Woman or Women

Hi everyone, thanks for popping by, today sees the start of
the challenge at Cardz 4 Galz. To celebrate Mothering Sunday on 6th March (UK)
and International Woman's Day on 8th March, I have chosen
Woman or Women.
Please  visit the blog to see the wonders from the Design Team.
For my DT card I have chosen Retro/Vintage.
The background paper is from Hot Off the Press,
The 3 wooden backed stamps I purchased from E Bay some time ago,
Sadly they don't have any details on the wood, I think they were maybe
rejects but they stamp beautifully.  I used Archival Sepia tone ink.
A strip of lace, a few black gems and a greeting from Crafter's Companion
completes my card. Hope you enjoy the challenge.

We have returned from our break at Cardz 4 Guyz, and a ready for an interesting time ahead. Please check out the blog the Design Team and Guest Designer have provided some amazing and wonderful inspiration for you, mostly involving stamping, so I thought for an alternative form of card making, I would use a CD, for there are many who do participate in this craft. I have used from Kraftyhands - Man About Town. I used a scalloped Kraft card, the large background is a sheet from Father Knows Best from LOTV. Please take a peek, I'm sure you will love the inspiration on the blog.
Thanks again for your visit. I hope to see you when I start visiting the entries.

S is for Stitching

For the letter S at Alphabet Challenges  for the next two weeks our challenge is Stitching, this can be either real or faux. A good opportunity to show any items you have sewn, remember your project can be anything you have created. I made this vintage card for a recent class, the papers are from a Papermania paper pad Madame Payraud's. I drew stitch marks around each section to give the illusion the y were actually sewn together. It adds a little more interest to the card. The flowers were stamped onto red paper, the stamps from Sheena Douglas Flower Power stamp set. Have fun.

Vintage at ATSM

Addicted to Stamps and More   for this week the Theme Challenge is Vintage. a chance to bring out all the old vintage type papers, stamps, flowers, buttons, lace, pearls whatever you wish to add to your project.  For my card I started with the corset, from a Creative Expressions set - Vintage Lingerie. Then I wanted to add some lace, buttons, a ribbon until I thought I should stop adding. I think Vintage looks so romantic, so I hope you have as much fun as I did, making your project. I look forward to again visiting you.

V - Vintage at Alphabet Challenge

Isn't the year going fast? Or is that just me? Here we are at Alphabet Challenges - up to the letter V- Pat has chosen Vintage. Another excuse for me to make another Christmas card. It certainly is helpful getting my needed supply box filled. I have used a La Blanche stamp which I have had for many years but still enjoy using it. The background papers rather have a modern twist, they are from a LOTV Frosty Christmas Paper Pad. I coloured the main image using Promarkers, then added a lot of shimmery glitter glue. I am hoping this shows. Please do pop over to our main blog to see the lovely cards the design team have made to inspire you.

French Vintage

Oh! la!la! your cards for Paris last week were magnifique.  At Make My Monday, this week we would like you to continue with our French theme and produce a project to fit the title of  FRENCH VINTAGE.

The background paper comes from a  paper pad, which was free with a magazine, thanks to my very dear friend Diane for posting these to me. I used several stamps to add to the vintage look. Added lace and some spotty organza ribbon. I stamped the perfume bottles onto vellum, hoping to give them the see through look.
Stamps used - Floradora, Perfume bottles and various words  from Crafty Individuals. I look forward to visiting your blogs and leaving comments.  Many thanks to those who have popped onto my blog for your comments which are always appreciated. May I at this time say 'Hello and welcome' to my latest followers, I do hope I can continue to produce items on my blog which will maintain your interest and give pleasure. Thanks for following me.

3 Men on a Train

Hello everyone, on this wet, cold September Morning. This week sees our last visit on Make My Monday to Val's monthly choices of Vintage and we want to see any form of travel in days gone by. Please pop over to our main blog where the team and our guest designer Alyson have created some wonderful cards for your inspiration, this is my card.
The background paper is from http://freevintagedigistamps.blogspot.ca/ I then stamped a few hot air balloons. The 3 Wise Gentlemen are from Crafty Individuals, coloured with DIs. I don't know what the technique is usually called of the train, (an old stamp, not sure of the make) but I call it a Split Negative. I created the smoke by adding white, gold and touches of black Frantage for the smoke. I look forward to visiting your Vintage Travel creations. Have fun, I sure did.

Vintage Childhood

We had some stunning Vintage Wedding cards for last week's challenge at Make My Monday, I felt I wanted to go to a wedding. LOL. This week Val has chosen Vintage Childhood for us for the challenge. I look forward once again to visiting to see your interpretation of the theme. Here is my card. Firstly I would like to thank Val who directed me towards a Free digital downloads blog - check on my blog on the right side, the one with the hand pointing. This is where I found this wonderful image.
I decided to use a selection of Distress Inks TH which I used as watercolour paints. The hair and skin were coloured with Promarkers. The backing papers were from my stash and the bunting is from a Funkyhand CD.  Have fun everyone, I'll be popping round to see you all very soon. Many thanks for the comments which I always greatly appreciate.

Bingo at Fashionable Stamping.

For the next two weeks at Fashionable Stamping Challenges we are playing craft Bingo, it is all explained on the blog, please pop over to see the instructions, the few rules we have and of course the awesome samples made by the Design Team. Here is the Bingo chart for a reference if needed.
I decided upon the diagonal from left to right - Show some metal, Distressing and Vintage.
Any excuse to use my Kanban Jasper stamp set. The metal started life as a drinks can, cut, and placed with a script embossing folder into my Cuttlebug. I then coloured it with some alcohol ink. I have distressed two sheets of Debbie Moore Shabby Chic papers. Added a die cut flourish, a few flowers. I also made two butterflies using Shirley's template, I followed her You tube instructions which were an enormous help- here

A detailed close up. I used Promarkers and Sakura Gelly roll Pen to add colour.
Please check out the blog, I appreciate all of your comments and equally enjoy visiting your blogs.
I am also entering this into The Stampman Vintage Challenge
and to the Vintage challenge at The Craft Room Challenges

Retro Time

Crafty Bloggers Network this week have asked for Retro. I checked on  Google to be sure which decades fit into the retro period, the answer being anything during the 1950, 60, and 70,s so my card represents the excitement of foreign holidays for the lady from the 50's. Most of the stamps are from Tandastamps, the design paper is from a K&Co. Basic Grey paper pad.
I am also including this into the Craft Room Challenge for Shabby Vintage.

Vintage Colour Challenge at MAKE MY MONDAY

Firstly I would like to wish all American citizens  happy 4th July celebrations.
I can't believe our first month has ended at the new challenge blog Make My Monday. We have had some wonderful creations to look at, the previous month the main theme has been Flowers, which was Jacqueline's choice. We are now moving into our second month and the theme throughout will be VINTAGE, chosen by Fliss.  The first week is a colour challenge -
CREAM, BROWN and EITHER PINK  OR  BLUE
Papers I used are for the background a light brown colour from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Paper Stash, edged with TH Walnut Stain and stamped with scrolls, again using Walnut Stain Distress inks. The pink sheet, from the same pack, was slightly distressed, at the edges. I stamped the young lady using a La Blanche stamp, onto plain cream card, using a Memento ink pad Rich Cocoa. Add lace and pink  flowers as embellishments. The gentlemen and Across the Miles is from the Across the Miles A4 stamp sheet from The Stampman. The Thinking of You is a cheap sponge stamp from my stash. I look forward to see how you all create your project with the given colours in a vintage style.
