Happy Birthday Renate!!

 Today is a special day! My friend Renate (Yumi) from Yumi and Fumi Handmade has a birthday today, and we are doing a special birthday celebration in honor of this amazing woman! You can see all the inspiration on the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Blog HERE!!

We surprised her by making a banner with each Design Team Member taking a letter and making one part of the banner. We are mailing each piece to her so she can then string it together and hang up in her own house.

I had the pleasure of meeting Renate at CHA in California a couple of years ago. Since then we've become friends and I have to say she truly is an amazing person! I would like to wish her an amazing birthday and pray for many blessings her way!! You deserve all the best this world has to offer my friend!! LOVE YOU BUNCHES!!

For my piece of the banner today, I'm showcasing the letter "P" and have used the super adorable Bob the Yeti!

 I used various dps that came from Renate in my DT package. The cloud die is from The Greeting Farm. I covered the wood letter "P" with liquid pearls and stickles. The flower and brads were in my stash.

Yumi & Fumi Showcase Thursday~Clouds using Liquid Applique!

Happy Thursday everyone! It's Rosie here to share my latest fun technique/tip of how I've been making my clouds lately on my colored images.

Here's my step-by-step. :)

First, I color up the main part of my image, except the the grass area. Today I'm using Yumi with Birdie from the Peek-a-Boo Spring Collection.

Then I grab B000 (a light blue) and color the entire background in a circular pattern all the way down to where the grass starts. It doesn't have to be full, complete coverage. Lighter areas help give it a more sky appearance.

 

Next, I use this awesome stuff called Liquid Applique and I draw some clouds. You want to be careful to not add a thick layer of Liquid Applique, otherwise you will have some really puffy clouds.

The last step is to grab your heat gun, or in my case, a toaster because I can't find my heat gun, LOL! Heat from underneath the paper until it puffs up. Be careful not to over-heat the Liquid Applique or it will start burning and turning brown.

I hope you enjoy this fun way of making some cute, adorable clouds! It's very addicting!

For my card today, I used Bob the Yeti from Yumi and Fumi. I colored him with Copics and added stickles to the lights. The dps are from Carta Bella WINTER FUN 6x6 paper pad and an old CTMH pack. The snowflake border is from Joy Crafts and the ribbon is from Walmart.

So what's my card making tip for you? Well, you know how hard it can be to get stickles in those little places...like these lightbulbs. So to keep it nice and neat I use a toothpick or the end of a bamboo skewer. You know what's also a great tool? The longer toothpicks that you get in a restaurant burger or slider! I keep those, clean them up when I get home, and they become my stickles tool! :)

This is one of those slider burger toothpicks. The are longer than a regular toothpick so easier to hold.
