Salt Technique

Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Thanks for your visit.
Today we begin a new challenge at Back to Basics and Beyond
Meg has chosen  Salt Technique --
Don't worry if this is a new technique or an old one
your not sure of, there is a direct link to a simple
tutorial on You Tube, so no excuses for not having a go.
Please pop over to see the fabulous inspiration by the DT,
also for the few rules and details.
This is the Salt Technique - close up.
You can see where the salt has soaked up the colour, and
has left behind the pattern.
I made a 5x7 card. I used TH Distress Inks
Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron and Fossilized Amber
Blended onto the card, followed the instructions as
mentioned above.
Stamps used - Sentiment - My Paper World.
Butterflies - The Works
Poppy seed heads - Crafter's Companion - Fairy Magic.
Pencils used to highlight areas on the poppy heads.
Why don't you go and try it , I guarentee it is fun.

Happy Birthday

The Cheerful Stamp Pad this week would like a Happy Birthday card, so this is my entry.  From one sheet of A4 card I managed to make 4 cards. I used 3 shades of TH Distress Inks, spritzed the whole page with water, then covered it in  patches with Sea Salt. If you want more instructions please go here to my Tutorial Blog. This is how the "blotchy" effect is created.  thanks for any comments, which are always appreciated.

Quirky Crafts - Silouettes

Thank you Quirky Crafts for the challenge of Silhouettes,  it's been a while since I had a messy play. For me the two go together. I have had a great time, blending the inks, splashing on water, throwing on salt. Then when dry giving a few sprays here and there to add more shimmer and colour. I then choose some recently purchased beautiful long stranded stems to stamp, using Memento Tuxedo black. The Stamps are by My Paper World, a very good price from a craft shop within a garden centre. The love birds are from an E bay purchase. I have only recently found your challenge blog ladies, and plan to visit each week, I will be joining in whenever I can.
