The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Challenge #114

Another brilliant graphic heralds the start of another fun challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! This fortnight we offer you 'C is for Colouring'.

I have to admit that I love colouring, so this challenge is a dream for me.

I enjoyed playing with elements of this stamp when I made a card for my dad a few weeks ago. I do like these birds, so thought it would be fun to swap things about a bit and to add a silly sentiment!

As always, my sistahs-in-snark have whipped up some fantastic cards, so head on over to take a look and join us for this challenge.

My Dad!

Just dropping by to share the card I made for my dad!

Thought I'd also share a picture of the man himself.

To make this card I used a super-fun Stampotique stamp (I masked out the other birds) and Avery Elle set Mom and Dad.

A sunny disposition!

Isn't this little cutie from Stampotique just so funny? I couldn't resist pairing him with the sentiment from Paper makeup Stamps. He's my first Stampotique character, and I have a funny feeling that he won't be my last!
I had loads of inky fun putting this card together and felt ever so slightly thrifty too as all the cardstock came from my scrap box. I took a hint from the wonderful Ms Capper-Sandon's article in the July Craft Stamper and re-cycled some cardstock cut from a previous project.
I've made this card for a colleague called Paul. Paul is leaving his job as a Library Development Officer to follow a new career path as a writer and performer. We've had plenty of laughs over the years (especially over Paul's misguided belief that he bears an uncanny resemblance to Johnny Depp) so this smiling fellah seemed a perfect way to say goodbye and good luck.
I'm going to enter this card for the current Stampotique Designers Challenge#33 Use your scraps and the Wedding inspired The Daring Cardmakers Challenge 'Something Old, something new...' My something old is the 'backing paper', my something new is that new stamp, my something borrowed is the idea of re-using 'waste' card and the something blue is the blue Distress ink!!!

Strawberries and cream, and Jasmin!

Another gorgeous sunny day, marred only by the fact that England are no longer in the World Cup.
The challenge over at the Secret Crafter this week has been chosen by Victoria. As this is Wimbledon Fortnight she has chosen Strawberries and Cream as the theme for Challenge #89.

I was planning the layout for this card as I drove to Wendy's shop on Friday... actually I nearly drove straight past as I was concentrating on the card rather than where I was going! What this says about my driving I am not sure. This card is for my friend's lovely daughter Emelia. As Emelia is getting a little bit older now, I thought I'd use a slightly more sophisticated image. I hope that she likes the fabulously creative Jo Capper-Sandon's gorgeous new stamp 'Jasmin' as much as I do!

Jasmin was a joy to colour with Promarkers, although I know I haven't really done her justice.
I used Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar Distress inks to create the background, and stamped the text in Worn Lipstick. I also used Worn Lipstick Stickles around the edge of the card.
I used two beautiful new Hero Arts stamps that my lovely hubby bought for my birthday, and added the little blackbird from a favourite Hero Arts cling set that I have had for ages.

My hubby has gone outside to vacuum the cars... I think he needs to be alone with his dreams of what might have been had England beaten Germany.
It's a funny old game, as they say!
