Interstitial Creatives
Learn how to add interstitial creatives to your campaign and configure all related settings.
An Interstitial creative is a full-screen ad that appears on top of the website or app content. The user sees your ad covering the entire screen and can either click it to visit your page or close it to continue browsing.
When adding creatives to an Interstitial campaign, you have four options:
- Image Assets — select an image from the Creative Library or upload a new one;
- Video Assets — use a video file as a full-screen creative;
- HTML5 Assets — add interactive or animated HTML5 creatives for richer ad experiences;
- 3rd Party Ad Tag — paste a tag from an external ad server to serve creatives directly from a third-party source.
Image Assets
- After saving your Interstitial campaign, you are redirected to the Add Interstitial Creative page.
- Click the Image Assets card.
- In the Creative Library, select an image using the radio button. To upload new images, click Upload Images in the top right corner.
- Click Select Image to proceed.
- On the Interstitial Creative Settings page, fill in the fields:
- Target URL — the destination page users land on after clicking the ad;
- Orientation — select Horizontal or Vertical if orientation matching is required. Leave empty to serve on all placements;
- Advertiser Domain / Bundle — used by SSPs (platforms that control which ads appear on publisher sites and apps) to allow or block your creative. Once you enter the Target URL, the system detects the final destination domain/bundle and suggests it below the field.
Kindly note!We recommend setting the suggested domain/bundle or entering it manually, if the system could not resolve the final destination URL. A missing domain or bundle may affect how SSPs evaluate your creative.
If you need more granular control over creative, expand Advanced Options on the same page.
- Bid Price — overrides the campaign bid price for this creatives.
- Frequency Cap (24 Hours) — banner views by a unique user per 24 hours. Overrides Campaign Frequency Cap for this banner.
- Frequency Cap (30 Days) — banner view by a unique user per 30 days. Overrides Campaign Frequency Cap for this banner.
- Creative Attributes — IAB Creative Attributes used as a targeting option. If an incoming bid request contains them in the 'attr' field, an allow-list is applied. If they are contained in the 'battr' filed, a block-list is applied.
- Creative Category — IAB Category. If an incoming bid request contains them in the 'cat' field, allow-list is applied. If they are contained in the 'bcat' filed, block-list is applied.
- Creative API Frameworks — API frameworks. Should only be used if required by an SSP.
- Rewarded (If Supported By SSP) — makes the interstitial rewarded if the SSP supports it.
Pay AttentionCreative Attributes, Creative Category, and Creative API Frameworks require the SSP to send this information. If an incoming bid request does not contain these fields, this creative will not be shown.
Additionally, you can set Tracking Pixels/URLs — pixels or URLs used for 3rd-party event tracking, which are added to ad markup and fired by the SSP each time it executes the Ad Markup.
Video Assets
Adding a video creative follows the same steps as Image Assets — select an .mp4 file from the library or upload a new one, then fill in the creative settings.
HTML5 Assets
You can create Interstitial creatives using HTML5 assets by following the same flow as Image Assets. Click the HTML5 Assets card, select a .zip file from the library or upload a new one, then fill in the creative settings.
The only additional fields are Width and Height — enter the dimensions of your creative in pixels to match the actual size defined in your index.html.
Kindly note!For HTML5, provide one .zip archive per creative, containing all assets (HTML, CSS, images, JavaScript). The index.html file must be located in the root of the archive, and no external network calls are allowed. See HTML5 Asset Specifications for full requirements.
Backup image creatives are recommended.
3rd Party Ad Tag
Use this option when your creatives are hosted and managed outside the DSP — instead of selecting an image, you paste the Ad Markup provided by your external ad server.
