A Baby Frosty Nacho :)

Ya know, Tuesday used to be my favorite day because it was the regular time for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, back in the day when there was a new show every week.  But now Tuesdays means Nacho Average Challenge day, and this week it's a color challenge!

Since it's now December, I'm gonna go along with this whole Christmas thing...no more leaves for a while anyway.  Though those colors might be interesting with leaves.  Anyway, I bring you baby Frosty!

One of the stamps in Best of Snow is Frosty's MiniMe, isn't he cute?  And the way I die cut him in a circle and then painted on the background he kinda looks to me like he's in a snow globe.  I used last week's SCS sketch for this one, the idea just popped into my head.  What do you think?

Go see what the other Nachos have for you today and then get inky with this fun color combo!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Best of Snow, Warmth & Wonder (small snowflake), Christmas Messages
Ink:  Basic Gray, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, Real Red & Garden Green (those last two were for the holly on his hat)
Paper:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White, I Am Me DSP (oooh, didn't know you could do Christmas cards with that, didja?!)
Accessories:  Circle & Festive Flurry Framelits, Pool Party baker's twine (retired), Dimensionals

Christmas Rose

Honestly, I don't want to think about making Christmas cards yet; I'm having too much fun with fall cards.  But last week's SCS color challenge was definitely Christmasy so here it is anyway.

Dude, I think that picture is practically life-sized.  I'd stamped a couple roses tone-on-tone with Cherry Cobbler ink when I thought hey, I wonder how this would look with the 2-step stamping done with gold EP?  So here's the answer, and I still have a pair of cherry-red roses waiting for the next project to come along.

The sketch is courtesy of the folks over at Freshly Made Sketches, I love sketches like these with lots of room for the imagination.

So there you have it, an early Christmas card.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Stippled Blossoms, En Francais, Christmas Messages
Ink:  Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, VersaMark

CreativeCrew: Vellum

My term on the CreativeCrew is at its end; this is my last card to share as a Crew member.

For this particular challenge, I used vellum and it's been quite a long time since I last did that.  I embossed the vellum with the Argyle embossing folder, which gave me a kind of an interesting look.  And for some reason I'm kinda stuck on this teal-with-a-pop-of-red color combination for these snowflakes :)

It's been fun and I'm looking forward to participating in the CreativeCrew challenges in the future.

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Festive Flurry, Christmas Messages
Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Real Red
Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Vellum, Coastal Cabana (lining the inside)

Snow Flurries in Bermuda

Howdy, folks!  It is, once again, rather warm in England so we're thinking cool thoughts of snowflakes today.

I made this for a swap I participated in a little while back.  I'm really glad to have Bermuda Bay back, and I love Coastal Cabana too...bonus, they look great together :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh What Fun!

Because I am crazy (just ask my husband, he will corroborate that statement), on Friday afternoon I decided to tear apart my craft room...specifically, the closet.  All of a sudden I had this sudden urge to purge and reorganize.  I blame the heat for making me crazy.  Or possibly it was jealousy of all those lucky people who were at Stampin' Up!'s convention last week.  Or both.

This is pretty much what it looked like when my sweet hubs got home on Friday:

I was up until around 11:00 Friday night cleaning up that mess I created.  But now my closet is more organized, I have piles of things to send to certain people plus some stuff to donate, and a weirdly large pile of things to go in the recycle bin.  Seriously, where did the recycle mess come from?

But you know what's even more fun than organizing stuff?  New stamps, of course.

Say hello to some new goodies soon to debut in the holiday mini catalog:  Festive Flurry and Christmas Messages.  Festive Flurry has four large snowflakes AND there are coordinating Framelits be still my heart!  And in the center of the snowflake I used one of my brand new candy dots.  Those are pretty fun too and you can't beat having them in every color.  (Except Baja Breeze.  Which I'm still sad about.  Baja Breeze still lives in my Subtles drawer of cardstock because I refuse to believe it's gone.)

I got the color combo from the latest challenge at Fab Friday, and at first I was going to do the Real Red panel as Whisper White with a pattern on it.  So I stamped some Whisper White with a splat from the My Paper Pumpkin welcome kit in Real Red and at first I thought oh yay that is fun and then I thought waaaaaiiit it kinda looks like blood spatter on snow.  Like a horror movie set at Christmas time.  So I swapped that out for plain red cardstock and now my card is normal and not all twisted horror movie.

So, now that you all think I'm crazy too, here's the challenge logo from Fab Friday:

Our weather widget says it is currently 90 degrees here, which wouldn't be so bad except for the part where no one in England has AC.  Clearly I need to stamp more snowflake cards in an effort to think cool...

Thanks for stopping by!
