Post 176: Floral Birthday Card

Hi Friends :)

I'd like to share a floral birthday card today.
This is inspired by the design of the beautiful mother's day card made by Heather Hoffman for Winnie & Walter's Rerun 19. I loved the idea of using a floral pattern paper and having the sentiment in the middle. Also, the addition of the twine. I tweaked the card design a bit and also made it into a birthday card because I usually need a lot of birthday cards :) I've added the sentiment on a vellum die cut and colored the die cut with some distress oxide. Embellished the card with dew droplets in light pink color.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter Cutaways- Wishes (die cut)
Winnie & Walter Stamp- The Big, the bold and the happy (birthday)
Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Ovals Die
DCWV 12 by 12 papers - Teenage Dream Stack
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
Distress Oxide- Broken China (to color the die cut wishes)
Iris White and black cardstock 250 gsm
Twine
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Glossy Accents
Dew Drops (Orchid)- The Robin's Nest
Vellum

Here is a picture of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

W & W Rerun No. 19- Parentville (I didn't have these stamps so I was inspired by Heather's Mother's day card in the use of the floral background, the use of twine and the central placement of the sentiments and the blue color of the sentiment)

DCWV May Stackaholic Challenge (facebook)
Time Out Challenge #84- (friends)
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes

Thanks for your time.
Love reading your precious comments!

Post 175: Mixed Media ATCs: Water

Hi Friends :)

I'd like to share a set of Media Media Artist Trading Cards I created on the theme of water/sea/beach.
These are 5 and they were made on recycled cardboard.
I really love the look of corrugated cardboard so I let the texture show through in some places.
I created texture with gesso and texture paste, created a grungy look by tearing the paper and added colors using sprays, wax and acrylic colors. Then to embellish the project used metal charms, gauze, burlap cord and marbles. Added more texture with mini beads and glass glitter. Colored the dusty attic chipboard pebbles with Picket fence distress inkpad. In the end, finished with white splatter.

List of Supplies:

Dusty Attic Chipboard- Bubbles and Page Pebbles #3
DCWV Project Paper- Cool Ombre

Post 129: Sweet Baby Card

Hi friends !

Today I'd like to share a baby card with you :) This card is side folding and 5 by 7 inches in size. The flowers in the pattern paper are quite glittery and pretty, their shine shows up in the close up pictures.

Synopsis of the Process:

The edges of the mat and panel were distressed with a distress tool to give a deckled look. Heat embossing was done on the Dusty Attic foliage chipboard to create a shiny yellowish-green textured bumpy look, to achieve this, besides the watermark ink some glue was also applied to it and the 2 embossing powders (lemon yellow and metalline green) were mixed and used on the chipboard to make it stand out against the busy background. The sentiment "sweet baby" is cut from one of the papers in the same nana's nursery paper stack and matted with a greenish paper from the autumn melody stack.

Post 121: Coffee Card (Irish Blessings)

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Coffee Card today and since it is St. Patrick's Day, here is wishing my Irish friends a very Happy St. Patrick's Day :)

This is a 5 by 7 inches side folding card. Three colors have been used on this card, besides the neutrals; rust, green and brown. I used a rust colored pattern paper from the DCWV Autumn Melody Adhesive Cardstock stack as the mat, the edges of this were distressed with a Tim Holtz Distress Tool. Then I took the coffee beans pattern paper from the DCWV Snack Stack and trimmed it down slightly smaller than the mat and distressed it's edges. The Verve stamps Lucky Day Digi Stamp has been used here. The coffee mugs were fussy cut and colored with zig markers. The sentiment was die cut with the stitched scalloped oval die set by Gina Marie Designs. Then ink blending was done on it with two distress inks- cracked pistachio and twisted citron. Some white dots were added to this die cut with a white gel pen. Then some steam cut outs were hand drawn and fussy cut. A pennant/banner was cut out of the green paper from the DCWV Autumn Melody Adhesive Cardstock stack. All these elements were arranged on the card panel following the DCWV sketch. Tissue tape was used to adhere the mat and panel to the card base. In the end 2 enamel dots were added to accent the sentiment.
