characters than hearing what's going on inside their head.
The spicy parts were definitely spicy. No lacking there!
I'm looking forward to seeing where this series takes the characters and the story.

The ride with a new author is always amazing to me because there is growth right there on the pages. It's even more fun when they are writing a series because you get to witness their growth as an artist over several books. This series is no different. Vengeance City is always a series that I recommend to friends and fellow book besties.
Sacrifice & Redemption is the third and last book in the Vengeance City series. Thankfully it opens up right where the cliffhanger of book two left us perilously dangling, so we can take a deep breath. Chapter One gives us Jade's POV, quite necessary when you think back to how book two ended.
The plot twists even in book three are ridiculous and bound to give you whiplash, but SO WORTH IT! I know most of y'all are all about Kratos or Zander, however, my guy Spencer gets his day here and that's all I'm gonna say about that. I feel so vindicated!!
Vengeance City will be on my re-read shelf for sure and will be a recommend for a very long time.

I stumbled into AG wide eyed and excited to experience a new world. Let me tell you, I was never once disappointed. I laughed. I cried. I overheated. I raged. Most of all, I found a family that I loved so much. Kat is an incredible storyteller with webs intricately woven like that of the most beautiful spider. Meant to attract and meant to ensnare.
I couldn't even choose a favorite of the four Halloween Boys. The anticipation for Devil/Judas' story has been intense for sure. Picking up his breadcrumbs through the previous three books has been tantalizing and delightful. The forced proximity between Devil and Blythe leans far into making them stop and just BE with each other instead of catching fleeting moments. Yes, this is INTENSE but honestly, did you expect anything else from him?
Raven has a bigger and more frequent part in this book and I'm here for it. He's my absolute favorite side character. The snark, the fierce loyalty. He's the BFF anyone would want and we're all probably super jealous that we don't have.
This is definitely a series that is going on my re-read shelf forever. I'll never tire of it and will always recommend it.

I keptKnox and Sloane's story is fast, hot, and at times, heartbreaking. Being that their start is built on deceit, I didn't have much hope for them. I kept hoping that Sloane would figure Knox out sooner rather than later. I craved the drama/angst that it would bring. Alas, it was not to be.
We get almost 3/4 through the story before chaos breaks out and Knox is forced to his knees. Our boy has got some spectacular grovel game though! He has to wade through not only Sloane's defenses but her parents protectiveness as well.
Sloane's character is just as she should be considering how she grew up. She is sheltered and ridiculously clueless. However, she's brilliant and independent. A juxtaposition that makes her so endearing and lovable. Knox is just as lovable but in different ways. The ways he's had to fight to get to where he's at is sad. Wanting to be his own person but also please his dad has gotten him into a unenviable spot.
The last plot twist was a big one for sure. I honestly didn't know what to think of Sloane and Knox at that point. I think Sloane drew out the situation too long and I felt really bad for Knox.
The narration on this book was FLAWLESS! Erin did an amazing job with Sloane's southern accent. Joe, as always, was perfect. He nailed Knox's personality, in my opinion. His dirty talk was…incendiary!
