Includes the selection requirement and service limitations of the Coating Sec. 5 & 6
Systems applied on the project::
a. Selection of coating material conforming to the requirements of
SAES-H-002, Para. 5.1., 5.4, 5.5 & 5.6
b. Service conditions per the respective Coating system
(APCS) listed in SAES-H-002.
c. Carbon steel bolts and nuts that are included with the pipelines Para 5.1.1, 5.1.2,

and fittings shall be externally coated. as per para. of 5.1.3 of SAES-H-
the General Requirements for External Coatings for corrosion 002
protection.
d. For buried service, the exposed areas of the bolts and nuts can
be coated with APCS-113A after permanent installation. If
frequent re-torque of the bolts and nuts are required during
inspection and maintenance, the application of a Fluoropolymer SAES-H-002
coating system under 09-SAMSS-107 is recommended. Para. 5.4.3

Specifies the Limitations of various Types of APCS-113 Coating System


provided in coating data sheets as mentioned below:
a. APCS-113A - Liquid Coating systems with high Solid content (>85 to
100% by volume) for buried pipeline rehabilitation in Subkha/ high water
table conditions
