Victorian Ice Skaters

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!  I'll be in my jammies all day because that's how we roll at our house for Thanksgiving.  You don't want tight or uncomfortable clothing getting in the way of enjoying your Thanksgiving feast!

I had a little bit of free time yesterday (I was surprised) and I managed to make two cards.  So here's one for today:

I remember when Winter Post came out and it seemed like *everyone* was using it *all the time*.  Me?  I didn't buy it...until earlier this year when I happened to find it for cheap on eBay ; )  So this is the very first time I've used it!

Check out the Inkspirational inspiration challenge:

I've had this challenge on the brain for DAYSSSS and I thought for sure I had a stamp of an old-fashioned lamppost.  Apparently my brain is either thinking of a stamp set I never bought or it's just making stuff up wholesale.  So I went with the Victorian ice skaters because they made me think of the people in the snow globe here.

I also kinda-sorta-loosely followed the Global Design Project sketch:

I forgot about the little embellishments on the sketch and obviously my greeting is much less large and in charge, so it's more like I started with the sketch and then my card morphed.  But it was fun and a quick little project.

Time for us to go stuff our faces.  Cheers!

2016 Showcase, Part 3

Mornin' kids, welcome to the last post in the 2016 showcase, at least for cards.  I think I'll pick out some favorite scrapbook layouts over the next few days too because it's fun to go back and look at those (which is the whole reason I make them, right?).  So let's get started.

October's pick is this Halloween card featuring Agnes, whom I dearly love (along with her pals Frankie and Vlad).

Here's a pretty Thanksgiving card for November's pick.

And I really liked two cards for December, the first one being this Christmas Magic train.

And my other favorite is this CAS snowflake card.  That wraps up the card showcase for 2016, hope you enjoyed it!

Nachos: Holiday Fun!

Are you ready for the last Nacho challenge of the year?  It's a theme...

As it turns out I needed just one more Christmas card to mail out, so this worked out great for me :)  And here's what I made:

These stamps are from the same stamp set as the beautiful Christmas train I used last week, and I put a sentiment from the set on the inside of the card as well.  Of course the metallic enamel shapes didn't photograph well but they look good IRL!  Oh, the sign and the snowman are two separate stamps; I just used a marker to draw in a wee bit of snow between them.  And you can't tell at all from the picture but I used clear Wink of Stella on the snow to give it a bit of shimmer.

Upload your creation at the Nacho blog and have a wonderful holiday season!

Christmas Train

I tried pretty hard, but there was one Christmas stamp set in the holiday catalog that I just couldn't resist, and it arrived at my house on Monday afternoon.

I don't know why, I just love that train.  There's also a cute snowman, jingle bell, and a North Pole sign with three sentiments.  As simple as the layout is on this card, I wouldn't want to mass produce it because that train took me for.ev.er. to color in!  But I will definitely put in the work on it for a scrapbook layout sometime in the future.

The inside of my card, the jingle bell isn't *quite* dark enough to make out easily but I didn't want it interfering with the sentiment either.

I used the Fab Friday color challenge:

I used some other colors on the main image, but I kept those three as the main colors for the card.  And I used today's Freshly Made Sketch:

Great sketch, lots of scope for imagination as Anne Shirley would say.

Well, if we're going to have spaghetti for dinner tonight I'd better go hit up the grocery store.  Cheers, peeps!
