사이토크롬 P450 2A6(약칭 CYP2A6)은 체내 이종균제의 신진대사에 관여하는 사이토크롬 P450 혼합기능 산화효소계의 일원이다. CYP2A6는 니코틴과 코티닌의 산화를 담당하는 1차 효소다. 그것은 또한 여러 제약, 발암물질, 그리고 다수의 쿠마린 타입 알칼로이드의 신진대사에도 관여한다. CYP2A6는 쿠마린의 7-hydroxylation을 눈에 띄게 촉진하는 인체의 유일한 효소로, 이 반응의 산물인 7-hydroxycoumarin이 CYP2A6 활동을 위한 탐침으로 사용된다.
CYP2A6 유전자는 19q 염색체에 있는 CYP2A, CYP2B, CYP2F 하위가족에서 나온 사이토크롬 P450 유전자의 큰 군집의 일부다. 이 유전자는 이전에 CYP2A3으로 언급되었지만, CYP2A6로 이름이 바뀌었다.[4]
