... Great view of the well-restored and preserved former home of the UAE’s Founding Father and first president, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan... a prominent landmark and one of the most important cultural and rich historical places in Al Ain City... it is considered a symbol and a memorial for the modern history of Abu Dhabi and the UAE... there are around 15-20 rooms inside the palace walls, laid out as they would have been during Sheikh Zayed's life... Thanks a lot Heidi!!ヽ(ヅ)ノ
Al-Ain represents the oldest and most original settlement of the UAE, it is generally considered to be the cradle of the federation. Al-Ain comes from Arabic meaning "the spring" or "the eye", indicating its richness of water in this dry territory.
The Al Ain Palace Museum is located in the "Garden City" of Al Ain in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. It was built in 1937 and Sheikh Zayed lived there with his family until 1966. During that time, the palace was the scene of much social and political activity. It was renovated in 1998 and opened to the public in 2001.
The Al Ain Oasis has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011 and is the UAE’s only WHS site. The designated site is a serial nomination of 17 locations.

UAE ~ The Jumeirah Mosque - Dubai ~
...Beautiful mosque view... Dubai's main place of worship... a much-photographed landmark, especially when lit up against an evening sky... over the past two decades, the Jumeirah Mosque has become renowned as the focal point of the “Open doors-Open minds.” programme as it is the only mosque in Dubai which is open to the public and dedicated to receiving non-Muslim guests... Thanks a lot Ritz!! 【ツ】

Jumeirah mosque as shows from the name is situated in the Jumeirah District on the beach side area of Dubai.
This mosque is built in the medieval Fatimid traditional style in 1978. It is a beautiful white stone structure with towering twin minarets framing a large central dome. This mosque is a tribute to the present day Islamic architecture.
Though it has been built in the medieval Fatimid tradition, modern building materials are used to build this Jumeirah Mosque.
Its seashell-like finish and colouring fit perfectly with the mosque’s position opposite the white sands of Jumeirah Beach.

UAE ~Our identity...Heritage & Originality ~

With great stamp celebrating 50 years of postal services in Abu Dhabi. (Issued 30-03-2013)
Emirates Post Group
For over five thousand years henna has been a symbol of good luck, health and sensuality in the Arab world. Generations of women have used a paste made primarily of dried ground henna leaves to cover their hands and feet.
The Arabic designs usually have flowers or any circular shapes. The most common and natural henna gives off a reddish hue on the skin. Normally a henna design, done with a good mixture and left to set properly, can last between eight and 14 days. The design fades of its own accord.

United Arab Emirates ~Dubai~
This great card was bought by a friend during his holiday in Dubai. I hope to receive one written and stamped from the UAE someday.
But it is still a new country for my collection!!
( I'm always begging to everyone I know who is going on a holiday for postcards. ^-^)
OK!! I admit it.... That must mean that I'm seriously addicted....
Madinat Jumeirah is the largest resort in Dubai, designed like old Arabia spread across over 40 hectares of landscapes and gardens. And with a view of Burj Al Arab! The Burj Al Arab Tower of the Arabs", also known as "Arab Sail" is a hotel located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At 321 m (1,053 ft), it is the third tallest building in the world that is used exclusively as a hotel. The Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. It is an iconic structure to mimic the sail of a ship.
