Finally, the ménage has come to some kind of common ground. My only thing is that I have no thoughts from "The Master". Jean Claude is a second thought in this story, which makes it hard to believe that he has simple agreed to the term Anita has placed on him and Richard. But we shall see! ...more

I want to start by saying this is not what i expected. Now don't get me wrong, i love Hamilton's books (especially this series). This one just didn't have the umph that the rest has. With Merry, i expect the politics, murder, danger, sex, everything. This was missing so much.
The Queen of the Unseelie was so unlike the woman i had grown to love to hate. She did a complete 360 which is unreal after the death of Cel. I expected more hatred from her. I really believed she would go after Merry for the death of her son.
Merry, Frost and Doyle have grown into a beautiful couple. The way they rely on each other for comfort. The way it is ok for Doyle and Frost to be so close. When Frost cries, it is not a big deal but when Doyle cried, i cried with him.
I got to see more of each man in Merry's life. However the mind blowing sex i had become accustom to was gone. Just a little foreplay, a little talking about what they want to do to each other, very minimum shinning (if you know what i mean). I want my faerie sex back. It was so different from anything i had ever read. (Especially when Doyle , Sholto or Mistral is involved....more

It is well written and very descriptive. The thing that draws me the most is how expressive everything is. Whether it is the emotions or just describing how the throne room looks, i can picture it, feel it. Laurell is giving us time to get to know each character as they come into play (not just throwing them all in at one time). We get to ride the emotional roller coaster of each sidhe, goblin, demi-fey, and slaugh as the story takes its twists and turns. I love it....more

The most intriguing aspect of this book is the development of her relationship with Jacob. They experience so many twists and turn, ups and downs. Neither wanting to come to true terms of what the other NEEDS the relationship to be. Neither being able to resist what they WANT the relationship to be. The dynamics of every emotion was amazing. And when Lyssa finally gave into her true desire, I was almost speechless. This is the perfect way to begin a series. Leave the storyline in the background and give the reader a full understanding of the main characters. ...more

There is a very slow and enjoyable buildup until you get to the end. And this is the ending we all waited on. Who else has an issue with how it ends?? I am completely in love with Doyle and Frost as i am sure many are. They are two sides of one coin and share something between them that no one else does. As the nameless takes them all i wait for the end to strike. Also i have seen many reviews on how the story is too slow but that is what i like about it. The slowness allows for me to get into it and leaves room for the other books in the series to have depth....more
