Happy zombie Halloween

Here is something typical : Holiday week, loads of stuff planned, and paff. Fever, and bacteriological warfare in my throat. And I never have fever. I spent all yesterday in bed shivering, and I'm a total zombie, and of course my doctor is on holidays too ! Oh well...

Here is a picture of the Halloween stuff I made this year...

There's the tree, I made with fuse beads. And knitted pumpkins, and a ghost.

Voilà un truc typique : c'est les vacances, on prévoit plein de choses, et paf ! fièvre et guerre bactériologique au fond de ma gorge, ce qui me laisse au lit toute la journée et totalement zombie.

Mais voici quand même les petites choses que j'ai faites pour Halloween : un arbre en perles Hama, et des citrouilles tricotées, ainsi qu'un petit fantome

Happy Halloween !!!!

Halloween is a mistreated event here in France. Most people call it "just commercial", because we didn't go trick or treating as kids (For us it was boring cemetary visits on Nov 1st, often under the rain, for All Saints day) and we discovered Halloween on american tv shows. But I think it's just a return to a deep and ancient tradition, I love pumpkins ;)

Halloween is a serious matter for DBF. He loves monsters and horror, and any excuse for eating sugar and watching horror movies is good. So we decorated, and I made this little pumpkin from this pattern.

This year I'm actively making Christmas stuff and pouches for the Christmas fair, so I felt the urge of making something just for us. And Halloween related !!!

I knitted a lot, as you can see, my tree of snowmen is getting very crowded !!!!

And here is a picture of the owl media socks I'm making. I love owls. Knitting is neat, the socks adapt to any phone size !!!

Je sais qu'on ne fait pas Halloween en France, et que certains râlent contre ce jour commercial, mais pour DBF, c'est important, il aime les monstres et les horreurs. Donc on a décoré, et ce soir ce sera film d'horreur et crêpes.


Je suis entrain de tricoter encore et encore pour le marché de Noel, donc j'ai voulu faire une pause, et j'ai fait cette citrouille avec ce modèle. Il faut bien se détendre un peu ;)


D'ailleurs, regardez mon arbre plein de bonshommes, il commence à déborder ! 


Et voici aussi une photo des pochettes hibou pour les smartphones (et autres). Ce qui est cool avec le tricot, c'est que la taille s'adapte à tous les appareils !

Now with frame !!!

Yes, it's already framed, and displayed on the dvd/crafty bits shelves in the living room. It's next to the tv, in front of me when i stitch, so it's under my eyes all the time.

Of course, I expect DBF to put it somewhere else as soon as he comes back to put his PS3, but still...

Even the frame has a story. I stitched a husky dog head for my brother a few years back. Of course I didn't think of the guy factor when choosing the frame, so I got the frame back, and Mom put the dog in a more plain frame.

I didn't mind, knowing that I could use the frame for something else and... voila !

It's gold and darker area. I'm not a fan of golden frames, but the fairy is shimmering already, and the dark in the frame reminds me of the dark in the picture.

Some people asked me what I'm stitching now, well... "Welcome to the nuthouse", and I dug up cinderella as well... I need to progress big projects from time to time....

I noticed a new feature from blogspot: "followers". And I already have 4 of them even before adding the widget to the sidebar !!! How did you become a follower without this link???

I would also like to welcome the new visitors, I see a few commented today, and I can say I'm over the moon !!!

Well, time to go and stitch a little bit... Of course I have to do a bit of cleaning and packing as tomorrow is back onthe road to DBF's....

Hé oui, aussitôt fini, aussitôt encadré ! Bon, le destin m'a un peu aidée... Il y a quelques années, j'ai brodé un husky pour mon frère. Malheureusement, je n'ai pas pris en compte ses gouts et sa déco intérieure dans le choix du cadre.

Si bien que ma mère l'a changé, et m'a donné le cadre. ce qui tombe bien vu qu'il convient parfaitement à la fée, non seulement au niveau des dimensions, mais aussi dans le style et le fait que c'est doré/marron foncé, ce qui rappelle le dessin !!!!

Pour l'instant, le cadre et posé sur la bibliothèque dvd/craft à coté de la télé, il est sous mes yeux quand je brode. Evidemment, DBF le changera surement de place la prochaine fois qu'il vient, vu qu'il doit trouver où poser sa PS3....

A la question "mais que broder maintenant?", je vais répondre "Welcome to the nuthouse", et je vais aussi ressortir Cendrillon. Il faut bien avancer les gros projets parfois...

J'ai remarqué de nouvelles options de blogspot, comme les "abonnés", si bien que j'ai mis ce widget sur la gauche.

Enfin, bienvenue aux nouveaux, qui ont commenté d'ailleurs aujourd'hui, je suis aux anges !

Bon, c'est pas tout ça, mais je dois quand même broder un peu, et aussi ranger et enpaqueter pour le week end, car demain, à moi la route vers la France à nouveau....

Happy Halloween !!!!

And here you can see DBF's decoration master piece for halloween. He's more excited about this day than he would be for Christmas.

So he decided to decorate with some of my stitchings (little pillows mostly, masks and other halloween stuff.



Note the ficus full of decorations. This tree used to be in his flat, but as he moved he didn't want it anymore, so... I drove it home for an hour and a half. But it seems happy to have more space in here anyway...
The plan tonight is to have a sort of celebration, with horror movie, crèpes and gifts. Don't ask....

The halloween Fairy is far from finished. It's hard to work all day, come home to spend time with DBF, and try to manage a bit of stitching in the middle. I'll have a few days off next week, I really need it !!!

Cameo, I think it would be difficult to send me stuff to finish, but I'm thinking about making a tutorial to make the Autumn harvest piece. I plan on making something similar for Christmas stuff...

Voici la décoration d'Halloween de DBF. Pour lui c'est un jour encore mieux que Noel, et donc il est très excité, et a prévu toute soirée, avec film de zombies en 3D et cadeaux.

Donc il a ressorti certaines de mes broderies, et des guirlandes, etc... pour décorer la cheminée et le ficus.

C'est le ficus qui était chez lui, mais comme il n'en voulait plus dans son nouvel appart, je l'ai ramené chez moi après une heure et demie de route, et il est bien content car ici au moins il a de la place !

La fée d'halloween n'avance pas vite, il faut dire qu'après des journées de boulot bien remplies, puis des soirées à s'occuper de DBF, c'est pas évident de broder !

Heureusement que j'ai quelques jours de congé la semaine prochaine...

Halloween fairy progress

You will guess it: it will take some time for me to get back to crafting and posting. I had to face a slow old computer linked with all the printers, scanners, etc... and a good laptop with nothing. So I had to use a hub to be able to get all the stuff to my laptop, and reinstall drivers, etc...

Of course, I also have other stuff to do, and worries like my two English houses I don't seem to be able to sell in the crisis time we are living in.

Anyway, here is my progress on the Halloween Fairy, which is difficult to stitch because of the fabric. I find it hard to see the holes !!!

Zohrah, I think my connection is something like 12Mbps, it's fast enough for me... I usually just surf and send emails, so...

Vous l'aurez desviné, c'est difficile pour moi pour me remettre dans le bain de la broderie et de blogger...

Tout d'abord, je dois faire face aux joyeusetés comme rebrancher les périphériques via le hub sur le portable pour ne pas avoir une masse de fils partout, bricolage de prises (les prises anglaises étant radicalement différentes, il faut démonter et remonter dans des prises européennes.

Et bien sur il y a les soucis comme mes maisons en Angleterre qui ne se vendent pas à cause de la crise.

En attendant, voici mon progrès sur la fée d'Halloween. Ca tourne un peu au cauchemar car la toile est difficile, on ne voit pas les trous !!!

Un mot sur cette histoire de transfert internet limité: lorsqu'on surfe, télécharge ou charge des photos par exemple, c'est du transfer de et vers le serveur. Avec Belgacom, on est limité a 30Go de téléchargement, envoi, etc... Maintenant, il faut voir si je suis naturellement dans les normes ou pas... Je sais, c'est pas juste...

Sinon, je m'acclimate en Belgique et au boulot, c'est déjà ça... j'ai juste pas assez de temps pour m'assoir et broder... ;)

Halloween stuff

Final version of the mantel piece, with the finished "Spooks are out".

Note that I added the Waxing Moon Short stack I framed last year, and the MillHill pins.

Halloween was... calm. Only 2 groups of trick or treaters, so I am left with sweets I will have to distribute at work ;)

We had crepes and watched creepshow.

Acorn Hill is still progressing, but picture will wait tomorrow...

Spooks are out and finished

In 2 nights, this design was stitched...

Now of course I have to turn it into a cushion to go on the mantel piece ;)

You might notice that I used DMC3853 instead of DMC3854 for the pumpkins so they are more orange than the original...

First update spooks

This is what I stitched yesterday. It was amazingly fast to do... I have the impression I played Zelda and the Minishcap all evening, but no...

Ideally I should have this one finished for Halloween in 2 days. I could do it....

I took Acorn Hill in London on Saturday, big blocks of stitching seemed easier to do than hay in different colours...
