12 Days of Christmas - Day 8 - Sretan Božić Card

Hi everyone! :o)

Welcome to 8th Day of my 12 Days of Christmas Series.

Today I want to share with you this Sretan Božić Card

To make this card, I CASEd (copied and shared everything) my own card that I shared couple days ago here on my blog (here). I went with same design, layout, color scheme, used same techniques and stamp sets, I just went with some different stamped images and a different sentiment. :o)

Sretan Božić is a Croatian sentiment and it means Merry Christmas. :o)

How I made my card....

First I created a background panel. I randomly stamped images on a Kraft paper panel in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

Then I splattered the panel with a white tempera color mixed with a bit of water and left the panel to dry on air.

After drying, I glued the panel on a white side folded card base.

Next up was the sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper, cut the sentiment to a desirable size stripe, glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the sentiment stripe and glued it on the card and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 121 mm x 89 mm (4 3/4" x 3 1/2")

Poinsettia Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

My 3rd and last post for today. If you missed previous two, just scroll down or follow direct links here and here. :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Poinsettia Card:o)

This is a first Christmas/Winter themed card I made this year. I love this color combination and will make more cards using it for sure. :o)

To make this card I used stamps from two GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a poinsettia flower from 'Christmas Blessings' and a sentiment from 'Winter Words'. :o)

How I made my card....

I stamped the poinsettia flower on a Kraft paper panel in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water and, using a paint brush, splattered the panel and left it dry on air.

While the panel was drying, I worked on the central poinsettia flower.

I stamped the poinsettia flower on a white watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using only one color: Distress Ink Ground Espresso. After drying, I fussy cut the flower, traced edges with a black marker and softened the flower with a stylus ball on a soft working mat.

Then I stamped another poinsettia flower on a white cardstock paper scrap, colored it with a grey marker and fussy cut it, leaving a thin white border around the flower.

I glued the watercolored flower over the grey one. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

I wanted to add some dimension to my card, but currently I don't have any 3-D foam in my stash. Instead, I used the white cardstock paper scraps. I die cut 4 circles from scraps, glued them together (stacked them) and glued them on the back of the poinsettia flower. Worked perfectly!! :o)

Lastly, I heat embossed in white the sentiment on a black cardstock paper and cut the sentiment to stripes of desirable size. To make the sentiment pop a bit on the card, without 3-D foam, I glued each word stripe to a same size black stripe.

With all parts ready, I assembled the card. I glued the panel on a white top folded card base, glued the poinsettia flower and sentiment stripes on the card. Lastly, I glued one more white paper panel inside the card to make it sturdier and my card was finished. :o)

I love how my card turned out!! :o)

Peace and Joy Circle Cards (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

My second post today... If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

Today was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made these Peace and Joy Circle Cards.

To make these cards, I used GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles 'Christmas Blessings' stamp set.

First I made a card with stripped patterned paper. I liked it so much I made another one using tree bark (woodgrain impression) pattern paper. These papers are form Teresa Collins 'Something Wonderful' Paper Pad.

    How I made my cards...

First I cut circles I needed. Here are the measurements:
    • card base: 3 7/8" x 2
    • circle panel: 3 3/4"

I heat embossed in white a sentiment on the patterned paper circle panel, splattered the panel with a white acrylic paint mixed with water and left it dry.

Then I heat embossed in white two poinsettias on a vellum paper, fussy cut them out and glued on the panel.

I glued two card base circles together to create a card base, glued the panel on the card base and embellished it with couple pearls. As a finishing touch I highlighted some splatters on the panel, drew couple more white dots and my 1st card was finished. :o)

Repeated everything for the 2nd card. :o)

    Cards dimensions: d = 98 mm (3 7/8")
