Grace, for all her multiple lives as a Tate is naive and at sometimes insensitive, I especially didn't like her behavior with Josh and Seth (I am not a fan of Romance Triangles) and at times I felt like some of the plot was deliberately done for this Triangle scenario. there were some really good chapters, I really felt the grief that Emma's death created. The funeral scene and also the scenes straight after her death when Grace went to her favorite thinking spot. there's a big plot twist, and I'm assuming that will be the focus of book 2 Sacrifice. which I am starting now. Overall I enjoyed this book, and look forward to the next....more

It starts with a bang... Nastasya watches her best friend wrongly murdered in her place, Caroline was not in the story long, but in her brief scene, she was a friend indeed. She was gravely injured and knew her friends life was in danger, she told her to run, and Nastasya knew she had no choice.
This scene really pulled me in and kept me reading, ignoring chores ...more

Ms Babylon has a way of hooking you from the first few pages and before you know it, the days gone and you're still not wanting to put down the book.
This is Micah Shine's story, now he's a bit of a mystery and I'm sorry to say that we don't really get to know much more about him other than what he likes in bed (swoon/fan's face) and our main female lead is Kylie Miller, who works the Casinos with her friends... she's tough, smart and used to being able to con the gullible high rollers out of their hands.
Her father was murdered when she was a child and then her mother disappeared with her sister when she was just 16, she's had to be tough, and having to pay the mob a healthy cut of any profits. She's barely scraping by.
When she meets Micah Shine, who seemed as if he might be that mythical beast, an honest man. She dared think she'd hit some good luck, but wake's up to a whole heap of trouble.
Micah has an ulterior motive in gaining Kylie's attention, but he finds out he's more interested in her than he should be.... Who's conning who?
The book hints at both their pasts, but we only glimpse clues to what is really going on. Unfortunately we have to wait for the next book to find out.
I enjoyed getting to know these two new characters, and of course there's some hot scenes in it too. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out how they're going to get out of the pickle they're in....more

The boy who sees the real Fallon, a boy who stands up for her to her ass of a father. The author has great skill in making Ben come across as a nerd whos harmless and kind. But then he says something or does something that I saw more as controlling rather than a honest say it as it is scenario. And my opinion of where this book was going started to change. Now don't get me wrong... I can get some women are happy when a man is in control, but as the book progressed, Bens actions grated me and had me wanting to shake Fallon to wise up and see his manipulation and controlling nature. I will say that this books had me turning pages constantly to find out what happened next, and I've read it quickly considering I've not had much reading time. I flew through it especially in the beginning. As I got further in, I grew more annoyed at the way it was going. The premise of the plot was how a couple could meet and make a strong connection yet it be at completely the wrong time in their life, so they arrange to meet a year later.. I liked this idea its why I actually bought this book and because I like this author for the person she is, how shes come from nothing and has tried not to change now shes got a good life. Ive only read Never Never which I loved. But the back story of Fallons life and how it changed one tragic day... Mmm I'm not going to be too specific as I'm not a spoiler reviewer... But well when I got to the twist at the end, after all Ben says and does well it really F'd my head. So much so, I flipped back to the start of the book and boy did I read it in a totally different context I was mad at myself for liking him at the beginning. I was so glad Fallon finally finds out the god awful truth Bens kept from her, and did the right thing... But then We then skip to year 6...Then her mum ends up getting her to read Bens Manuscript and feels sorry for him.... (ok I did feel sorry for the 16 year old Ben, l choked up even... But still his complete deceitful act from age 18 to 23 is unforgivable) then after we have read up to chapter 5 of bens actual manuscript I'm like WTF... I wanted to b!tch slap her... And thd way it ended (quite rushed imho) well I'm like OMG seriously this girl needs counselling. So I'm going to be giving this book a 2.9 because I think 3 is unfair to all the books I've given a 3 too that weren't portraying young women in such a submissive way, and because the authors kept me riveted, she invested me into the characters. Had me completely blinded to the plot twist (something that hardly ever happens to me). But did I like to message this book gives to young women? Hell NO. Heres the spoiler... That closet scene! when a girl says NO it means NO. Also... A girl shouldn't wear clothes because a man tells them to. I could go on but I'm tired and I need to go read a nice book so I get this story out of my head....more

Can't say which point as I would spoil the whole thing but ever since I have been rooting for this couple to make it to their HEA. There's been heartstopping moments, moments of joy... Moments of anger at the idiotic things teenage boys can do... This books got it all. One passage which really connected with me was this one:
'The truth was, no one ever lost, and no one ever failed. Life was a string of achievements, whether great or small and if you chose to look forward you moved forward. Always. You found your purpose again and again.'
The ending... that was beautiful, its truthfulness, I sobbed buckets and as I sit here trying to write this review through tears.
Thank you Ms Golland for writing a story that was a truly emotional roller-coaster, for keeping to your vision and not letting anyone tell you what rules you have to stick too. I loved how I got to grow up with Connor and Ellie throughout their epic love story. Everyone needs to read this book. It's one of my favourites of this year....more

I really loved diving back into Blair Babylons Billionaires world for this final (maybe) book in the runaway princess series. Flicka was one of my favourite characters.
Dieter was one character that has intrigued me since I started reading these books.
The road that Flicka has been travelling on has been one heck of a rough one for a princess, but she has a strong backbone and she survived, grew stronger and took care of baby Alina, oh there were moments when I ached for Alina and Flicka, I cried for that little child.
But don't fret, Deiter is on his way to rescue Flicka, and nothing or no one was getting in his way.
This book is a page turner (they all were to be honest) I thought about them when I couldnt read, stayed up longer just to get in 30 mnutes of me time to read this book, breakfast and lunch too.
I wasn't disappointed, I LOVE the ending, and can't wait for Max's story - now that is going to be one heck of a book - he is such a mystery!!!!...more

What can I say? Read this series, its well worth it, but beware its not all chocolates and roses, well the blurb says it all, so you can see it will be an emotional read...
Phoebe Reede has suffered unimaginable tortures at the hands of her captors. Now home and safe, she can’t let go of the things that happened to her. No amount of therapy or coaxing by her parents can draw her from her shell.
How can she learn to live again, when everything she loved about herself is gone?
Well, I am keeping this short... read and see for yourself.
So what can I say about this book, I read this book a few weeks ago when I was sent the book to review I dropped everything and started reading, and didn't stop.
Ms Irwin has proved she can write emotionally charged stuff, the feelings and emotions she has put down on paper are heart-wrenching, I felt Phoebe's pain, torment and frustrations.
The book quite rightly so is not a light tale, its dark, but there is hope, we should always have hope even in the darkest of hours.
I really can't wait for the next book, I know its going to be worth the wait....more

I will say this was a hard book to read in one sitting, I had to take breaks at certain points because my heart and throat and eyes couldn't take it. Even as I neared the end, I had to go do something else as I was crying so hard I couldn't see my kindle! and I will say the warning is correct, this is NOT a romance, it's like reading an episode of Criminal Minds, the tension, stress of the investigation came over strongly in Ms. Leigh's writing.
I have been a fan of T.K. Leigh since I met her in 2015, I bought her Beautiful mess series at the Readers and Writers Down Under Signing, at the recommendation of a facebook friend, Shaneen introduced us and T.K. was such a lovely person, very supportive and free with her advice for new authors. I am sad to admit that those books are still unread on my bookshelf! WELL NO MORE, I am making time to read them this month (Somehow) #bloggerproblems! (very carefully so not to spoil the books, I really hate opening my signed books to read) #Bookaholic
So I read this book blind, with no knowledge of the series. I think I am glad in a way because I went in with no preconceived ideas on what to expect.
At first I was thinking it would be a 3 - 4 star as I had a bit of a hard time relating to Rayne, I couldn't understand how she had gotten so lost, that she would consider something so heinous. Even when I learned about why she was so low I couldn't understand how she thought that Alex Burnham deserved what she was planning to do. As I read on I got more involved, the story started to give me my answers, but also would give me more puzzles to ponder.
I may have taken breaks from reading to do other things, but my mind was constantly trying to work out what was going on, what would come next and whether Melanie would survive.
By 61% I was hooked, by the complexity of the plot and as the clues for Melanie's kidnapping were revealed the tension mounted.
As Alex and the Authorities try to piece together the clues to who has taken Melanie, Alex's life and those around him are put under the microscope.
TK has done a very good job at expressing the anguish, the neverending torment of questions a parent would ask themselves if dealing with this situation.
I lost my youngest in a shopping centre when he was 6 years old, he was found 15 minutes later, but the agony of not knowing, the rampaging thoughts of what may have happened, my heart was so painful and to this day it's as fresh in my mind and it was 20 years ago.
This remembered pain, well it came back in spades reading this book, I had a lump in my throat, at times tears, and a sense of anguish, as events unfolded.
This is a good book, but its dark, its tragic, but compelling and the emotions that come across the pages feels so real, you would think it was based on experience (god forbid).
But I guess that becoming a mother herself was all that the author needed to channel the emotion she would need to write this book. This book encompasses every parent's nightmare. All I could think while reading this book was how I would cope in Olivia's shoes. I tend to immerse myself into a story so, as I said and even now when writing this review I was getting choked up.
I could write more, but I don't want to put too much in the review, I recommend you grab a copy and read it yourself (With tissues at hand).

This debut novel by Jennifer Micheal is not a fairytale, it's quite raw and brutal, you would not want to be Paisley or Braelyn, foster sisters that were thrown together as children, escaped the brutal foster care system to the streets. Brae soon figures out her body can earn her an easier life, but Paisley bless her goes the hard route of waiting tables. They exist together, both are scarred by their upbringings Paisley and Brae only have each other... until they don't. When Paisley goes with Brae to a party in a swanky part of town, she runs into Burke, arrogant, alpha and totally Hottt! Paisley butts heads with him in their first encounter, but her stare down and smart smack down to his assumptions gets Burke interested. Burke, his best mate Kai, and his younger sister Teagan run a Tattoo shop, and other not so Legal businesses, and have been a family unit since Teagan was orphaned at 10 and the boys were 18, They are loyal to each other, but lo behold anyone who crosses them or threatens Teagan!
Paisley's path crosses with the 3 at the Diner she works at, and eventually Paisley decides to let fate take its course, and the pair are soon hot and heavy.
Now I thought this was going to turn into a typical Dark romance - bad boys, shady dealings and the not so pretty side of the street. But this book actually has more.
There is no telling where hearts belong or loyalties lie when deceit is in bloom.
THIS is so true This book really will have you head scratching, kindle throwing and wanting to go shout at the author for that Cliffhanger... BUT look she warns you in the blurb, so we shouldn't be that surprised.
Jennifer has done a very good job at both creating the relationships between the characters, they are flawed, selfish at times but overall they make sense. Teagan seems the most innocent, and I do worry about what will happen in book 2 with her. (cryptic much, but I do not do spoiler reviews and I really think this book is best read with not much information.) There are a whole bunch of twists and half truths that will have you madly trying to think of what the heck is really going on. Seriously I hardly got any sleep last night, my mind would not quit trying to figure out what was going on!
Author Note: Deceit in Bloom is book one of a series and ends in a BIG, dramatic cliffhanger (No joke). The story continues in book two, Vengeance in Bloom.
and has promised book 2 will be out in March, but boy it will be a long wait.
The book has some violence and there are plenty of hot scenes, so it's definitely 18+ but I for one will be adding Jennifer Michael to my Authors to follow, and I can't wait to find out what the heck is going on with Paisley... I hope I get a HEA, but the author did say that its NOT a fairytale so I may have to toughen up! ...more
