Look at me go
I am doing so awesome at blogging. Two posts in a row.
February Highlights:
Derek had a couple of his cousins over to solve an X Box programming issue. As much as I really wanted to stick around for all that action, I opted to take Bostyn to the movies to see Tangled instead. It was a perfect girls night out. The movie was adorable and I shocked my self with an amazing display of self control. I did not eat any popcorn. No big deal you say? For me it is. The popcorn is the reason I go to the movies. Seriously. I even had gift cards and free popcorn certificates. This was huge for me. I seriously wanted to get up and go get some throughout the entire movie. It's hard when you see it and SMELL it for an hour and a half! Okay, enough about the popcorn. Bostyn was in love with Rapunzel and was so sad when her hair got cut at the end. She also spent a good portion of the night letting her theater chair open and close on her like an Ab Lounge. A fun evening all around.
Cannon turned 2 years old on February 24th. For some reason, I have felt like he was 2 for the past year... We got him a Spider-man backpack (he LOVES backpacks and has been carrying a little pink one around for 6 months). We had a birthday breakfast and Grandma and Grandpa Winters did dinner and cupcakes at their house. We may or may not have used his birthday as an excuse to eat at Olive Garden...
Fun facts about Cannon:
He is ALL boy. Not an ounce of estrogen in that little body. He is the rowdiest, messiest boy with a bit of a temper. Heaven help his future wife. He is sitting in time out at this very moment. He runs faster and steadier than any one else his age (that I have seen run of course). And he has serious wrestling skills. I am exited for him to get old enough to be in sports. He needs an energy draining outlet.
He has TONS of personality. He is so funny and so adventurous. He will try anything without a second thought. His bravery level (or crazy level) is off the charts. I am going to be one nervous mom for the next couple of decades. Maybe even longer. My dad and Skylar are the same way. At 21 months old, Cannon sneaked away from a sitters house and was found 30 minutes later a half mile down the road in the arms of a confused farmer.
He is short and thick. Always has been, probably always will be. At 2 years old he is 32.5 inches tall. My Dad is only 5'6" and now that I am thinking about it, has a lot of the same personality traits as Cannon. Hmmm. He will be one tough little dude for sure.
He gives the BEST hugs. He is super strong and squeezes so hard when he wraps his little arms around our necks. He will not go to bed without giving hugs and kisses to everyone.
He is a dancing fool. Whenever he hears music he starts dancing. He just can't help himself. Even if it's just a phone ringing. He also loves to sing and be sung to.
He has been on a twin bed for 3 months, much to my dismay. I wanted him in that crib till he was at least 3...
He is obsessed with airplanes, like his Daddy.
Cannon really is a fun little boy and we love him so much.

Just taking a few calls from loved ones on his birthday :)
Notice the harness? Yes, a leash attaches to that. We only use it when we go on walks. I am convinced it would take him being hit by a car to finally listen when we tell him to stay on the sidewalk.
Other February happenings:
Bostyn said the prayer in Primary. It was her first time and she did awesome! She wasn't scared or shy at all. I was so proud. I was sitting with my primary class so I got to watch from the audience, (yes I watched instead of closing my eyes). Her eyes were wide open as well. She looked like she was giving a talk instead of saying a prayer but that's okay.
I cut my hair...a lot. Like above my shoulders. By the time most of you see me, it will be a lot longer than that. It just grows too fast.
