For my card, I was itching to use some new stamps I bought at a recent craft event, such a bargain, I know it's  last year's model, but I am so happy to have eventually bought them. Stamping at Ruby's Rainbow

Hello, and welcome to my visitors, every individual visitor makes having a blog all worthwhile, but when you leave a comment, well, you have no idea how happy and upifting it is, unless of course, you too have a blog. For the next two weeks at  Ruby's Rainbow the theme is STAMPING. Come on ladies, let us see your stamping.  Please do pop over to see the wonderful samples from the Design Team. My card was made for the challenge in the Shabby Chic style, yet the topper started out as a tutorial at my card class.  I had a request to show how to use Flowersoft, which has been sprinkled on the baskets on the bike. The bike is a Katy Sue Designs stamp, one of their very first stamps, so I suppose it could now be called an antique stamp, but I still love it, it is so useful and versatile. The topper was coloured using Promarkers. The papers are a mixture from my stash. Embellishments consist of hessian, pretty flowery cotton ribbon, handmade flowers, Martha Stewart leaf punch. I look forward to seeing your stamping, enjoy the challenge and again, thank for popping by.

Use Something Wooden

At the Craft Room Challenge this week they are sponsored by The MDF Man, so they wish us to Use Something Wooden. I was fortunate to spend some time and money at The MDF Man's stall at Doncaster and bought myself some Christmas Baubles and a few other items. I painted mine with ordinary white emulsion paint, stamped and added gilding flakes to one and stamped a winter scene on the other. I used gold embossing on the red and silver embossing on the white and blue. I made these for a stamping swap I am involved in, I was so pleased my partner said how much she liked them, it was my first attempt at stamping onto painted wood.
Stamps used, Katy Sue both Greetings Stamps, Stamps Away Christmas Scene. Flower on Vellum -Sheena Douglas

Christmas in July at MMM

This week, at Make My Monday,  Laura has chosen for our theme - Christmas in July- I know I agree too soon for the Christmas word, but we crafter's do like to get ahead, and by making the odd one here and there it's amazing how quickly you'll find your last minute dash won't be as many. I always enjoy the first 25 or so and then it becomes a job not a fun element. Here we go, what did I do? I stamped with a Crafter's Companion stamp of Christmas Owls, coloured them with Promarkers, added a few snowflakes with a  small stamp, added Crystal Glamour Dust, must buy some more soon. Matted onto silver mirri card, layered onto a piece of  12 x 12 paper, added further sprinkles of glamour dust and a lovely sentiment from a Katy Sue stamp set. Have fun everyone, with your Christmas in July challenge.

Christmas In August

At My Time To Craft their current challenge is Christmas In August, there are actually 125 days till Christmas, still lots of time to get my Christmas cards made, but it helps along the way getting some made in advance, instead of the frantic rush leaving it short, as I often do. I attended a Ross Craft show locally recently and this card is the result of a few of my new stash.
I know, I don't do cute! Well I have to be honest and say, if I did, there is one stamp company I would be an ardent fan of and that is LOTV or otherwise known as Lily of the Valley. There stamps are wonderful. The backing papers are also from LOTV.  The stamp Joy is from Katy Sue Silhouette Stamps.
I have also entered
