More shirts!

Yes, more t-shirts.  Game Faire was not the only show I attended.  Dragonflight is another, and still a current affair.  Unfortunately, I have not attended Dragonflight for some years, but maybe that will change...

Something a little different... shirts

Remember the saying - been there, done that, got the t-shirt?  Well, while doing some sorting of old stuff, I found some old T-shirts from game shows that I had attended in the past, and I thought that I would memorialize them in some blog posts before they are sent off to charity.

First up are the shirts that I received from the now-defunct show, Game Faire, which was held in Spokane, WA, USA (my home-town) from 1979 to 2002 (or maybe 2003).  Game Faire was an all-inclusive sort of convention, with board games, RPGs, card games, computer games, and miniature events all under one roof.  I started as just an attendee, then started to run board game events, such as Squad Leader, Blue Max, and Western Desert, then made the switch to miniatures, primarily WW1 naval events.

And, without further ado...

Not a complete set by any means.  Game Faire always offered very nice shirts, with cool artwork especially in the later years of the convention.

And now, one last Game Faire t-shirt:

This one is from the Game Faire that was held in Lewiston, ID, USA, in 1984.  It was organized by the same people, but was held only twice or maybe three times before folding.

Just noticed that the visit count passed 16000 today... I would say Wow but this blog has been around since 2005 and that is not such an impressive number, even when you consider that I did not load up a counter until May 2007.

Canada in Khaki

This looks like it will be an interesting blog. Now, The Great War is not your typical gamer's cup of tea, but I think that it is a much underappreciated genre. The blog is focused primarily on one Canadian battalion's struggle during the Battle of the Somme. I'm looking forward to more, although I really do not need the distraction of yet another potential project!

Not much time today... I'm adding a few new features to the blog. On the left you will notice some new lists, and I am going to try and update all of my previous entries with tags. I am also thinking of starting up a photohosting site. Any recommendations?

I have yet to try to buy or sell anything here, but it seems secure and the quirks are nice (compared to eBay): longer auctions, and less fees. There are not too many auctions running currently, but it is nice to see a competitor to the monolithic eBay.

I heard about an interesting web site from the fellows at The Miniatures Page (also an interesting site!):

This site allows you to catalog the books in your library, and you can see the contents of other people's libraries. Reviews and ratings can be written by the users, and there are groups that you can form or join to discuss aspects of book reading/collecting/writing/etc. There is a wargamer group, with a dozen or so members. I find it interesting to see what the most common books are in the groups!

LibraryThing is free, with a limit of 200 entries. Yearly or lifetime subscriptions are offered for those with larger collections.

I'm also working on finishing off the Tau force. I have purchased what may be the last two items for the force - the new Sniper Drone box and the new Commander crisis suit. Hopefully I will take some work-in-progress pics of these cool new items as I progress them from box to completion. The drones are getting painted up - sloooowly, and I have contracted with No. 2 Son to finish my Fire Warriors and Kroot.
