Post 467: 4 Floral CAS Cards (DT post for Bob n Betty)

Hi friends!

Popping in quickly to share 4 Floral Clean & Simple Cards I shared on the Bob n Betty Blog a couple of days back. I used their beautiful new Roseate Paper Collection. All the details can be found HERE. The floral images in this paper collection are beautiful & make perfect focal elements for all kinds of projects. All I needed to do was fussy cut some floral images and sentiments. No stamping or colouring required! In these cards, I’ve created different backgrounds using stencils, ink smooshing with inks to create a more organic look and loose water colouring. To add interest, I created ink splatter, added thread to some of the floral clusters and Nuvo drops for embellishment. The card panels were die cut & foam mounted on white A2 sized (4.25 by 5.5 inches) card bases.

Floral CAS Cards:

1. Floral CAS Card- Happy Birthday

2. Floral CAS Card- You Inspire Me

3. Floral CAS Card- Carpe Diem

4. Floral CAS Card- Miles of Smiles

Thanks a lot for your precious time :)

Post 447: Set of 2 Grungy Vintage Cards

Hi friends!

I'd like to share Two Grungy Vintage Cards. This was part of my DT work for Bob n Betty. All the details are here. I used Tim Holtz Paper dolls, Bob n Betty's Classics Decoupage Specialty Papers, Creative Embellishment Chippies- Butterflies set of 5 & distressed grid Stencil, Finnabair Mediums and 49 & Market and Mudra Stamps here.

Here are a few photos of the cards:

Card 1: Finders Keepers

Card 2: Shine Brightly

Process:

1. Cut one of the papers from the Classics Collection of Decoupage Specialty Papers, distressed the edges, darkened them with Vintage Photo distress ink and created mats for these panels
2. Did background stamping with archival inks and background stenciling with heavy white gesso (any type of texture paste will do)
3. Created a grungy look by adding color with sprays and created drips and splatter
4. For the focal elements, used Tim Holtz Paper dolls. Layered washi tape, thread, gauze, chipboards and gems and added some blue color as well. For the sentiments, used Tim Holtz metallic stickers
5. Adhered the panels to the mats and mounted these on the large sized card bases. To create dimension between the paper layers, used 3d foam tape

I am playing along with the following challenges:

2018 Paper Dolls- Topic 10 @PaperArtsy (used Tim Holtz Paper Dolls here)

A Vintage Journey June Challenge- Stencil it (used 1 stencil here)

Country View Challenges- June 2018- The written word (the decoupage paper making up the main panel has text all over it and I added text stamping as well)

Creative Embellishments June Challenge (I was inspired by the vintage photo and colors & used Creative Embellishment Chippies- Butterflies set of 5 & distressed grid Stencil )

Thanks a lot for your precious time :)

Post 440: Cute Mixed Media Layout- Memories

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Cute Mixed Media Layout- "Memories". This was part of my DT work for Bob n Betty. I used their adorable Little Wonderland Collection. All the details are HERE.

Here's a photo of the layout:

Here are some close-up photos:

Process:

1. One of the papers from the Little Wonderland Collection was taken as the base. It was torn a little from all 4 sides, distressed and darkened with grey ink. Then this was adhered to a 12 by 12 size sheet of heavy white card stock. Stitch stamping was done in the gaps created to give a textured look and add interest to the page.
2. Clear gesso was applied on the scrapbook paper to prep it for mixed media work. Then light paste was added through a stencil in different areas of the page, to prepare the background and add texture.
3. To add color to the page, light colors of Lindy's sprays (Azure Sea Asters Shimmer Sprays & Bling-y Blonde Shimmer Spray) were added, movement was created with drips.
4. Background stamping was done with grey archival inks.
5. Photo mats and frames were created with die cuts of papers from the Little Wonderland Collection and white card stock.
6. Few elements were fussy cut from the Little Wonderland Collection
7. All the elements for layering were gathered and adhered to the page in a visually pleasing composition. Elements included fussy cut images, sentiments, twines, thread & flowers. To add dimension, some of the elements were adhered with 3d foam tape.
8. The project was embellished with few buttons & to add additional texture and shine, a mixture of mini & regular art stones, silver sequins & soft matte gel was applied to various places on the page.
9. In the end, some heavy white gesso was applied to the elements using the dry brushing technique and a few ink splatters were created.

I am playing along with the following challenges:

1. More Than Words Main Challenge for May- used multiple die cut paper frames around the photo and the panda, also used the word "memories"

2. Lindys May Challenge- used 2 colors in the same family as this month's palette, (Azure Sea Asters Shimmer Sprays & Bling-y Blonde Shimmer Spray)

Thanks a lot for your precious time :)
Stay Blessed!

Post 431: Two Layered Vintage Cards- "Wild & Free"

Hi friends !!

I'd like to share a couple of Layered Vintage Cards- "Wild & Free". I was inspired by nature. This was part of my DT work for Bob n Betty using their decoupage papers, all the details including a pictorial are here.

Here are some photos of the cards:

Card 1: Butterfly

Card 2: Bird

Process:

1. Die cut tags, labels and lattices using Bob n Betty’s Meadows, Classics & Glam Craft Decoupage Specialty Papers & old book pages.
2. Distressed the edges of all the paper elements (die cuts and torn pieces) with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Also fussy cut some flowers from these papers.
3. Distressed the edges of the paper mats with a distress tool to give a worn out look and also darkened the edges with distress ink, then adhered these to the white card base.
4. Created a visually pleasing composition/design by layering the elements (die cuts, fussy cut elements, gauze, twine, sisal, burlap, flowers wood slices, corrugated cardboard, alphabet beads & wooden buttons) and adhered some of the elements with liquid glue and others with 3d foam tape to add dimension
5. As a finishing touch, did background stamping with archival ink, created white ink splatter & added a few doodles.

I am playing along with the following challenges:

1. More Than Words Mini Challenge- Wild (Facebook) (included the word wild on both the cards)
3. Creative Embellishments April Challenge-I was inspired by the colors & the wildness of the photo in the moodboard, for the twist, included harlequinn pattern stamping & die cuts.
