It should have been a quick read but I lost interest somewhere along the way. I did like Pixie though. He was real. The characteristics and qualities about him came together and made what could be a real person. Suzy not so much. She was aggravating and her reasonings were kind of stupid. She actually caused the chain of events for being the idiot of the story. She made him chase her. Finally gave in and began a steady friendship with benefits. Steady means almost daily which means technically you’re dating lol. You don’t have time for anyone else outside of that. However the push and pull continues. The excuses continue and as I see it Pixie is tired and puts his foot down. Lays everything on the line. So what!...more

Which by the way would have made this a 5 star read!! He was such a dark, damaged soul. As for Samantha, she actually made me laugh at times. Especially the part about her Stockholm syndroming herself. Definitely not her brightest moment. Although she was the cliche kidnapped victim, she surprised me with her will of defiance. ...more

Every book gets you prepared to be immersed in the world of Drayton’s Dolls. Only when you finally get there it is beautifully tame. I did love the idea and how much detail was put into the dolls. It was almost magical.
Once again i am misled and have come to understand that this series just grazes the edge of darkness, it never dives deep and drowns you. I originally gave this a 3 star rating but only because of the temptation given that was never quite satisfied. Other than that this series is a great read and the storylines are very detailed. Yes there is a lot of missed opportunity but not so much that the story is choppy.
Maybe another day i will move on with the series but as of now I believe i am done. ...more

I won’t spoil it so all i can say is i was quite surprised in the end of it all. Everything about this story was COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED!!!!
On another note, i gave it 3 stars because of the ending itself. This was definitely a forced hea. A story like this, that pushed so many boundaries, cannot have a forced ending. Add a few more chapters to ease me into an hea. Don’t just throw it in directly after the game is over!!! ...more

That is the only thing i can say. Although this is slightly dark, the bigger picture is so much more appealing than the twisted picture it could’ve been. Me being me, i am a little sad that scenes with Marco were rushed and kept short. He is the only true darkness in this story. Kenneth, who I absolutely loved (sue me) was fighting a losing battle right from the beginning and he knew it. Anita was just stubborn. I kept waiting for her to just simply ask Kenneth to buy her from Marco but nooooo Ms Difficult, but i guess that would’ve been way too easy. Overall, i am extremely pleased with the development as well as the outcome (and im not one for hea). The characters were just right for the plot itself. I felt the energy of it, my imagination ran with it, and my mind was completely wrapped up in it. Hell i felt invested, hence the reason it is 3am and i have been reading all night. ...more

This seems more like a Stockholm syndrome type of relationship but I was thoroughly captivated! I wish the chapters would have included Alexanders point of view because even in the end he is still mysterious. Only having one side of the story is frustrating. The story development was direct and still managed to twist me up inside. So many lies and half truths. So many bombshell truths that shatter the floor beneath you. For the dark and depraved this is definitely a story for you. If you can find enjoyment in Lily White, Pepper Winters or Alaska Angelini then this is the story for you! It literally set my little black heart ablaze!...more

Crazy that this little thing is what dictated most of the story for me. Every time they had sex i was thinking “well when is it going to happen?” I jut knew that she was going to be pregnant any day. Tristan has absolutely no redeeming qualities. I began to truly hate him in the last book because he was truly worse than Gabe. Then all of a sudden ITristan has absolutely no redeeming qualities. I began to truly hate him in the last book because he was truly worse than Gabe. Then all of a sudden I’m expected to understand how Zach could possibly fall so deep that he leaves his fiancée after 20 years of friendship and 10 years of romance. All they truly had was an intense attraction to each other. Yes I understand how you find peace with someone who truly gets under your skin but they practically didn’t know anything about each other until the very end. It was just sex and more sex. I did like Zach though so i guess it wasn’t all bad. ...more
