Post 352: CAS Friendship Card

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Card. This was part of my DT work for Peekaboo designs. All the details can be checked out here.

Process & Supplies:

1. The stitched rectangle die cut was created using the PABD Scalloped Rectangle Die & Canson Watercolor paper.
2. The PABD Chloe die was used to create the black silhouette die cut.
3. Ink smooshing was done on the background (to create a loose organic look) using zig markers, a piece of acetate & a water spray bottle.
4. The black die cut was adhered to the panel & the sentiment was stamped with versafine onyx black ink using the PABD With Love Daisy Stamp.
5. To assemble the card, the stitched rectangle panel was foam mounted on the card base.

Post 318: CAS Friendship Card (Smile)

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Friendship Card today :)
The process was simple enough, I did a little ink blending with yellow and green inks to create a soft background for the die cut word "smile". To get the pink hue on the die cut, I blended Picked Raspberry Distress Ink onto white cardstock. Used Jennifer Mcguire's brilliant tip to line up the letters, by using the negative of the die cut.

Supplies used:

MFT Dienamics - Words for Friends
MFT stamp- Because you
Distress Oxide Inkpads- Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber
Distress Inkpad- Picked Raspberry
Archival Inkpad- Aquamarine
Nuvo Jewel Drops - Sea Breeze

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

CASology 272- Cherish (cherishing friendship)
AAA Cards Challenge 102- Ink Blending (did ink blending to create a soft background for the sentiment)
Addicted to stamps & more #265  (was inspired by the pink and "smile" in the photo)

Post 226: Mixed Media Layout- Friends

Hi folks!

How are you doing ?
Today, I'd like to share a Mixed Media Layout titled Friends.
This is 12 by 12 inches in size.
I was inspired by the photo of the 2 little ones walking hand and hand and decided to make a layout with it. It signifies friendship and a beautiful happy day spent with friends.
There are mostly butterflies and flowers on this layout with the color scheme: white, black and lavender.
The base is white cardstock on which I have done watercoloring with gansai tambi colors and stencil work with distress oxides.
Then, did some background stamping for interest.
Further, added stamped (on canson watercolor paper), watercolored and fussy cut images in layers.
I've tried to create texture with multiple layers and patterns.
In the end, few splatters were created with watered down white gesso and inks.
I've used the following Altenew stamps here: Bamboo Rose, Floral Frame and Fresh Freesia

Here are a few photographs of the layout:

Post 137: You're My Type of Friend Card

Hi folks!!

Today I'd like to share a blooper card. I must admit it is difficult sharing the projects that have gone wrong or the ones that one doesn't feel particularly proud about but in the past few months I have realized that it's ok to share anything and everything one makes, especially when the process of making has given one so much joy :) and the mistakes certainly add to one's experience.

The blooper project I had originally saved for the occasion is lost somewhere in my crafty space but I remember keeping this current one on the side as well. The blooper on this was that I wanted to make a clean and simple card with lots of white space and I accidentally spilled some pink ink on the card, so to rectify the situation I ended up adding a few pink hearts and also splatters of pink (I went overboard with the splatters as well!!) but today when I look at it, honestly, it doesn't seem too bad, so I didn't toss it. It actually got used. The Never-Before-Used supplies used on this one are a batch of cardstock I bought in destash and hadn't used at all and the hotp typewriter stamp. Just in case you can't make out the sentiment, it says "you're my type of friend!" The stamping was done with archival jet black and magenta hue inks , the splatters and the grey grounding was with zig markers and an aqua brush.

Post 123: Spring Card 1

Hi!!

I'm so glad you've taken the time to visit me here. I truly appreciate it :) Today I'd like to share a floral card in celebration of spring and good friends.

This is a top folding A2 size card and there are 3 colors used on it besides the neutrals: pink, purple and green.

The process is pretty straight forward, I took the panel which is a stitched rectangle die cut and did ink blending through a beautiful floral stencil by artplorations, to get a soft pink floral pattern in the background. Then I stamped the floral images and the sentiment from the uniko stamp set onto the card using archival ink. Did some simple coloring with zig markers. And finally adhered the panel to the card base in a tilted "off the edge" way for added interest.

List of Supplies:

1. Uniko Stamps- Originally Organic
2. Artploration Stencil- Bloom Boldly
3. Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangles Die
4. Tissue Tape
5. Iris Cardstock 250 gsm
6. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
7. Ranger's Archival Inkpad- Jet black
8. Sizzix Big Shot Plus for die cutting
9. Ranger's round blending tool and foam
10. Tim holtz mini distress inkpad- picked raspberry

Post 122: Floral Card (Lucky to Have You)

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Floral card and since it is St. Patrick's Day, here is wishing my Irish friends a very Happy St. Patrick's Day :)

This is a side folding A2 size card. The panel is a stitched rectangle die cut. I stamped one of the floral images (the second detailed one from the biggest flower) from The Ton Stamps- Fresh Cut Peonies set in Archival Manganese Blue Ink onto the panel in 2 corners, following this 2 of the leaves from the same set were also stamped in the corners using Archival Emerald Green Ink. Even though this is a layered stamp set, I wanted to create a whimsical design so I decided to use just 1 stamp out of the 3 and on top of that I used the color blue which isn't the traditional color for peonies but I tend to take creative liberties and do what feels good at the time :) Then using zig and camlin markers along with an aqua brush, the background was watercolored. The sentiment is from Verve stamps- Lucky Day digi stamp, this was die cut with the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Squares Die set. To add details to the flowers and leaves, shading was done with markers and then some white dots were added with a white gel pen to make the images pop. To add more interest to the background, one of the mini leaf stamps from the ton stamp set was stamped onto the background to give a cohesive look. The panel was adhered to the card base with tissue tape.
