I’m all for a tormented hero who believes he is anything but a hero. Eva was very well written, a little slow at times but definitely realistic in her actions. Which is hard to come by sometimes in these insta love type of books. And yes I completely disagree with the enemies to lovers thing because no way. They are both just assholes who learn to love the quirky assholeness. It doesn’t magically go away, such a nice change. The drama is there, a little darkness with a pinch of danger, the sexual tension is steeaaming. Count me in. ...more

It was 100% a rant. The book has triggers but isn’t as dark as most think. It’s all purely physical anguish. Not bone deep psychological trauma. Cause I have definitely drowned in a few that will have you crying by the end. I was a good dark dive though and definitely stood up to the expectation I had. Most either loved it or hated it. I see why. ...more

And believe me there was a lot of sex but i found myself rushing through those shorts scenes to get back to the crazy. Which by the way would have made this a 5 star read!! He was such a dark, damaged soul. As for Samantha, she actually made me laugh at times. Especially the part about her Stockholm syndroming herself. Definitely not her brightest moment. Although she was the cliche kidnapped victim, she surprised me with her will of defiance. ...more

That is the only thing i can say. Although this is slightly dark, the bigger picture is so much more appealing than the twisted picture it could’ve been. Me being me, i am a little sad that scenes with Marco were rushed and kept short. He is the only true darkness in this story. Kenneth, who I absolutely loved (sue me) was fighting a losing battle right from the beginning and he knew it. Anita was just stubborn. I kept waiting for her to just simply ask Kenneth to buy her from Marco but nooooo Ms Difficult, but i guess that would’ve been way too easy. Overall, i am extremely pleased with the development as well as the outcome (and im not one for hea). The characters were just right for the plot itself. I felt the energy of it, my imagination ran with it, and my mind was completely wrapped up in it. Hell i felt invested, hence the reason it is 3am and i have been reading all night. ...more

Ellie and Fury has a very strange and dark past. In the end, they overcome every obstacle put in their way (and there are many). All the charactThis was so different from other post apocalyptic books i have read. It was unique in its history and adventurous through its journey. All the characters were thoroughly different and complex enough to be realistic. This is a story of overcoming ones internal instinct and believing fate has far more planned to bring happiness. No matter the desires he craved his heart was always in the right place. He was brutal at times but also fair.
As for Julie, she was definitely not right for the part until she came to her senses about herself. There is no amount of naivety that will allow a person to not know something so basic about themselves. Unless there was a reason why, being raised deep in religion doesn’t count, religion does not cut the flow of fantasies inside your brain. ...more

The story progresses beautifully until the truth comes out and then everything is in the land of the stupid and unbelievable!!! I can say nothing else. The end was just not normal or what happens immediately after being kidnapped. It was stretching things far beyond what was acceptable. Even for me!...more

Brian was the saving grace of this story. He was emotionally screwed up but found a someone who could possibly understand, even if he never used her for that purpose. Someone who would judge him based on that understanding and be justified. He is still a sadistic fuck but he is so much more and he is capable of having peace within his darkness.
I simply hated Lindsay but i do understand his importance in the way the story is played out.
Mina was stupidly helpless. The only good thing was that her thinking process was realistic. Her trying to analyze why she kept attracting the kind of men she did. However, this no intercourse thing is unnecessary. It's as if it was just thrown in for good measure. Why bring it up if she couldn't even explain to herself why she refused it? All she said was she couldn't get off that way, like some other women (who still on some level enjoy penetration). Was it just to cement the idea of how the other "boys" in her life defiled and took what wasn't freely given?!?! I'm slightly confused....more

The characters were amazing. Anna has to be the best female lead i have ever encountered. She was so complex and troubled. Spending her whole life trying to be better, trying to suppress her true self. Her rise and downfall was perfect. It was so much easier to feel who she was and connect to her when she was her true self.
Braden was not really necessary. Him and his love for Anna is completely flawed. He kept mentioning the darkness inside him, i knew for sure i would find out how depraved he was. But no, i am left wondering why he even bothered. Anna goes against every fiber of who he is. After her slip, he should have learned and after he found out who she was he should have ran and never looked back.
OAN: I have this idea that "No one's" brother knows. And if not then who was he always talking to on the phone???!!!?!? It was definitely someone connected to their past! But who??
And why is Braden all of a sudden hell bent on finding out more about Jade??!?! After he found out he refused to acknowledge the murder but now its at the forefront of his mind. As if it will change his opinion of him and Anna. As if everything else was unimportant. As if Anna admitting to enjoying killing wasn't enough to put curiosity to rest! He has already decided what he would do, why keep digging the hole deeper???...more
