While the spicy stuff didn't come until the last half of the story, the lead up to was important to me so that the pieces fit in the end. I enjoyed Incubus more than Daiya for probable obvious reasons, as Daiya had very little participation in this shortie.

Right from the beginning, you're in it. From the prologue to the CLIFFIE! Heart pounding, teeth clenching, turn your Kindle over then peek again, kind of OMFG what did I just read?!
The dependency that Elias and Isla have on each other was double edged. Being that they were all each other had for so long, it made me sad but at the same time I was so glad that they had each other.
Imagine uncovering lie after lie and unending deceit from your own family and loved ones. Being trapped in a dangerous cult, with no way out and no help to ask for.
That cliffhanger just about gave me heart failure. I absolutely need book 2 like my next breath. I have to know what happens!

I really did. It came very highly recommended to me by soooo many of my book besties. I just couldn't stomach it in the end. Too much "Daddy" for me, and I'm all about the honorifics. Admittedly, Shane was a hot one though. I'm pretty sure he could put anyone's body through the wringer. It was a rompy no-plot story, but in no way will I believe that they fell in love after a weekend. Nope.
I will say that the audiobook completely ruined the book for me. The narrator just destroyed it. Poor Lily became a constantly out-of-breath, weirdly almost whiney, too soft talker. It was AWFUL! There was absolutely no effort put into the male character voice either. I DNF the audiobook at Chapter 14. I wish that I had stuck with having just read the book.

Warren and Alec are psychotic poetry in motion. They are beautiful and terrifying together. I loved every second of this novella. Their story is everything I wanted and needed it to be. It was dark, gritty, k!nky, and so verrry spicy!!
I'm not sure Warren and Alec count as morally grey (gray?). I'm pretty sure they are stepping into that inky black territory. It's interesting that they "feed" off the pleasure of others though. I know you're expecting some information about the book. Well, I can't really give much info because it's a novella and if I spill much then I'll give away spoilers. Suffice it to say, you have serial unalivers and are hot for each other and spicy stuff happens. Just read the book!

I was pretty inWhew! I've been so excited to read Atticus & Goldie's story that I practically pounced on this ARC as soon as it dropped to my Kindle.
I was pretty intrigued by the vague references to Goldie's backstory in The Wild One as Beck's BFF. There was something deep going on there and I just had to know what it was. When I started getting pieces of that story in this book and the path was laid out before me, more and more, I was heartbroken for her. As someone who has struggled with her mental health her entire life (though not in the same way as Goldie) I could identify with the struggle. How hard it is to keep that outward mask up all the time and how exhausting it is. Can I just say I'd like to strangle Goldie's mom? She is the ABSOLUTE worst!
Atticus has his own demons to deal with, ya know? However, he deals with it in the entirely opposite way. Instead of masking up, he's 100% bare and honest about what he is feeling. That makes him come across as a giant grump, and yes, maybe he truly is, but he has more than enough redeeming qualities.
The two of them keep getting forced together because their best friends are married, so it's kind of unavoidable to be in each other's space. Eventually, that proximity ends up with them giving into the inferno that's been simmering between them. And have mercy keep the fire extinguisher's handy because ...more

Hawke is her debut novel.
We gotta start out with Nicole (aka Nic) because that girl! Sometimes I felt like she had blinders on to life. SHEESH! Her bland "beige" boyfriend, Patrick, is an utter POS. He moves in some guy (Hawke) without telling her and just expects her to go along with it.
Hawke, oh swoon! Yes, I'm a sucker for a tattooed bad boy. No shame in my game! Anywho, he just got out of prison and is now Nic and Patrick's new roommate. Why? Well, you'll have to read the book and find out.
There is some kind of immediate undercurrent of fire between Nic & Hawke (enemies to friends to lovers), that explodes into an inferno that will burn you and the pages up.
I found it to be a inky dark WC story. One thing, for me, this is not a taboo story. It should be labeled something akin to taboo adjacent. The TW/CW I found it to be a inky dark WC story. One thing, for me, this is not a taboo story. It should be labeled something akin to taboo adjacent. The TW/CW are THICK in this one, so make sure you check them before you dive in. No joke.
As much as I tried, I just couldn't make this book work for me. It was sort of like reading a story on fractured glass. However, it does have some pretty redeeming qualities. The author did manage to make me feel for Mae, in as far as her brokenness. Mae's mental health was a big thread in this storyline for me, so emotional and mental void was relatable. She also had some sass to her, so I liked that.
There is not a lot of spice going on in the group department. The spice otherwise is great. I don't know. It feels so disjointed that it has all the parts to be a WC story, especially a taboo one, but it just didn't get there. I needed more filled out characters. Oh, and there is no traditional HEA in this book. Just a heads up. However, there is a download that may give you what you're looking for.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily....more

LOL There's a whole lot of spice and a fair amount of plot. Mia and Nolan have something in common that both of their partners died. Mia is a single mom, just dipping her toes into the dating pool. Nolan is ready to go all in and restart his life.
In some ways I identified with Mia. After becoming a Mom, I kind of lost a lot of my sexual identity. Mia struggles a LOT with that. Nolan makes it his primary goal to coax that back out of her. Nolan is an extremely understanding and gentle man, but in the bedroom he is a seasoned Dom with some wicked skills in Shibari.
This book is a bit outside of my usual realm of reading. It is a BDSM (D/s dynamic that evolves) story, starting out with basic honorifics of Master/Sir and ending with Daddy. The epilogue wraps everything up for a super HEA, but be forewarned there is a pregnancy.

Suzy is tired of her dull, sexless, loveless life. Sure, she can provide the love-filled tarot readings for her clientele but when it comes to her own, the cards seem to be trying to play games with her. One night, she finally gives in and takes the cards literally and finds herself face to face with Jack, the pumpkin head demon. Whoops!
Jack has been waiting for this moment for a very long time. He will not be denied now. Not only does he take Suzy's body as he wishes, but he shows her exactly what she's been missing and what she can have if she only gives herself to him....forever.

Sammie anWho knew that a game of hide & seek and a game of tag could turn a novella into such a fiery (I'm talking center of the earth HOTTTTT) read?!
Sammie and Adrian have been best friends for their whole lives. They've been in love with each other for most of that time but too afraid to mess up the relationship to say or do anything about it. Typical friends-to-lovers trope. That's where this steamy read takes a sharp turn.
Adrian is a Primal Dom. ~swoon~ He's really not sure that Sammie can take the heat, so to speak, and keeps his feelings and proclivities to himself. However, when a game of tag takes place with some very specific rules for Sammie, he lets his freak flag fly. Oh and the aftercare! I nearly wept with joy!
This short read is just the right length for the lead up to the spice. There's not much plot after the spice and that's completely okay by me. I have read the book and listened to the audiobook now. I laughed a bit at the warning at the beginning of the audiobook, to mind your volume. It's definitely warranted. Both Jaclyn and vo.Eros act out EVERY scene with moans, kisses, breathing heavily, etc. It was very entertaining and erotic to listen to for sure! All in all, both versions of the novella get a 5 star rating from me as I would definitely read/listen again and I do recommend it for those who enjoy erotica with BDSM subjects....more

Quinn and the guys find themselves in a cabin, snowed in, over Christmas. Making the most of their time together...ahem...they also talk. Quinn reveals a long held secret that leads to some therapeutic activities, but leaves Damian raging inside. New Year's Eve comes and they find themselves at a party, Quinn is confronted with a demon from her past and the guys do what they do best.
I would have liked to find out when and/or how Damian's obsession with Quinn started. That seems to be the one hole in this short story. Otherwise, I've enjoyed this little jaunt through murder, mayhem, and sexcapades with Quinn and her guys. It leaves me wondering if Molly will give us more....more

Anywho!! I loved this juicy little nugget of bad boys, masked up, unaliving Little Quinn's bullies sprinkled into them getting into some seriously HOTTTTT naughtiness. Blythe is amazing even if she thinks she's not. She's been on the run, town hopping, and finds herself in Halloween obsessed Ash Grove. She keeps her head down, gets a job, a room in a basement, and a therapist because she's 100% sure that she's losing her mind. A chance meeting with a substitute therapist starts her down a path that she could have never expected.
You meet Ghost first, then Wolfgang & Onyx. Somewhere sprinkled in there you meet Judas. These boys have a lot of secrets but then the whole town does too. Ghost is OTT obsessed with Blythe and it drives him crazy. He thinks it is his job to save her and goes out of his way to try and do just that.
Blythe slowly discovers that she never needed to be saved. She just needed to find the strength within herself and stop letting others run roughshod over her. Of course, it's soooo much more than that. I'm not going to give away spoilers. JUST READ THE BOOK! LOL

I read the blurb and that is all. I didn't read any reviews because I didn't want to spoil any tiny detail of this book. That being said, my review will not contain any spoilers. I don't think that it will do a reader any favors to ruin their reading (or listening) experience.
First and foremost, there is a giant CW/TW that deals with mental health issues. Please be aware of this. It is dealt with in a sensitive way and accurately portrayed.
Kayla is our FMC and has just lost her husband. She's learning to navigate life as a widow and struggling hard. She meets Aidan via a call out for a roof repair. What happens after this meeting is a cascade of events that make Kayla FEEL and it's rocked her teetering little world.
Does the blurb have anything to do with the actual story? Ehhh depends on how you look at it. I think that it does, but it's vague and that's the cool thing about it. The author allowed the reader to dive in completely blind and come out the other side with a different reading experience. Unfortunately, due to the kind of thinking process that I have (and can't seem to stop), I had the base premise of the storyline figured out at about 65% or so. However, it didn't diminish my want to continue reading. There was plenty of meat left in the plot for me to sink my teeth into.
Is there a HEA? Yes. Is it your typical HEA that everyone generally wants? Nope. ~shrugs~ So what? I think it's a refreshing change. Kayla got what she NEEDED. Sometimes what we need isn't always pretty or wrapped up in a tidy package. It isn't always beautiful to anyone else but ourselves.
