Birthday Snail Card - Croatian Sentiment (bastel-traum challenge #102)

Hi everyone :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at bastel-traum and our theme for the challenge #102 is Animals. :o)

The challenge starts today, June 15th, 2021, at 9 AM, CET (UTC +1) and ends on July 15th, 2021, at 8:55 AM, CET (UTC +1). Find all the details about the challenge, rules and prizes in a challenge post (here).

It's been a while since I've joined my DT in challenges and created a card, but today I managed. :o)

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), one layer, Birthday Snail Card - Croatian Sentiment. :o)

To make this card, I CASEd (copied and shared everything) a card that I made two years ago (here). I went with same design, used same products, just went with a bit different color scheme (on this card a snail's house is a bit lighter, yellowish). :o)

I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a snail from 'Chameleon' and a speech bubble sentiment from 'Croatian Sentiments'Sretan rođendan means Happy Birthday. :o)

How I made my card...

I stamped the snail and the sentiment directly on a top folded Kraft paper card base.

I colored the snail and ground with various colored pencils. To add extra shades to the image, I used Stabilo Pens (Markers).

Then I colored the speech bubble sentiment and snail's eyes with a white pigment ink pen. I managed to mess couple black lines with the white pigment ink, but I fixed them with a black fine liner.

Lastly, I coated snail's house with a transparent varnish to create glossy accents and left it dry on air through the night.

I love how my card turned out. :o)

Card measurements: 89 mm x 121 m(3 1/2" x 4 3/4")

Reindeer Winter Wishes Mini Circle Card (bastel-traum challenge #95)

Hi everyone! :o)

My second post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

On November 15th, 2020, a new challenge started at bastel-traum and our theme for the challenge #95 is Winter. :o)

I'm a bit late sharing my post here on my blog, but there is still 2 weeks left to join in the fun.

The challenge started on November 15th, 2020, at 9 AM, CET (UTC +1) and ends on December 15th, 2020, at 8:55 AM, CET (UTC +1). Find all the details about the challenge, rules and prizes in a challenge post (here).

And here is my take on the challenge: Reindeer Winter Wishes Mini Circle Card. :o)

To make this card I was inspired with a card that I shared in my first blog post today (here).

For my card I used an adorable reindeer stamp from Mama Elephant 'Reindeer Games' stamp set, background snowflakes from Jane's Doodles 'Driving Home for Christmas' stamp set and Jane's Doodles 'Snow Globe' stamp set and a sentiment from Your Next Stamp 'Christmas Critters' stamp set (the set is discontinued form YNS shop).

How I made my card....

First I created a background panel. I randomly stamped snowflakes on a Kraft paper in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink and drew dots with VersaMark Watermark Pen. Then I die cut a wonky stitched circle from the Kraft paper.

Then I made a card base. I cut two circles from a white cardstock paper and glued them together on the top.

I glued the Kraft panel on the circle card base.

Next up was an image. I stamped the reindeer on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique with Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the reindeer and traced edges with a black marker.

I stamped another reindeer on a white cardstock paper, colored him with a grey marker and fussy cut him, leaving white thin border around the reindeer Then I glued the watercolored reindeer over the grey one.

I die cut a speech bubble form a white cardstock paper and stamped the sentiment on it.

I love dimension on my cards. I glued 3-D foam squares (2 different thickness) on the back of the reindeer and the speech bubble and glued them on the card.

As a finishing touch I drew white highlights on the reindeer using a white gel pen, embellished the card with three brown enamel dots and my card was finished. :o)

I love how my card turned out. :o)

Card measurements: d = 83 mm (3 1/4")

To make this card I was inspired with a card I made for our last Jane's Doodles Release Blog Hop (here).

For my card I used stamps from two GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles stamp sets'Pumpkin Patch' and 'Bear Hugs'. ♥

How I made my card....

First I created a background panel. I randomly stamped acorns and pumpkins on a Kraft paper in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink. Then I die cut a wonky stitched circle from the Kraft paper.

Then I made a card base. I cut two circles from a white cardstock paper and glued them together on the top.

I glued the panel on the circle card base.

Next up was an image. I stamped an adorable bear on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique with Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the bear and traced edges with a black marker.

Whale of a Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT July Spotlight)

Happy Friday! :o)

This is my third post today. If you missed previous two, just scroll down, or follow direct links here (I've announced my 6th Bloggoversary winner.) and here. :o)

This weekend I'm sharing my Jane's Doodles spotlight projects that I made in June, July, August and September, but I didn't share them here on my blog yet. Two days ago I shared full list of projects that I'll be sharing (here).

Today I'm sharing my June and July spotlights, three spotlights in total, all in separate blog posts. My posts are scheduled and will go live every hour.

Second one today is this Whale of a Birthday Card. It was my spotlight project for Jane's Doodles on Tuesday, July 14th, 2020.  :o)

To make this card I used stamps from a beautiful Jane's Doodles 'Cool' stamp set

How I made my card...

I stamped a whale on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using a Distress Ink Hickory Smoke. After drying, I fussy cut the whale and traced edges with a black marker.

As the watercolor paper I use is thin and I needed a thicker image, I stamped another whale on a white cardstock paper scrap, colored it with a grey marker and fussy cut the whale, this time leaving thin white border around it. I glued the watercolored whale over it and the image was ready.

Then I ink blended a white carsdstock paper panel with Distress Inks. When I was satisfied with the color, I splattered the panel with water, dabbed splatters with a paper towel and left the panel dry on air. After drying, I drew white dots on the panel using a White Pigment Ink pen.

I stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper scrap and die cut a speech bubble shape on my Sizzix Big Shot.

With all parts ready I assembled my card. I glued the ink blended panel on a side folded card base,. I glued another white cardstock paper panel inside my card to make it sturdier. Then I glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the whale and the sentiment speech bubble and glued them on the card.

As a finishing touch, I drew white highlights on the whale and embellished the card with two blue enamel dots and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 127 mm x 95 mm (5" x 3 3/4")

Hippo Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT March Spotlight)

Hi everyone!! :o)

This is my third and last post today. If you missed previous two just scroll down or follow direct links here and here. :o)

This weekend I'm sharing my Jane's Doodles spotlight projects that I made in March, April and May, but I didn't share them here on my blog yet. Yesterday I shared full list of projects that I'll be sharing (here). Today I'm sharing my March spotlights.

This Hippo Birthday Card was my spotlight project for Jane's Doodles on Wednesday, March 25th, 2020.  :o)

To make this card, I was inspired with my own card that I made for Jane's Doodles February New Release Blog Hop (here).

I used stamps from Jane's Doodles 'Wild' stamp set. :o)

How I made my card....

I stamped a hippo on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique, using a Distress Ink Hickory Smoke. After coloring and drying, I fussy cut the hippo, traced edges with a black marker and softened the hippo using a stylus ball on a soft working mat. This curled the image a bit.

I stamped another hippo on a white cardstock paper scrap, fussy cut him, leaving a thin white border around him, colored him with a grey marker and glued the watercolored hippo over him. I did this because watercolor paper I use is thick and I needed thicker image, but also to create extra dimension on my card. :o)

Then I worked on a frame. I cut three frames from the white cardstock paper and one from a patterned paper. I glued frames together (stacked them).

I die cut a speech bubble from the patterned paper and stamped a sentiment on it.

With all parts ready, I assembled the card. I stamped leaves in grey directly on a white side folded card base and glued the frame on the card base. I glued 3-D foam squares on the image and speech bubble and glued them on the card.

As a finishing touch I drew white highlights on the hippo using a white pigment ink pen, embellished the card with grey enamel dots my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 117 mm x 95 mm (4 5/8" x 3 3/4")

Jane's Doodles Release Blog Hop

Happy Friday! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Release Blog HopToday we are featuring two new stamp sets released into the store. :o)

Both are GORGEOUS!! Love love LOVE!!!!! :o)

And here is what I prepared for today: CAS (clean and simple), Birthday Hippo Card using stamps from the 'Wild' stamp set.

I did this because watercolor paper I use is thin and I needed thicker image.

Then I worked on a frame. I glued together three frames, each in different paper color. I made these using a Polaroid frame die cut and a paper trimmer. First I die cut three Polaroid frames and then cut the bottom part of each to get a nice rectangle frame. :o)

I glued together frames, forming an interesting shape, and then glued the frame on a white top folded card base. I masked the area around the frame and stamped leaves inside the frame, directly on the card base.

Then I die cut a speech bubble from a black cardstock paper and heat embossed a sentiment in white on it.

I glued 3-D foam squares on the image and speech bubble and glued them on the card.

As a finishing touch I drew white highlights on the hippo using a white pigment ink pen and my card was finished. :o)

I love how my card turned out. :o)
