Traffic Funnel

This feature allows a user to analyze the performing of campaigns or/and creatives.

The Traffic Funnel feature allows you to analyze how well your campaigns and creatives perform at every real-time bidding (RTB) stage.

The analysis starts with bid requests, goes through targeting filters, and continues through the auction and receiving impression notifications. This helps you see if requests are filtered and understand why so that you can correct the weak points if they exist.

Use case

Let's assume that you set up a campaign for traffic from some specific regions and cities in India, included one IFA List for retargeting purposes, and created a Banner creative. Still, your campaign does not bid for some reason.

You can troubleshoot your issue with the help of the Traffic Funnel feature:

  • Go to the Traffic Funnel page from the left panel under the Analytics tab
  • Select some filters for analysis from the Add Filters dropdown button: Campaign and Creative
  • Select the name of the problematic Campaign and the Creative
  • Click the Apply Filters And Start button to launch the analysis process:

Pay attention

The Traffic Funnel will not work without at least 1 filter enabled. You will be be allowed to push the Start button only after selecting one or more available filters.

  • Wait a few minutes for the system to gather data:

As we can see from the information provided by Traffic Funnel, our creative does not bid because of these reasons:

  • The Geo location allowlist means that 83.35 % of all requests are rejected due to the geo-targeting settings — the incoming traffic is not from the specified locations in India.
  • The next reason shows that the traffic remaining after the geotargeting cutoff is rejected due to the Device IFA retargeting settings — the incoming traffic doesn't contain appropriate identifiers included in the targeted IFA List. This reason, combined with the previous one, cuts off 99.99% of all traffic coming to the campaign.
  • The reason for the SSP endpoint allowlist indicates that the rest of the available traffic (0.01%) is rejected due to the traffic source targeting – the incoming traffic isn't from the included SSP endpoint on the campaign level.

Based on the Traffic Funnel analysis results, we can conclude that revising the IFA Lists targeting settings can help our campaign receive successful bids. Most of the traffic is being excluded due to geo-targeting settings. However, the remaining traffic is not leading to successful bids, mainly because of the IFA list settings.

Please note that the Reset Data Gathering button does not disable traffic collection and analysis; it simply clears the already collected data. If you click the Reset Data Gathering button while the Traffic Funnel is running, the previously displayed information will be reset. However, you will see new information about the traffic flow in a few seconds.

❗️

"Data is not gathering”

The Traffic Funnel analysis is automatically turned off after 15 minutes of collecting data, and the red inscription "Data is not gathering” appears. In this case, you have to change the filters again or simply click the Start button.
