Gaming - Wake Island 192?

 This weekend saw the first Partizan of the year . I was with the guys from The League of Extraordinary Kriegspeilers . The game was a imaginary 1920’s fight at Wake Island 

The sea is made of 4 mats from Deepcut 

The set up is all part of Steve Langans wonderful collection 

My Torpedo boat breaches the defences 

The Japanese won the pre invasion game of Battleships in the bar the night before giving them the edge on the day which followed through to an ultimate victory in the day . I was busy all day and didn’t take nigh pictures of this ! 

The show was as busy as ever with epic looking games that had 5 minutes to look  at . I didn’t have a shopping requirement as I am having a bit of a downsize of  stuff for the rest of this year . They did run a table top sale which I took advantage of which has got the downsize project off to a good start and thinned out the lead/plastic pile and the rules that were never getting used .

As usual it was also a good social catch up with various friends . Time to think about The Other Partizan , and what game to do I think

The proper return for social gaming has been great for morale.

Big Napoleonics in Vienna twice this year .

The huge Vietnam game in the summer .

Meeting up with friends at Historicon and gaming then touring ACW battlefields .

7 Days , up and running.

Regular gaming at NRWC - last Sunday of the month all booked in .

Monday gaming sessions all booked in .

Gaming at Pendraken HQ

Gaming with the guys at Hammerhead , Partizan and The Other Partizan

Top up the 10mm ACW to play Antietam .

Run the double  blind ACW Gettysburg campaign .

7 Days to the Rhine campaign completed.

A return to the Sudan - big game now booked in for August . A few new units in the wings .

AWI forces raised to do Bunker Hill with MartinC and IanS.

A visit to the NWF with some new collection stuff .

Build some more aircraft for Nam .

All in all a great 2023 and 2024 with great potential

Gaming - Paper Soldiers and a bit of painting .

Things finally aligned this weekend to meet up with the guys from the local gaming group . We are putting on a demo game at Battleground at the end of November and John wanted a target to get his WSS paper soldiers collection completed and out on the table . 

We set up the main 12x6 with some simple terrain so we could work through the rules on a page stuff that he’d created too .

The French and allies , against the Brits and Allies . 

Pretty sure John has ruined a few pairs of scissors doing the cast of 1000’s . They are all based on MDF based to give a little heft . 

The French carried the day - with some seriously good dice rolling - much to the British commander -John - chagrin. 

The French are putting the Brits under real pressure by the end if the game 

A good play test was had - a few simple tweaks to make and some more paper buildings to add to finish off .

Bren also had his St Nazaire set up out - as it’s getting nearer completion .again this was to do some play testing for a future multiplayer game for us .

I have completed some paint table lurkers to get the brushes moving again - and it’s now all clear ready for a load of 10mm Naps for Gerry and to crack on with my other winter projects .

The Hive Scum hired guns and a random 3d printed sci-fi dog for Necromunda
