Post 355: Clean & Simple Mixed Media Layout- Amazing

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Style Mixed Media Layout today. I wanted to maintain a lot of white space and use minimal layers and embellishments. For this, I created the background with Lindy's sprays and did some stamping with a Kaisercraft butterfly stamp & archival ink. The photos were matted with panels created by using acrylic paints and sprays along with icraft stencils. The layering was done with a few die cuts and a doily. The title is an icraft wooden embellishment colored with a black alcohol marker. In the end, splatter was created with white gesso and ink.

List of Supplies:

Prima Forest Leaves die
Prima Finnabair Heavy White Gesso
Kaisercraft stamp- Butterflies
Icraft stencils
Acrylic paints
Lindys Drop Dead Diva Shimmer Spray set (purple and green used)
Ranger's Archival Ink- Jet Black
Sizzix Tim Holtz Die- Wildflowers
Black & white cardstock
Canson Watercolor Paper
Tacky glue

Post 271: Mixed Media Card (Butterflies)

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Mixed Media Card I made. This was for my DT post for Bob n Betty. You can check out all the details and photo tutorial here. I am slowly sharing projects on my blog as and when I get the time.

I love butterflies so this was fun to make. I worked with faux leather for the first time and was happy that it could be easily die cut.

Synopsis of the Process: This is a 6 by 6 top folding card. Basically I created layers and textures with pattern paper, die cuts, lace and gauze. Stamping was done in the background and color was added using zig markers. I created simple paper flowers to embellish the project by die cutting pattern paper.

List of Supplies:
Bob n Betty's Faux Leather
Bob n Betty Feel like a butterfly and No One But You Paper Pack
Prima's Heavy White Gesso
Baby Pink Cardstock 300 gsm
Gauze
Kaisercraft stamp- Botanicals
Ranger's Archival Jet Black Ink
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Pearl Lace
Twine
Gina Marie Designs Butterfly XL die
Cheery Lynn Designs- Tea Rose Medium Die
Half Pearls

Butterfly Challenge #85 - stamped silhouette butterflies in the background on the pattern paper and added a wee bit of black watercolor drips (zig markers) which look indigo on top of the pink when watered down.

Post 118: Shabby Chic Birthday Card

Hi Friends!

I'd like to share a card with you today. I'm also excited to share that I am having a small crafty giveaway which is open to anyone worldwide (international folks are most welcome). All the details can be found here -- I'd be super thrilled and honored if you play along :) the prize is a 25 USD gift certificate to any store you like.

Onto the card, this is a side folding A2 size shabby chic birthday card.

Synopsis of the Process :-

I chose 2 sheets of pattern papers from the Papericious Vintage Rosewood collection (6 by 6 size), the papers were cut slightly smaller than the card base and then their edges were distressed with the Tim Holtz distress tool, then the deckled edges were colored with a distress tool and distress ink- tattered rose. The mat and the panel both were adhered to the card base. Then a section of the Papericious lace-leaves was cut into different leaves and colored with distress inks- evergreen bough and cracked pistachio. Some die cuts from prima's forest leaves were also colored with the same distress inks. The gina marie designs leaf wreath die cut was colored with camlin brush pens. Some white colored paper flower die cuts were colored with distress inks as well using a round blending tool, the colors were picked raspberry, victorian velvet and worn lipstick. Then half pearls were adhered to the flower centers. The monarch butterfly from the Kaisercraft Butterflies stamp set was stamped in archival ink and then colored with zig markers. Also the sentiment is from a greetings sticker sheet by itsy bitsy, the edges of the sentiment were distressed and colored with tattered rose distress ink. Some torn gauze was used to give a shabby look while layering all the elements and the papericious flower pattern chipboard was also used here to give added dimension and interest. The elements were placed on the card and once I was happy with the placement, they were stuck down with a hot glue gun.
