Happy Holidays Card (ATCAS Cards Challenge #190 GDT)

Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS for a Challenge #190after I was chosen as CAS perfectionist in their Challenge #187 - One Layer. I love playing Addicted to CAS challenges, as their challenges are all about CAS (clean and simple) cards, my favorite card design. I'm happy challenges are back after half year break. :o)

The Challenge #190 theme is Pattern.

Card design needs to be CAS. Here is a CAS definition from Addicted to CAS Challenge Blog:

Note: there are various CAS cards definitions on various blogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), Happy Holidays Card. :o)

How I made this card...

First I prepared all parts for my card: a white top folded card base, a patterned paper stripe and die-cut snowflakes.

I stamped a sentiment with a Distress Ink directly on the card base. I inked the sentiment stamp with a VersaMark Watermark Ink, wiped it with my palm, inked the stamp with the Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and pressed the sentiment on the card base. I prefer to do it this way when stamping with Distress Inks, as the stamping results are much better than without using the VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the patterned stripe and glued it on the card. I cut the excess with scissors.

Then I arranged and glued snowflakes along the patterned stripe, using a glue or a 3-D foam square, just to add a bit more dimension to my card.

Easy and quick to create. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")

List of supplies:

I hope you'll like my take on the challenge and get inspired. :o) Stop by the Addicted to CAS and see amazing CAS creations the Design Team made for this challenge. The challenge is a fortnight challenge, so there is plenty time to share your CAS cards with us. :o) For more information about the challenge and rules, jump over to challenge post at Addicted to CAS. :o)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Stop by later this evening, I'll be posting again. Enjoy and smile! :o)

Karate Green Belt Card (AAA Cards Game #168 GDT)

Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at AAA Cards for a Game #168, after I won 1st place in their Game #164 One Image. I love playing AAA Cards challenges, as their challenges are all about CAS (clean and simple) cards, my favorite card design. :o)

The Game #168 theme is One Corner + optional twist Use Masking.

Card design needs to be CAS. Here is a CAS definition from AAA Cards blog:

Note: there are various CAS cards definitions on various blogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), one layer, Karate Green Belt Card. :o)

I made this card for my niece Tea (9), who trains Karate for six years. This Monday, June 15th, 2020, she had her fourth Karate exam to earn a Green Belt. She earned it!! :o)

Tea earned Green Karate Belt

Tea loved the card!! :o)

If you like, you can see cards I made for her when she earned previous Karate Belts (Yellow here, Orange here, Red here). :o)

How I made this card...

To make this card I used a super cute Mama Elephant 'Tiny Ninjas' stamp set. LOVE!!! :o)

I wanted to create movement on my card. Amazing technique shared by Christine Drogt of Create a Smile stamps was my inspiration (here).

I stamped the adorable ninja directly on a white top folded card base. I made a mask from a post-it paper and glued it over the stamped ninja. Then I stamped same image 5 more times, without inking the stamp.

After the ink dried completely, I colored stamped images with colored pencils. I added extra shades with markers (fiber tip pens) and my card was finished. Super easy and fun!!! :o)

Card measurements: 89 mm x 127 mm (3 1/2" x 5")

Mini Santa Card (AAA Cards Game #156 GDT)

    Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at AAA Cards for a Game #156, after I won 1st place in their Game #152 Maxi White Space + Geometric. I love playing AAA Cards challenges, as their challenges are all about CAS (clean and simple) cards, my favorite card design. :o)

The Game #156 theme is Sketch + optional twist Winter Birthday.

Card design needs to be CAS. Here is a CAS definition from AAA Cards blog:
Note: there are various CAS cards definitions on various blogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), Mini Santa Card. :o)

    How I made my card...

I colored a Santa in November 2019 during Kathy's Racoosin 14th 30 Day Coloring Challenge (preview here)I stamped the Santa on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the Santa and traced edges with a black marker.

I left the Santa aside for nearly two months until I decided to use it on my today's card. :o)

I stamped another Santa on a white cardstock paper, fussy cut him leaving thin white border around him, colored the Santa with the black marker and glued watercolored Santa image over it.

Next up was a patterned stripe. I cut the stripe from a Kraft cardstock paper and randomly stamped snowflakes in watermark stamping technique using a VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water and, using a paint brush, splattered the stripe and left it dry on air.

After drying, I assembled the card following the sketch. I glued the patterned stripe on a white top folded card base, glued 3-D foams on the back of the Santa and glued him on the card and glued 3 snowflakes on the card.

As a finishing touch, I drew details on a Santa's outfit using a black fine liner and a white pigment ink pen and my card was finished. :o)

Craft Stamper GDT - Take It Make It November 2019 Challenge Inspiration

    Happy Friday! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at Craft Stamper Magazine Blog for Take It Make It November 2019 Challenge Inspirationafter I was a Design Winner in September 2019 Take It Make It Challenge with a Vintage Wedding Card. :o)

All Take It Make It (TIMI) challenges have an Anything Goes theme. There are two winners each month: Design Winner and randomly chosen winner. Prizes are amazing for both winners!! :o) Find all the details and Link up tool in TIMI November 2019 Challenge blog post (here). :o)

And here is my take on the challenge: Happy Fall Card. :o)

To make this card I used stamps from a super adorable Gerda Steiner Designs 'Happy Fall' stamp set. :o)

    How I made my card....

First I created a background panel. I stamped randomly leaves and an acorn on a Kraft paper panel in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I glued the panel on a white top folded card base.

Next up were images. I stamped an adorable happy squirrel, leaves and acorns on a watercolor paper and colored them in watercolor technique with Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut images and traced their edges with a black marker.

Then I stamped same images again on a white cardstock paper. I colored images with a grey marker and fussy cut them, leaving thin white border around them. I glued watercolored leaves and acorns over the grey ones. I did this to make images thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

I wanted to a bit dimension to the squirrel, so I softened the watercolored squirrel using a stylus ball on a soft working mat. This curled the squirrel a bit. I glued the squirrel over the grey colored one.

Lastly, I heat embossed in white the sentiment on a black cardstock paper and cut the sentiment to a stripe of desirable size.

I don't have any 3-D foam in my stash for last two weeks, so I improvise whit paper scraps to achieve dimension. To make the sentiment pop a bit on the card, without 3-D foam, I glued the stripe on a same size black stripe. This doubled the thickness of the sentiment. I glued the sentiment on the card.

Lastly, I glued all images on the card and a white cardstock paper panel inside the card to make it sturdier and my card was finished. :o)

I love how my card turned out!! :o)
