Playing in The Man Cave again...

 

I couldn't resist another play in The Man Cave Challenge over at Lost Coast and Carmen's Veranda as I needed a card for a former colleague.

I spotted this fun meme on Pinterest and immediately wanted to turn it into a card. I've had this fabulous image from Crafty Individuals for ages and knew it would partner perfectly with the wording. 

Turns out I have a box full of wonderful stamps from this lovely company. I think I bought them early in my stamping career and wasn't sure what to do with them. Having a Mysti really helps get a good, solid print with these red rubber stamps and I know I'll be digging out more of these fun images for future cardmaking adventures. 

It's cold, but sunny here in the UK, so I think a little Autumnal stroll is in order at some point today. Keep safe everyone.

Hi Blogsters, I finally manged to hit the craft room this morning and what a happy time it's been!
I'm sorry to have been away for so long, but thankfully my Level 3 Teaching Assistant course is completed and I am told my certificate should be arriving later this month.

I wasn't expecting to create this card when I sat down at my work desk, as I was planning something very CAS. However, this is what I ended up with!

 I used C1 - 238 from Crafty Individuals for the centre panel and coloured with Promarkers. Then I went to town with Distress Ink (Antique Linen) as I wanted to achieve a look that hinted at old photographs. I cut out the individual pictures, distressed them and then mounted them on a freshly stamped panel, which I had embossed in gold and distressed with Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen. The pink card 'frame' was again distressed to deepen the colour and then stamped with Ranunculus SSC1082 from Stampendous. I mounted the frame onto some yummy chocolaty brown card from Stampin' Up! For some reason the camera has picked out the deep pink accents on each picture and made them look really obvious and clumsy. In reality they don't look as bold or vibrant.

 

I thought I'd also share this funny little Gnome card for my Hubby's birthday at the end of June. Don't you just love this little guy from Paper Smoochies???

Belated Valentine's greetings to you all, I hope that you all had a suitably loved-up day!

 

Here's the card that I made for my hubby. All very simple and CAS, and made using one of the fabulous new range of Alice Palace plates from Crafty Individuals. Check out their new look website, its so attractive and easy to use.
I'm being rather cheeky by linking up over at CASology, but their Cue for Week #31 is RED and I really feel that the tiny red heart stamped in the corner of this card makes all the difference! Let's hope they feel the same...

Although its been a lovely sunny day I haven't seen much of it as I've been writing an assignment on educational and developmental theorists. I've just finished working on Jean Piaget and am now tackling Freud. Is it just me or was that man a wee bit odd????

 

Anyhoo, enjoy the rest of the weekend. Its half-term for me next week so I'll be trying to fit in some serious crafting time amongst all the study.

Happy Christmas everyone!

I can't believe this is my first post for December... sorry everyone!
I've been rather poorly so didn't manage to hit the craft room until last weekend.
My inspiration for getting back in the crafting saddle was the need to make a card for my Dad's birthday. I'm amazed that he is now 76 as he is as lively as a cricket and never fails to be the life and soul of the party! Dad loves the Peanuts characters, so when I saw this sweet stamp on offer over at the Craft Barn I just had to get it.
Next up I'm going to share two cards that I made using a gorgeous stamp from Crafty Individuals. I thought CAS with red and cream was just the ticket. The red ink and the cardstock is Stampin' Up Real Red - lovely!
The next image is also from Crafty Individuals. I stamped in Memento and then coloured with a variety if Distress inks, and mounted on a leftover of that rich red card. I really like this traditional image of Santa on his sleigh.
My final two cards are the one's that I made for my parents......and for my hubby.
I've had my eye on this image from the fabulous Mo Manning for ages, but have never felt that my colouring skills could do it justice. In the end I decided to throw caution to the wind and go for it!

Well, that just leaves me to wish you all a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

Skipping through the fields...

I'm not long returned from a 10 mile walk with my hubby... he's gone to plant a tree in the garden and I'm thinking of having a bath to soothe my aching legs!

I thought I'd share the card that was at a very early stage on my desk on Wednesday. I have to say that it has turned out nothing like I had planned. Funny how that happens sometimes.

The images are Italian Girl from The Secret Crafter and a fabulous Poppy Field stamp from Crafty Individuals. Everything is coloured with my Promarkers and the card is from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I wanted to make a card with Autumnal colours so headed for my browns and oranges... just like the girls over at The Pink Elephant this week!

I'm not really that happy with this card and might try a few variations as I like the combination of the those two very different images.

Happy Father's Day

Just dropping by to share the card that I made for my Dad to celebrate Father's day.

I left this one really simple so as not to detract from the stunning image of the birds.

The stamp comes from Crafty Individuals who stock beautiful red rubber plates.

They have a wide range of gorgeous images in their online store and delivery very quickly.

I coloured with Distress inks, highlighting occasionally with Shabby Shutters, and fought the urge to add any Glossy Accents, gems or ribbon. I love the fact that this block reminds me of the prints and fabrics of 'William Morris' and has a real 'Arts and Crafts' feel about it.

Finally, thanks to everyone who suggested that I try Memento Ink with my Promarkers... I have placed an order and will be lying in wait for the postie on my day off!
