Small Warehouse finished

It’s taken some time to get around to painting the Warehouse, but it’s finally done.

I've the same colour palette as with the other rendered buildings.

The Doors Still open & close, Just! 😂

For the mossy roof i used a mixture of AK Interactive mossy deposits & Vallejo Slimey Grime Dark & normal paint just dabbed on

Scratch built 28mm Scale Small Warehouse/Workshop

I decided I needed another building, this time a small warehouse or workshop for the docks, with sliding front doors & a wrinkly tin roof.

I started the same way as any other building with foamboard walls & a card roof

I doubled up the roof though with a mounting board inner that fits between the walls & a thinner outer that just sits on top of the walls.
This was so that when the wrinkly tin roof panels are added they sit reasonably flush with the roof

The base is a sheet of plasticard with milliput rolled out and stamped with bricks. The brown bricks are standard grey/yellow milliput with a bit of brown stuff added, i really like the colour & wished i done the same with the forecourt

The building was the 'Rendered' inside & out with a mix of powder filler & PVA to get the right consistency, then rubbed smoothish with fine grit sandpaper (same as the last building!)

The Wrinkly tin is made from beer cans & I used my fancy new Green Stuff World Corrugator tool  (rather than the old block of wood with nails glued on it that i used to use!)

I will carry on with the build in my next post

Lead Adventure Forum Build Something Contest Building Revisited

I originally planned to make this building in February 2024 for the LAF Build Something contest.

I had it all designed & the walls cut out.

Then i thought it would be a goo idea to put the impact driver bit through the forefinger of my left hand & of course it went septic & I couldn't use it for about 6 weeks, which stopped any hobby related modeling completely.

So nearly 2 years later I thought that I'd better get off my arse & finish it 😂

I finished cutting out all the windows & doors, then got all the walls glued together.
The Doors, Windows, Head & Cills were all added next, then followed by the Yard floor & some paving round the front.
Then built the roof & Chimney, adding barge boards & Fascia's

Then using a mix of powder filler & PVA rendered the building

I wasn't entirely happy with the yard floor so I cut It off & made it the same as the Garage floor.

I needed to a Lamp to go above the doors so this building could be used as Police Station, I had already glued magnets into the walls to allow it to be removed.
I had been given a 3d printed Lamp already & needed to make a gallows bracket for it sit on.
I cut a piece of metal from a coffee tin, drilled a couple of holes in it & glued in a bent piece of paperclip. I then bent more paperclip to look like a scroll work infill

The building was all painted in various shades of Beige Brown & the roof a slate colour, with the doors & windows in Black

I will hopefully be using this with the Tenement Building & Quay in the upcoming Pulp Alley UK Games Day

A Few Pulp Miniatures

Just been trying to take some pictures of my Pulp Alley Leagues & some plot points, so I thought I might as well share them on here, as they’ve not been shown all together

First is The Tunbotham Detectives, then the next league is The Order of the Silver Cross a Vatican investigation team

Following after are the plot points, with some scratch built & bought bits.

Finally, there’s  three Perils 2 drunken sailors & a goose

Wooden Model fishing Boat kit

I picked up a model fishing boat kit from eBay, to use in Pulp & WW2 games. These had been recomended on the Pulp Alley players group!

These kits are supposed to be 1:50, but they aren’t! They are more like 1:76, below are the ‘instructions’.

Please be aware that if you are going to purchase one of these models, they are not for the faint hearted, they take some modeling skill.

It took me a while to build, as I was quickly got fed up with the dodgy instructions.
I had to decide what to do about the small cabin & decided to cut it down & build up the lower part to be able to place a figure inside the cabin. To hide the joins I Added vertical strips of card to look like wood planking. I also hadn’t built the full hull, leaving off the last bits of planking to form a flat base.

I also wasn't at all sure about how the rigging of the boat should look, so I searched about on the internet & found the picture below of a small fishing trawler & used this to rig the boat similarly.
Ive added bits of card & aluminium to the mast & rigging, I've also used some small brass 'hooks' to tie the ropes too, that are from model boat kits (I picked these up over 30yrs ago! So don't have a clue what they are from anymore)

Not being happy with the waterlining that I'd done, I decided to cut some more from the hull.

Of course I then wasn't happy & so added some an extra layer of balsa to raise the bow, finally i was happy 😃

Anyway, I eventually chucked some paint at it & the finished boat is below.

I still have to name her, I think I call her 'Nellie' after the boat in Conrads Heart of Darkness book.

Dave at Pulp Alley is also having fun building one of these & a Chinese boat as well over on his Youtube channel
