Double Doctor Visit

Bostyn and Cannon had doctor's appointments yesterday...at the same time! It was the first time I took them both somewhere by myself. Luckily there was a parking spot right in front so my fears of Bostyn darting out into the parking lot while I toted Cannon didn't happen.

Cannon had his 2 week check up and weighed in at 8lbs 6oz (5oth%). That is 10 ounces more than just a week ago! What a porker! I love that I am going to have a chubby baby! He was 21 inches long (55th%) and his head measured 14.5 inches(70th%-he gets this one from Dad). He is healthy as can be!

Bostyn had her 18 month well check and tipped the scales at 21 lbs.(10th%)! She has grown so much in the past 6 months. She is 30.75 inches tall(25th%) - that's 2 and a half feet! her head measured 18 inches (25th%). She seems huge to me, but according to the pecentages, she is still a runt. She had to get 2 shots and was once again rediculously tough and didn't cry one bit! The nurse even gave her an Otter Pop afterwards. Aside from some exema, she is as well as she can be! The doctor told me to only bathe her twice a week to prevent the dry skin. All I can say to that is GROSS! Two baths a week for a wild toddler?! We'll see how long I can stick with that routine!

I am SO lucky to have 2 healthy kids!

Winters Family Pictures

We took Winters Family pictures this past weekend. It was the first time in a long time. Trying to get 29 people in the same place at the same time is as hard as it sounds! I'm glad we were finally able to do it!

Bostyn at the Zoo

Bostyn got to go to the Zoo for the first time! My mom took her along with my sisters and cousin and their kids. I think they had a pretty good time. I wish I could have been there! Apparently Bostyn is petrified of all animals that aren't dogs! She is screaming in the picture below which explains the look on my mom's face.

Below is a shot o Cannon with his cousin Maylee who is exactly 3 weeks older than him. She weighs 2 pounds less though! They look the same size in this picture, but check out the height difference in the last one!

Cannon's Pregnancy Survey

Again, this is for my journaling purposes. May be long and boring for other readers.

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? -At our home in Queen Creek

2-Who was with you? I was home alone with Bostyn.

3- How did you find out that you were pregnant? Pregnancy test. It was too early for the test to even supposed to work but we had planned this pregnancy and I was anxious. The little pink line didn't show up so I threw it in the trash and decided I would try again in a few days. After like 15 minutes i went back in the bathroom and pulled the test out of the trash and the pink line was there! It was really light but it was there. I took another test later to confirm it to Derek.

4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? I was really excited.

5- Your Husbands reaction? Much more relaxed than the first time!

6- Who was the first person you told? I don't remember for sure. I think my friend Alicia. She asked if I was because she knew I was trying.

7-Did you plan to get pregnant? Yes indeed.

8-Was everybody happy for you? I hope so.

9- Did you go out and celebrate? What does that even mean? How exactly would you celebrate something like that?

10- Did you want to find out the sex? Of course.

11- What was the sex? A Boy!!! Derek was relieved.

12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes.

13- If yes, who? My friend Alicia with the help of my sister and sisters in law.

14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby? Yes. I will not elaborate.

15- How much weight did you gain? 25lbs. Same as the first time!

16- Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? I'm working on it!

17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? Oh Ya! And in a completely different area than the first time. Nice.

18- What did you crave the most? Jack in the Box tacos and lots of them.

19- Did you crave anything crazy? Some might say that fried tacos filled with dog food grade meat IS crazy!

20- Who or what got on your nerves the most? My body. I was SOOO uncomfortable and could not sleep at all.

21- Were you married at the time? Yes indeed!

22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? My good friends nausea and vomit stuck around for the entire pregnancy again. That was about it aside from every pregnancy ailment in the book.

23- Where were you when you went into labor? Home. I had been dilated to a 4 for a week and was at my wits end. I took a tiny bit of castor oil and that finished the job.

24- Did your water break? My doctor broke it when I was dilated to an 8.

26- Did you go early or late? Three weeks early. 37 weeks and 1 day to be exact.

27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Derek, his mom, our sister in law Cadi, and the medical staff.

28- Was it video taped? That was Cadi's job! I'm glad it was taped so I could get a better idea of what was going on!

29- Did you have any drugs for the pain? once again, i got an epidural when I was dilated to an 8. It was just as great as the first time.

30-Did you go Vaginal or have a c-section? Vaginal

31- What was your first reaction after giving birth? They laid him on my stomach. I was expecting to cuddle him close right away or something but all I could do was touch his hand and say, "Gross." Followed by, "Derek, he has your ears!"

32- How big was the baby(s)? 8lbs. 1 oz. 20.5 inches

33- Did your Husband cry? No. I STILL have yet to see him cry.

34- What did you name the baby(s)? Cannon Lynden Winters

35-Did the name have any significance to you? I liked the name Cannon and Lynden is the first 3 letters of each of our Dad's names combined. (Lynn and Dennis)

36-Does the baby's name fit? We sure think so!

37- Did the baby(s) have any complications? You mean other than a serious cone head!? No complications.

38- How old is your baby today? 1 week and 3 days

39- When is the next one(s) coming? In 3 years...

40- If you could would you do it all over again? Like I said, in 3 years!

It Happens... Right?

Cannon is one week old today. We celebrated by locking him and his sister in car! The story goes something like this: I was dropping Derek off at a church building in Mesa to pick up our sister-in-law's car. He got out of the driver's seat and shut the door. I got out of the passenger seat and walked around to get in the driver's seat only to find that the doors were locked. Derek or I must have accidentally hit the lock button. The good news is that the car was running with AC on so there wasn't a fear of overheating. The fire department came to the rescue. I hadn't completely shut the passenger door so it took them 3 seconds to stick the "Slim Jim" through the crack and roll the window down. I was thoroughly embarrassed. Bostyn thought the whole thing was a game, playing peekaboo with everyone looking through the windows at her! Thank you Cadi for capturing such a "special" moment on your camera phone.

So far so good, aside from the whole locked car incident...but anyways, we are enjoying our new addition. He is sweet and lovey. We hope he stays that way!
