The gun control debate rages anew in the wake of last month’s Florida high school mass shooting. While there may not be a fix-all solution, the vast majority of Americans agree: Something must be done.
Sometimes, humor is the best way to present an issue ― even a serious one. Alex Clark and his animation studio broke down the gun control debate in a way that the internet would surely understand: with cats.
Now I am not completely on board with everything in this video, as I don't really see ANY guns as cute and cuddly.
However I do agree that there are responsible gun owners, and if their guns are never used to injure of kill another human being they are not really part of the problem.
However I would also suggest that there be laws to limit how many guns a person can own, and what kinds of firearms are reasonable for private citizens to have in their homes.
Just like the crazy cat lady who ends up being devoured by her pets after she slips and falls in the kitchen, there is a point where having too many guns is just a recipe for disaster.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

I'd watch the hell out of this.
Courtesy of NBC News:
Missing the infamous bromance that is former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden? The justice fighting dynamic duo has joined forces in a new show titled “Barry & Joe: The Animated Series”, created by director and writer Adam Reid.
In the trailer of the adult animated sci-fi sitcom, Obama and Biden travel back in time after the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, with the mission to alter the course of history and save the future.
Barry and Joe, as they are affectionately called in the series, are guided through history's ups and downs by present day astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Tyson appears in the form of an augmented reality that only they can see.
I actually stopped watching cartoons when I was a kid.....when I stopped going to college.....okay last year. But I would TOTALLY watch every episode of this just to get a little of that sweet Obama/Biden magic back again.
God they were magnificent together, weren't they?
What? Are you saying you can hardly remember that?
Well sit back and enjoy the awesomeness of the Obama-Biden bromance.

Mitt Romney's Web of Influence.
Very interesting. And disturbing.
(If image does not enlarge, you can click here.)
By the way since we are on the topic of Mitt Romeny, did you know that he and Seamus got the Taiwan animation treatment? Well they did.

Palin defends Newt. The animated version.
Animation: Palin Defends Newt (Actual Audio) from scottbateman on Vimeo.
Somebody sent me this link from the Daily Kos. Here is the transcript, for those who don't speak Palinese.SARAH PALIN: Well, look at the players in the establishment who are fighting so hard against him. They wanna crucify him, because he's tapped into that average, everyday American Tea Party grass-roots movement that has said "enough is enough" of the establishment that tries to run the show and, and um, tweak rules and laws and regulations for their own good and not for our nation's own, own good, well, when, both party machines and many in the media are trying to crucify Newt Gingrich for hav...for bucking the tide and bucking the establishment, that tells you something, and I say, you know and, you gotta rage against the machine at this point in order to defend our republic and save what is, what is good and secure and prosperous about our nation. We need somebody who's engaged (something something) reform and isn't afraid to shake it up, shake up that establishment. So, if for no other reason, rage against the machine, vote for Newt.
I love how they made the wig twitch and expand in response to a particular point she was making.
Makes me wonder if we have a Daily Kos visitor here, or if they simply noticed as if that thing looks like it might be alive just like we did?

By the way it has now been ten days since Sarah Palin's biggest fan last tweeted.
Has anybody thought to start dredging Lake Lucille yet?

Did you have an enjoyable Rapture Day? Well here are some who certainly did not!
| "What? Who thought people would actually believeme? |
I think those of us who tend to think, rather than believe, had little difficulty having a relaxing, and sometimes comical, Rapture Day. However there are those who spent the day in complete disbelief as they had their "gullibility hymen" ruptured, and their innocence ripped away from them.
Courtesy of the LA Times:
Keith Bauer, a 38-year-old tractor-trailer driver from Westminster, Md., took last week off from work, packed his wife, young son and a relative in their SUV and crossed the country.
If it was his last week on Earth, he wanted to see parts of it he'd always heard about but missed, such as the Grand Canyon. With maxed-out credit cards and a growing mountain of bills, he said, the rapture would have been a relief.
On Saturday morning, Bauer was parked in front of the Oakland headquarters of Camping's Family Radio empire, half expecting to see an angry mob of disenchanted believers howling for the preacher's head. The office was closed, and the street was mostly deserted save for journalists.
Bauer said he was not bitter. "Worst-case scenario for me, I got to see the country," he said. "If I should be angry at anybody, it should be me."
Tom Evans, who acted as Camping's PR aide in recent months, took his family to Ohio to await the rapture. Early next week, he said, he would be returning to California.
"You can imagine we're pretty disappointed, but the word of God is still true," he said. "We obviously went too far, and that's something we need to learn from."
Despite the failure of Camping's prediction, however, he said he might continue working for him.
"As bad as it appears—and there's no getting around it, it is bad, flat-out—I have not found anything close to the faithfulness of Family Radio," he said.
Others had risked a lot more on Camping's prediction, quitting jobs, abandoning relationships, volunteering months of their time to spread the word. Matt Tuter, the longtime producer of Camping's radio and television call-in show, said Saturday that he expected there to be "a lot of angry people" as reality proved Camping wrong.
Tuter said Family Radio's AM station in Sacramento had been "severely vandalized" Friday night or Saturday morning, with air conditioning units yanked out and $25,000 worth of copper stripped from the equipment. He thinks it must have been an angry listener. He was off Saturday but planned to drive past the headquarters "and make sure nothing's burning."
Camping himself, who has given innumerable interviews in recent months, was staying out of sight Saturday. No one answered the door at his Alameda home, though neighbors said he was there.
You know I want to be sympathetic, but I just can't. These people were clearly born to be taken advantage of. As a matter of fact, one has to wonder just how many of THESE people are also SarahPAC contributors?
But the group that I CAN feel sympathy for are the children of these brain damaged imbeciles. I mean there are actual human beings who rely on these apparently lobotomized morons for food, and shelter, and guidance. I think that the local child protective services should go to their houses and take these children into state's custody before their parents convince them to do something even dumber, like get all of their information from Fox News, or go on DWTS while pregnant, or support Donald Trump's 2016 Presidential bid.
All in all the entire thing is ripe for parody. And fortunately we have the Taiwanese animators to do that very thing.
Yes, that is about the level of seriousness this whole thing deserved. If even that.

Now this is a must see! The Taiwanese use animation to explain Christine O'Donnell, Sarah Palin, and the Teabagger movement in the GOP. You are going to want to swallow your coffee before viewing. Trust me.
Okay that may be the funniest thing I have seen all week!

Count "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane as one of those NOT intimidated by Sarah Palin and her crazed followers.
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
"Family Guy" will likely bring back a character that made headlines for angering Sarah Palin.
Creator Seth MacFarlane told Comic-Con audiences that "Down Syndrome Girl" would likely make a return to the show and even sang the character's theme song live to the San Diego crowd.
"My guess is that at some point we will [bring her back]," MacFarlane said, "despite all the Palin business."
The incredible backlash directed at Seth MacFarlane was fairly impressive, even by Palin-bot standards.
It is always very gratifying to see somebody emerge from that kind of vicious attack even stronger and more determined to continue doing what they have been doing, with even more energy and creativity.
My Family Guy viewing is sporadic at best, but you can bet I will make sure not to miss this one.
You know anything that pisses Sarah Palin off is "must see TV" for me.

Actress who provided voice for Down syndrome character on the "Family Guy" says that "former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor."
Ms. Palin, whose son Trig also has Down syndrome, has said that the “Family Guy” show “really isn’t funny” and was the work of “cruel, cold-hearted people.” Ms. Palin’s daughter Bristol has written that the “Family Guy” writers were “mocking my brother and my family,” and called them “heartless jerks.”
One person who supports the “Family Guy” staff is Andrea Fay Friedman, the 39-year-old actor and public speaker who played Ellen in that episode. Like the character, Ms. Friedman also has Down syndrome.
In an e-mail message sent on Thursday to The New York Times, Ms. Friedman wrote:
I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line “I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska” was very funny. I think the word is “sarcasm.”
In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes."
Oh this is perfect! I am absolutely loving the fact that Sarah Palin "Champion of Down syndrome children everywhere" is getting schooled by an actual person with Down syndrome!
Take a look at this part of the interview where Andea Fay Friedman explains to Sarah who was REALLY being made fun of.
Q.When did you find out about the reaction that the episode elicited from Sarah Palin and her family?
A.[laughs] That I did not even know about until my mom told me, “You’re on Channel 4!” And when I watched on Channel 4, on “Extra,” and I saw Sarah Palin with her son Trig. I’m like, “I’m not Trig. This is my life.” I was making fun of Sarah Palin, but not her son.
Now do you get it Sarah? They were laughing at YOU, not little Trig, YOU.
So stop hiding behind your children and face your critics like a real Alaskan woman.
Yeah fat chance of THAT happening!

Presto!
The Pixar short that was shown before the movie "Wall-E" started was almost better then the feature. I laughed out loud several times.
Do yourself a favor and spend five minutes and nineteen seconds watching it.
You will not be disappointed.
