Hi everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club! 

This month we are celebrating 

 National Sock Day

This quirky celebration isn’t just about keeping your toes toasty 

– it’s a day that weaves together fashion, charity, and a touch of whimsy. 

Just use them as you like on your creations.

Used pre-cut images for today's card.

On a patterned background, I added torn strips of white paper at the bottom to suggest snow and splattered them with light blue ink for greater effect. I then glued on the pre-cut images and added silver threads to the baubles. 

Finally, I stamped on sentiments from Stampin'Up.

Today marks the start of a new challenge at the Dream Factory 

This month's movie is

Christmas ...Again?!

Yes, it's almost Christmas again! 

We hope you haven't made all your 

Christmas cards and Christmas crafts yet 

so that there are still a few left for our challenge! :D

Anything Goes: Christmas + opt. Funny Cards

For this ATC, I was quite inspired by the colors of the movie poster. 

I colored the image with alcohol ink markers. Cut it out and glued it onto some leftover "alcohol-ink-experimental paper" I found in my stash. I arranged the sentiment alternately in white and black, as I found only white too bright and only black too bold.

Hi everyone!

We are entering the second half of our current Dream Factory Challenge. The movie of this month is 

Elliot the littlest Reindeer

Anything that is Christmassy or wintry and features a reindeer or a stag goes.

To make the snowflakes stand out better, I dabbed the embossed background of the ATC with a white ink pad. 

I masked the area for the snow and stamped the fir trees and log cabin (Katzelkraft). I stamped the cabin a second time on Bristol paper, colored it with alcohol ink markers and cut it out. I glued the lodge onto the ATC and then stamped the fir tree in the foreground. I applied the "snow" with gesso, which I also used for the fir trees - used the heat gun to speed up the drying process. Once the gesso was completely dry, I stamped the reindeer (cats on appletrees). 

Finally, I stamped the moon with Fossilized Amber (Distress Oxide) and highlighted three embossed snowflakes again with a white gel pen. Added the sentiment.

For today's card I utilized some craft gifts.... (Deer die and star stamp)

I used design paper for the die cut deer and the embossed panel. 

To highlight the swirls, I dabbed them with Pear Pizzazz (SU).

  I stamped the stars with Fosillized Amber (Distress Oxide) and added a sentiment in black on top.

This week we challenge you with the colors

Red + Green

For the background I made a negative print from a stencil to keep the stars and dots white. The green corner comes from a failed background. Since I can not throw anything away, a piece of it has now found use. I die cut the reindeer once from black foam and once from green cardstock, glued them together and added it to the card. - It loses a few presents (stickers) as it scurries by. 

I did the same process for the sentiment, but this time I used glitter cardstock and black cardstock.

Merry Christmas - Mixed Media

Hi everyone!

Let's go for a new 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge. 

This week we want you to use this technique:

Mixed Media

First, I made the background, having already chosen the majestic stag (Katzelkraft) as my main subject.

The panel for the background is from my stash. It was already painted with blue acrylic paint. I sponged a few areas with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot (Distress Oxide). Stenciled some leaves. Made stars with texture paste. Added washi tape and a few black splatters. Stamped text on the lower part.

I stamped the stag on the finished panel. Placed the newsprint. Stamped the stag a second time. Placed the torn corrugated cardstock and stamped the stag a third time. Colored it with alcohol ink markers.

I attached the corrugated cardstock and the piece of newsprint to the panel with foam tape, slipping crumpled raffia tape between the two.

The sentiment from Stampi'Up is heat embossed and also attached with foam tape.

Snowman and Deer

I figured these cute fellows don't need a lot of bells and whistles. So this time it has become a CAS card. 

I stamped the image, masked it and sponged the background with Mermaid Lagoon (Distress Oxide). Removed the mask and watercolored the image. After drying I splattered the card with white ink to create snowflakes. The sentiment I stamped three times to get a bold black print.

This week we challenge you with the colors

Black & Silver

On black cardstock, I masked the area of the sentiment and sponged the rest of the card with metal silver ink. I stamped the fir trees, stars and snowflakes in white and added splatters of white ink.

I cut a deer out of black cardstock and adhered it with foam tape. The sentiment is heat embossed with silver powder.

To add a little more silver, I backed the card with embossed silver foil.
