Sherman Troop

Ive finally finished my Troop of shermans for WW2 gaming, Bolt Action, Konflikt 47 & hopefully What a Tanker.
They are all plastic kits from Warlord games, a Sherman M4, a Sheman V & a Sherman V “Firefly”.
There are a few descrepancies between the older M4 kit and the newer V kits,
but not too noticable (unless you look really hard) & adding the Commander from the V kits helps.

Ive cocked up the  Squadron markings though 🙄
As they are supposed to be Guards Armoured &
they put them on the hull rather than the turret ☹️
But im not changing them now 😁
Well this is my third attempt to post this, so fingers crossed it will post.
Hope whoever is still reading my blog likes these

Cheers

US Sherman Tank

I found stashed in a box, a long discarded project a few weeks ago.
This resin Sherman had been bascoated, highlighted & shaded,
with the transfers applied & some washes applied.
As I never completed a US Army (I didn't like painting them & sold it a long time ago!)
I'm surprised that I ever started it!

Anyway I thought that I would give it some love & finish it off.
Might just have to go off to eBay though as I wont be painting any US troops.

6pdr Anti Tank Gun

I've been painting up a 6pdr AT Gun for my Konfikt 47 force.
I found this in the lead pile (I had completely forgotten that I had it!!)
I think it could be from Battle Honors Miniatures but I'm not sure,
as I bought it second hand & the Battle Honors website doesn't have very many pictures!

TURNS OUT IT'S FROM BLACK TREE DESIGN, IT DIDN'T EVEN CROSS MY MIND AS I DID NOT THINK THAT THEY MADE ONE (WHO KNEW!)

I have used the same method as previous posts for making & painting the wrinkly tin (using fizzy drink cans & a homemade press)

Hope you all like it
Cheers

K47 Reinforcements

Finished up some reinforcements for K47, Basic troops will do for Bolt Action as well.

I'm still not spending a lot of time on stuff as I'm wanting to get 1250pts painted pretty quickly.

As well as the troops above, I have some more Automatons

An Automated Carrier, I love this model,
I think it must be my favourite in the K47 range.
It still needs matt varnishing though

I've also taken a picture of a figure that I painted a while ago that I don't think I've shown before

Another New Pin Marker

Just finished making a new pin marker for K47/Bolt Action.
Its supposed to represent a REME Engineer,
holding (swinging) an adjustable spanner made from plasticard.
The figure is a plastic British inafantryman with all the webbing removes & a Warlord Games metal
SAS head wearing a beret & goggles.
I made most of the tools from plasticard & bits of brass rod.

The screw driver was made from plastic coated wire & the tool box is plastic box section.
The wooden box is a resin cast that I had, I don’t know the manufacturer though.
I also added a spare upper arm section from a K47 British Atomaton, if I can find a suitably small bolt I will add that, somewhere, to the base as well
I think that the only thing that is really missing is a mug o tea 😁

750pts For Konflikt 47

Just finished 750pts for the Weird War 2 game Konflikt 47

I had already painted the HQ figures & the Infantry Figures are Warlord Games plastic infantry, with TAG metal rifles instead of the plastic ones. I don't think that the painting is as good as I normally do, as I wanted to actually be able play a game before next year!!!!

The AT rifle is the one that I have previously posted

These WWW2 figures are from the Warlord K47 range Automated Infantry with MMG's.
The Automated Infantry are a pain to put together but worth it, I think they are my favourite models

Next up is a squad of Galahad Armoured Infantry all armed with LMG'S

Next is my version of a Guardian Light Walker.
I'm too tight to buy an official one, especially when I have some 1:35 scale Melusine MaK suits that would do the job. All I had to do was add a 50cal HMG another MMG on the right arm & cobbled together a flame thrower out of 40k weapons for the left arm & add a light from an old Ork dreadnought, some old Ork shoulder pads & a Visor/Window from a bit of plasticard.

Boys AT rifle for Konflict 47

Just started work on a Boys AT Rifle team to use in Konflict 47

Ive used a plastic warlord games british infantryman, same technique for the wall as done for the home guard.
The Boys AT Rifle is a 1:35 one cut down, with a metal rod added for the barrel & a plastic rod flash suppressor. I added a shield from plasticard just to make it look a bit different.

ETO SAS Jeep for Bolt Action

I've just been converting a SAS Dessert jeep to a European Theatre SAS Jeep, I don't know the manufacturer of the original Jeep miniature, but the crew are Warlord Games SAS crew.
I made the fuel tanks from some plastic box section & plastic strip, the extra rear armour plate is plasticard as well
Hopefully I will try to get it painted over Christmas

Converted Boy Scout Runner

After reading some time ago about Home Guard Units using Boy Scouts as Runners for sections I thought that it would be nice to have a few available for my Army & as no one makes them I needed to make some!
I have managed to get a couple of the fantastic plastic Desert Rats from the Perry's from Duncan (dijit) over on LAF & Some of the Lemon Squeezer hats directly from Perry Miniatures to have a play about with & see if I could convert them to Boy Scout Runners.
I had read all-over the net about how small these miniatures were & I thought that as they were already in shorts it would be a doddle to convert them.
Any way they aren't as small as I thought & are of a similar height to the Perry sculpted Wargames Foundry WW2 range, but they are thinner build (as in more true proportioned) so I had more to cut from the figure than I thought I would!
Below is a picture of the Prototype showing the cut points in blue.

I just cut the plastic & trimmed sections out with a hobby knife at the marked points & glued it back together using plastic-weld some of the joints have been strengthened with super glue. I added a Knecker from green stuff & the Stave is a bit of a paper clip. I trimmed round the puggaree on the hat to make it thinner like the ones on the Scout hats.

Boy Scout from the Opposite Side

Next to a Foundry Commando (Going to be part of the Auxiliary Section) to see the size difference. I think that he could pass as 15 to 17yr old.

I hadn't intended to use this one & just use it as a prototype, but I'm please with how he turned out so I think I will chuck some paint at him & see how it looks.

Cheers

It's for some much needed transport for my Home Guard Army.

The Lettering and logo are home made decals,
that I drew in Autocad & printed on decal paper purchased from Ebay.

Warlord release Pictures of Cpl. Jones

Warlord have released a picture of Cpl. Jones from there 'Official' dads army figures.
I've been very excited about the release of these Paul Hicks Sculpted figures,

But I must say that I'm quite underwhelmed by this picture, I expected a lot more, what, I don't really know, I suppose, it should be head & shoulders better than the old Foundry one & I don't think that this does that. Whether its just the angle of the figures in the picture?
& they've painted the gaiters the wrong colour!!!

The Lion Has Phones

I've been making & painting this in bits & bats for a few months now (since I did the sniper)
Its an Objective marker for the demolition mission in Bolt Action, it's made from plasticard & plastic box, the sand bags are a resin piece from the defunct Crusader 36 with the Phone box & figures the usual Foundry pieces, with the guy on the phone made up from the leftover bits from making the sniper.

I have based it on a scene from the Dad's Army episode 'The Lion Has Phones' where they all have to learn how to make a phone call.
I may add some more figures etc. at some point.

Winter War Test Figure

Well I've succumbed to the Winter War Kickstarter Campaign pledging for the £60 finnish platoon deal. So i thought that I'd best have a quick go at painting a white Snow uniform, I didn't have any winter troops so i used a black undercaoted Black Tree Designs Fallschirmjager figure & here's the results:

The paints that I used are behind the figure they are Vallejo panzer aces & P3 they are:
Splinter Cam base, German winter tanker white, Stencil & some final highlights of White.
Overall I'm happy with the out come, the splinter base is a very pale green & the others are just off white, I think for Characters I would Mix the Splinter Base & Winter White together for another layer.

Latest Bits

Well I've had a quiet few weeks with the nice weather but I'm getting back into it!

First off here's a couple of conversions of Foundry Home Guard.
I cut a shooting rifleman & the kneeling guy that comes with the telephone box in half & swapped the bodies round added a bit of GS & glued a scope on the kneeling bloke to create a Sniper & a Guradsman Holding open the Phonebox Door

I also made a scenic base fom plasticard for the sniper.

Next up is a couple of Vickers Light Tanks.
These are from Company B, but picked up a couple of extra turrets from Warlord Games & magnatised them, so that I could hve either HMG armed or Auto Cannon armed tanks

They are painted with Vallejo Reflective Green & have an Earth colour drybrush & wash in certain points, next is the pigments.

Finally I've got round to taking a picture of the dog that i got at Partizan on the Smith Gun Base

I'm still not sure about the dog though
