ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Nina Top 2.0 is worked from the bottom up on circular needles. First work the body in the round, then the neckline, then the
straps.
SIZES
XS (S) M (L) XL
Sizes above correspond to the following chest circumference:
76-80 (81-86) 87-93 (91-103) 104-114 cm
Measure your own chest circumference to determine which size will fit you the best.
YARN & MATERIALS
Approx. 95 (105) 115 (150) 175 g of Coton 3 from PHILDAR (50 g = 121 m / 100% Cotton)
Yarn alternative: Cotton 8/4 from HOBBII
Circular needles 2,5 mm [ 80 cm ]
Circular needles 3 mm [ 80 cm ]
Double pointed needles 3 mm or a Knitting Mill (to work the straps)
Tapestry needle
GAUGE
As the gauge is a bit tricky to measure on net stitch, the gauge is indicated on in stockinette stitch.
26 stitches x 35 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch, on needle size 3 mm.
Make a swatch to achieve the same gauge as indicated above. Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on
10 cm = 4”, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm = 4”, change to a smaller needle size.

PATTERN
Read all of the instructions below and watch the video tutorials above before beginning your work. All the instructions below are
indicated using the english style.
TIP: Use 2 markers of different colors to indicate the right side and the left side. This will help you find your way later in the pattern.
The marker indicating the right side also marks the beginning of the round.
With the color Orange, cast on 126 (134) 142 (154) 170 sts on 3 mm [ 80 cm ] circular needles using the long tail cast on method,
place a marker to indicate the beginning of the round and the right side (marker A), join your work and knit 63 (67) 71 (77) 85 sts,
place a marker to indicate the left side (marker B), knit all sts to marker A.
Now, work in the round in stockinette stitch using the magic loop method until work measures 25.5 (26) 26.5 (27) 28 cm from the
cast on edge - or to the desired lenght.
Remember to swap colors every 9 rounds using the Jogless Stripes method.
TIP: Do not cut the yarn each time you change colors; carry the yarn along the back of the work throughout the body.
FRONT
Now, divide the front and the back to work the front in stockinette stitch back and forth as follows:
SET UP ROW
k3, SSK, k to 5 sts before marker B, K2TOG, k3, let the 63 (67) 71 (77) 85 sts for the back rest on cable, extra circular needles or a
piece of yarn while the front is being worked.
There are now 61 (65) 69 (75) 83 remaining sts on your 3 mm [ 80 cm ] circular needles.
From the next row, work a chain edge stitch at the beginning and end of each row. These stitches should be worked very loosely;
otherwise, the edges of the front will be too tight and the top will be uncomfortable.
Now work the front as follows:
Row 0 (WS): sl1p wyif, purl to last st, k1.
Row 1 (RS): sl1p wyif, k2, SSK, k to last 5 sts, K2TOG, k3.
Row 2 (WS): sl1p wyif, purl to last st, k1.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 a total of 7 (7) 7 (8) 8 times.
There are now 47 (51) 55 (59) 67 sts on your 3 mm [ 80 cm ] circular needles.
Then continue the decreases as follows:
Row 1 (RS): sl1p wyif, k2, SSK, SSK, k all sts to end of row.
Row 2 (WS): sl1p wyif, purl to last st, k1.
Repeat these 2 rows a total of 13 (14) 15 (17) 19 times.
There are now 21 (23) 25 (25) 29 sts on your 3 mm [ 80 cm ] circular needles.
FOLDED HEM
Knit 6 additional rows, continuing to work a chain edge stitch at the beginning and end of each row. Do not continue the
decreases.
Fold the hem inward and use the Folded Hem method to bind off the sts.
Break the yarn leaving about 20 cm long tail to weave in the end.
BACK
Place the 63 (67) 71 (77) 85 resting sts for the back on your 3 mm [ 80 cm ] circular needles. Start working from marker B as
follows:
Row 1 (WS): sl1p wyif, purl to last st, k1.
Row 2 (RS): sl1p wyif, k all sts to end of row.
Row 3 (WS): sl1p wyif, purl to last st, k1.
Now bind off all sts using the Folded Hem method. Bind off loosely. If you tend to knit tightly, use needles that are one to two sizes
larger to bind off the stitches.
I-CORD
If you have a knitting mill, you can use it to make a 77 (78) 79 (80) 81 cm i-cord or you can knit it by hand as indicated below:
NOTE: Leave 15 cm of yarn in front of the stitches you cast on; this yarn will be used to sew the strap to the back of the top.
With double pointed or circular needles 3 mm, cast-on 4 sts using the long tail cast on method, then work in double knitting as
follows:
Row 1: * k1, sl1p wyif * rep *_* a total of 2 times.
Repeat row 1 on RS and WS until the strap measures 77 (78) 79 (80) 81 cm.
Do not bind off the sts, let them rest on a safety pin.
Now thread the 15 cm long tail into a tapestry needles, and insert the strap into the front hem. Pin both side of the strap to
4 (4) 4.5 (5) 5.5 cm from sides A and B. Try on the top to make sure the strap is at a good lenght.
                                                                  WS OF FRONT
                                                       4 (4) 4 (4)
                                                       4.5 (5) 4.5 (5)
                                                       5.5 cm 5.5 cm
                                                                   RS OF BACK
If the lenght of the strap fits your perfectly, bind off the 4 resting sts and sew the strap on the WS of back.
If the strap is too long or too short, adjust to the desired lenght, then sew it on the WS of back.
