A Snow Imposed Break

We had snow! Sleet! Rain! Power outages, and cable/internet outages last week.  Yuck!  Luckily the power only was out for short, sporadic times. But the cable was out from Thursday until Saturday night.  I snapped this Photo on Thursday eve right before everything went out.

It had just started to rain.  If you can see the big fir branches covered in snow back there~? They are no longer there, the heavy ice broke them off. :-(   The tree is still there, but she is missing a lot of 'arms'.  We had a lot of tree damage.  :-(  But along with everyone in our neighborhood, the tree damage did not harm any buildings. :-)

You are probably thinking I sewed like 'crazy' while I was stuck in~ you would be wrong! With the power blinking in and out, I didn't want to take any chance of harming my sewing machine. I did stitch a bit~

I finished this cute pillow. I love it! :-)  I won the pattern and wool from a giveaway Anna at the Woolie Mammoth had. (Thank you Anna!!)  The pattern is from Bunny Hill. I was so intimidated to cut into that kit! I have done very little with wool  except collect it and drool over every one else's work~~ oh boy! Now I am hooked! :-) I am working on an embroidery project, but have a bunch of woolie projects in my future! Anna you created a woolie monster! LOL

I hope Mother Nature has been kind to all of you~
I need to get back to my machine now.

Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!!

I don't blame you for not wanting to chance the power surges with your machine. It's a perfect time for some hand stitching.

Sorry to hear about your tree damage, but I'm glad your house didn't sustain any damage. Remember to always keep some hand stitching on hand!

Cute little snowman stitchery...love it! We are without snow here in the midwest...a very strange and warm winter for us. Hope you are digging out and have a warm house!

Stay warm and be careful if you're out and about.

Your snowman pillow is adorable, I've been thinking about trying a wool project, this looks like a good one to start with.

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
