I'll Be Your Candle on the Water

Hey, kids!  It's been one wild and ca-razy day here but I finally got a card made to share, and I really like it!

I've been wanting to pair the lighthouse stamp with that sentiment (and the corresponding "...and brightening the rest" on the inside) for a while now and today I finally found the perfect combination of challenges for it.  First up is this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And then the Paper Players' color challenge:

With those two challenges, it didn't take me long to put my card together.  And I think it turned out quite nicely :)

Well, I have a haircut appointment in 20 minutes so I'd better skedaddle.  Cheers, y'all!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  From Land to Sea, Me = Grateful
Ink:  Versamark, Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler
Paper:  Thick Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim DSP
Accessories:  Layering Circles Framelits, Dimensionals, Clear EP

p.s.  Do you recognize the song from my post title?  I think it's from Pete's Dragon (the original one).  I have several CDs of Disney songs from various movies so I'm not sure, but that one is a really sweet song and that's what this lighthouse made me think of.

Nachos: Angelic Thanks

Happy Nacho day, peeps!  It is time once more for a fantabulous Nacho Average Sketch Challenge!

I love a simple sketch with loads of possibilities.  That scalloped oval might be the perfect place to put a greeting, but it doesn't have to be.  Lookie:

Heyyyy I got the sparkle on the glimmer paper to photograph!  Anyway, I stamped both the sentiment from Me = Grateful and the angel from Christmas Cuties on watercolor paper, which kind of made the ink spread out a tiny bit and the images aren't as crisp as they would be on Whisper White.  On the other hand, the watercoloring looks better than it does on Whisper White ;)

Does anyone else wish that Haunt Ya Later had a devil stamp so you could make funny cards with an angel and a devil?  Just me?  Oh well.

Link up your Nacho-riffic creation on the Nacho blog so we can all see what you come up with.  Cheers, peeps!

Supplies, all SU!
Stamps:  Me = Grateful, Christmas Cuties
Ink:  Basic Gray, Wisteria Wonder, Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate (on the wings), Crushed Curry (on the halo)
Paper:  Wisteria Wonder, Marina Mist, watercolor paper, silver glimmer paper

Always There

Soooo peeps, I'm up early today.  I didn't do hardly anything at all yesterday thanks to the nasty headache I had, but eventually it let up in the afternoon and I made this card to share today.  Lookie:

I got the sentiment stamp set Me = Grateful on my last SU! order, I love the range of sentiments and the pretty fonts.

And the set is designed so you have one stamp for the front of the card and another for the inside if you so desire :)

My color combo today is courtesy of Cupcake Inspirations:

I used Delightful Dijon (not exactly peach, but the closest I could get with current SU! colors), Melon Mambo, and Soft Suede.

The layout is from Sketch Frenzy Friday:

I suppose I could have switched around the stamps so the smaller "thanks for being you" was on the card front and it matched the sketch a little better size-wise, but oh well.  I like it the way it is.

Now the question is what am I going to do with all this extra time today since I'm up so early.  Maybe I'll go take a nap, it's still dark outside...

Cheers, peeps!
