Five Tunes you May Have Missed

There as been a ton of new music that seems to slip through the cracks right now. Let's take a look at five you may have missed. First up jumping on the Tiger King bandwagon...

And the Tiger King lives on...

The official video for Chris Cornell's tribute to Guns N' Roses classic song "Patience". After helping his daughter Toni learn the song, Chris Cornell got inspired in March of 2016 to record the song himself after hearing the news that Guns N' Roses were reuniting. Released in celebration of Chris's 56th birthday. Let me know in the comments how you feel about this cover, it's different but in a good way right?

Any time I can talk about one of my all-time favorite bands I'm going to! Enuff Z’Nuff’s new studio release, “Brainwashed Generation” showcases a diverse collection of songs that demonstrate the progression of musical styles in the Enuff Z’nuff catalog, all while retaining the undercurrent that has kept them a loyal fanbase since the ‘80s. PS this is the band's 21st album!

Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns are back and they have released a new single, 'Let You Down'. The song was written and recorded this past month while the band is in the midst of work on their next studio album. The band was so struck by the song that they felt the need to release it immediately rather than sit on it for the next studio album. This was the band I was to see on July 4th with Enuff Z'nuff, dang you Coronavirus.

With their lasting durability, iconic rock band Stryper returns with their 13th studio album, "Even the Devil Believes". Filled with the band’s signature riffs, harmony-laden melodies, and positive themes, the 11-track project is Stryper’s first studio album with Perry Richardson (Firehouse) on bass and background vocals.

Disney Family Singalong

So how many of you tuned into The Disney Family Singalong last night? One of the best things to come out this COVID-19 stay at home fun has to be how performers have done there best to have fun with all of us. And Disney has been fantastic throughout all of this. The Disney Family Singalong features many celebrities performing Disney classics from their homes, including Donny Osmond. Some of the performances were downright perfect.

This special was something happy to look forward to for kids and adults alike during the coronavirus outbreak. As celebrities sing Disney songs, an animated character guides us through the on-screen lyrics, so you can sing along with your family!

Sadly Donny was our favorite part and his video was not uploaded to YouTube. I found it fascinating that Twitter blew up with so many people who forgot he was the singing voice of Shang in Mulan. He is such a treat! So the question for you who was your favorite if you tuned in?

Beautiful Things with Donnie Vie

If you dig around the Cave long enough you will see just how much I love the band Enuff Z'Nuff. Earlier this year they released a new album that was not bad. Sadly it was without there frontman Donnie Vie. Donnie has been doing some great solo stuff for years now and it's great that both he and Chip keep going. Vie tho he was the songwriter with lyrics that are mind-blowing and so in touch with life.  With his raspy yet powerful voice, I can not help to wonder why he has not made it mainstream or college radio to this day. I was super excited to see his new album come out on December 20th and even more excited to have "Beautiful Things" waiting for me under the Christmas Tree. Today I would like to share with you his new video just kind of ignore what is going on in the video and listen to his message. Let me know in the comments what you think as so many of my friends think I'm nuts for following these guys around for so so many years!

Everybody loves a good cover, right? Well, give this Elton John classic a spin! This one really shows off Donnie's voice.

Here is a deep cut from Enuff Znuff from an album that is lost gold! In fact, this album was only released in Japan and it's a crying shame!

And one older song that has not left my iPod/iPhone ever! Everybody has that go-to song well this one is mine. This is songwriting at its best.

So as you can see we are closing in on another decade and Chip and Donnie are still there for me! Through thick and thin the music that they produce talks to me in so many ways. From great days to bad days I can always count on Enuff Znuff and Donnie Vie to pick me up. I can only pray that they keep going strong for the next 20 years or so.

The Dirt
2019 | R | 1 Hr 47 Min | Drama | Netflix

Director: Jeff Tremaine

Writers: Amanda Adelson

Stars:
Douglas Booth
Iwan Rheon
Daniel Webber

Synopsis:
The story of Mötley Crüe and their rise from the Sunset Strip club scene of the early 1980s to superstardom.

Love it or hate it Glam Metal/ Hair Bands were all the rage in the '80s and for me an amazing time in music to grow up with. Even though I was not much of a Crue fan The Dirt was a fun watch and a nice little trip down memory lane.

This was meant to be a fun trip down memory lane and by the sound of it, most critics seem to be panning The Dirt. I think for the most part they are missing the point. The Crue was a loud and obnoxious group that partied harder than most glam bands of the time. For me, The Dirt was pure entertainment to its fullest. No, it's not Bohemian Rhapsody but nobody intends for it to be. But like the Queen biopic, the cast was pretty spot on. Douglas Booth stars as bassist Nikki Sixx, Iwan Rheon as lead guitarist Mick Mars, Colson Baker plays drummer Tommy Lee, and Daniel Webber portrays lead vocalist Vince Neil. Out of the group, both Baker and Booth nailed their parts, with Rheon playing the oldest member and the rarely talked about story of Mick Mars who has to be one of the most underrated guitar players to come out of the heavy metal scene. The weak link here is Webber with is poor lip-syncing along with the non-Vince look but don't let that stop you this group still works well together kicking ass throughout the movie.

I also have strong feelings for the movie trying to humanize the band showing us the hard times they went through. From Vince going to jail, and Nikki's drug use you get a small break from the crazy action and its just enough to make you realize they where human and yes they made mistakes. Don't let that last line fool you too much the movie has plenty of Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll and oh yes doing a line of Ant's with Ozzy is a true highlight of this story.

The Dirt is recommended for any fans of the band Mötley Crüe, as it showcases the band's impact and significance in music history. It is nostalgic as it tells the group's notorious story. Now if your not a fan of the group just sit back open your mind and enjoy. Do not over think it like most critics have been. I never read the book but remember my wife telling me it was a must read at the time and after we watched it she picked the book up again, I now would like to read the book The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band. I just need to know more about these crazy story's!

If your a product of the 80s and have not fired up Netflix yet than get on it! If your looking for something outside the box about a rough and tough boy bad give this one a shot you just might like! In this house, I could have gone on for another hour and we would have been happy!

Lloyd Kaufman Confirmed to Star in Victor Vran's Motörhead: Through the Ages DLC

Yep, you read that right Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman will star with Lemmy in an add-on game for the upcoming Overkill Edition of Victor Vran.  "Motörhead: Through the Ages" expansions. In the latest video from developer Haemimont Games,' the focus is on Motörhead. Lloyd Kaufman took a seat with the team's CEO Gabriel Dobrem and producers Bisser Dyankov and Achim Heidelauf and talks about living up to Lemmy's legacy and making the game worthy to bear the title "Motörhead". Motörhead Legend himself, Phil Campbell, is also on hand to give a few words too.

In the real life, Lloyd and Lemmy were good friends and Lemmy made several appearances in some of Troma's classic's like Tromeo and Juliet, Citizen Toxie and Terror Firmer. Although nLloyd'syds first video game it will be nice to see him and Lemmy back together again. Check out the video for the gameplay as this looks pretty dang cool! The game comes out at the end of the month so no price has been set yet and no clue as to how much this add-on will be. I will not lie this has my curiosity peaked.

Pour Some Sugar on Me!

I learned three things from Def Leppard You can always rise above tragedy!Having a Mullet is cool in 1989 and 3rd Love Bites!

I first heard Lep in the very early 80's do to the fact my drum teacher had family back home send him this new record of an upcoming band to play along with. I studied hard to the songs Rock Brigade and Wasted long before they were a household name. I will never forget when he received their new album High and Dry with the jams of the title track along with the kick butt Another Hit and Run! Of course, people really took notice of the band when the power ballad Bringin on the Heart Break hit the airwaves.
But for me, Def Leppard was a well-kept secret and that was about to change and the Glam Metal movement was about to change the world.

Christmas Music for your Gift wrapping Pleasure

Psycho Santa

Here is an odd one for everybody. Last October I was looking for information on Jack Kittel's Psycho and stumbled onto a Christmas version. This is not done by Kittel in fact I can not find any info on it any where. I was able to track down the song for you listing pleasure.

And just a quick re-post for ya "We Wish You A Zombie Christmas"

Count Down To Halloween Day 18

Here are some fun little songs from old Disney Records. These are not mine so credit to the hard worker behind it CHEERS TO YOU!

**UPDATED**
Very Cool Power Metal for you brain to dance to.

Dementia 13 Song unearthed!

"I Know that this music is Terrible" said Luana Anders who played Louise Haloran in the cult classic Dementia 13. The song you here at the begining of the movie has been highly sought after for a very long time. But thanks to the power of You Tube the song is finally out there.

The song was preformed by Buddy and the Fads. Never before released about heard on one little transistor radio the song set the tone for Francis Ford Coppola's first movie.

This song should find its way on to a few Halloween mixes later this year. So enjoy "He's Caught" by the 50's group Buddy and the Fab's.

The song it self has a nice rockabilly vibe to it. I'm really grateful that somebody was able to dig this up. I would have to rate this 3 bloody brains!

Black Christmas Soundtrack

This is not my post and I apologize I do not remember where I got it. This is a deluxe 2 CD set. This is also a fan made CD. So I thank you to the original poster.

Black Christmas is a 1974 Canadian slasher film directed by Bob Clark and written by A. Roy Moore, and largely based on a series of murders that took place in Quebec, Canada around Christmas time. The film's score is by Carl Zittrer. It was distributed by Ambassador Film Distributors in Canada and Warner Bros. in the United States. It follows a group of college students who must face a deranged serial killer lurking in their sorority house. It stars Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder, Andrea Martin, Marian Waldman, and John Saxon. A remake of the same name directed by Glen Morgan was released on December 25, 2006. The movie was inspired by an urban legend called "The Baby-Sitter."

Free Music Monday New Steelheart Single

On Halloween Steelheart updated their website and are preparing a new album. Right now they are offering a free download to their new song "Black Dog".

Steelheart is a band fronted by Miljenko Matijevic. Mili’s powerful voice and multi-octave range have become the heart and soul of the band. Although they began as a glam band in the early 90s, Mili has recently reformed the band and turned it away from the glam scene. Steelheart's new sound is modern and edgy while still retaining overtones of Miljenko Matijevic's roots.

Press kits

Slaughter asked Steelheart to perform a show which would occur in Denver, Colorado. The show took place on Halloween night, a night which will forever be remembered by Steelheart fans. While performing, “Dancing in the Fire”, a hit from the “Tangled in Reins” album, Matijevic decided to climb a lighting truss, which was improperly secured. Matijevic tried to evade the massive rig, but without success. The 1000 pound truss hit Matijevic on the back of the head, driving him face first into the stage, breaking his nose, cheekbone, jaw and twisting his spine. Matijevic miraculously found the strength to walk off the stage and he was immediately taken to a hospital. “Steelheart” ended that night.

Four years later, Matijevic formed a new version of Steelheart with Kenny Kanowski (guitars), Vincent Mele (bass) and Alex Makarovich (drums) to record and release the album “Wait”. The album was very different to the previous two albums. The single “Wait” went #1 in many Asian countries; however, that was the main area of the album’s success, the grunge invasion causing the American-European markets to be near closed to classic rock. Original member James Ward joined Steelheart on the tour supporting the album. Also on the “Wait” album, “We All Die Young”, the first track, was in the motion picture, “Rock Star,” starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston.

I invite you to listen to the whole album. If you were to listen to one song I highly recommend "Good 2b Alive"

Here I go again with the cheap cd! What does that say about me? Anyway found this a year or two ago at the Dollar Store. I thought to myself why not I liked the movie this can't be to bad. I was not too far off it is not bad, but they added some odd song's to fill time. Don't know why the choice to skip the less popular songs but hey it's a Drew's Famous I can't expect much more from that. So for you listening pleasure The Hit Crew sing to songs of Rocky Horror and then some.

Wow, day 18 of the countdown to Halloween! So far I have been able to keep up. I'm not sure I'm overly happy with some of my post's but overall I'm having fun.

Also one of my favorites growing up.

Winnie The Winsome Witch is feeling lonely at home since no one likes a witch. So she decides to go to Arizona where no one knows her. She settles in an old Wild West type of town where she is eventually asked to be the sheriff. Not really Halloween but she is a witch. Fun never the less.

"Monster Shindig" with Super Snooper & Blabbermouse

Here is a groovy 1966 Surf rock Monster party with Super Snooper, Blabbermouse and more. I'm not sure where I found this little lost L-P but it's a fun little jaunt in time when kid records were meant to entertain.

Super Snooper gets a call of a loud party at 999 Shady Lane. Upon investigation, they find out the party is at the house occupied by the Gruesome Family (From the Flintstones). Released in 1966 Monster Shindig is a ghoulish gem to share with your family.
