A Whole Year...Really?
I have been a serious slacker with the ol' blog this year. Our computer crashed...we now have a new one. I should be good to go.
Cannon is ONE today!! The past year really flew by. He is such a good little boy. The past few weeks have been his roughest. He had RSV, a double ear infection, mysteriousley passed out, multiple chest X-rays, blood draws, another double ear infection, and a hideous blistery rash covering his body which was an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. He seems to be doing really well now so I think we are on the up and up...I hope.
There will be no fancy party. I am over it. I think Bostyn's birthday party when she turned one was more of "everyone come celebrate the fact that we kept an infant alive for a whole year!!". One year olds have no clue. All they need is attention. I really think small children feel more special on their birthdays when they get to spend special time with their little family. I'd like to take advantage of that while I can. So until my kids understand the concept of a party, I will save my time, energy, and money. Cannon will get a couple of new toys, a cupcake to smash into, and a sea of balloons to wrestle with in the family room (I found a bag of balloons in my hall closet). It will be the greatest birthday he's ever had :).
Cannon is the definition of a boy. He is wild. If you lay down on the floor, be prepared to wrestle. He won't touch a baby doll. He gravitates towards trucks, things that make noise, and ANYTHING he can flip over or climb on. He has recently become a bit of a snuggle bunny...might have more to do with him being so sick this past month. He is quite the entertainer. If he has a new trick, he is more than happy to share it with you. He likes to make funny noises but has a cute and quiet little giggle. AND....the boy can eat! Anything and everything. He weighs 22.5 lbs (25-50th%). He was so sick for nearly a month and never dropped an ounce. Cannon is SO much fun and we are excited, or maybe just plain scared, to see what kind of toddler he will be!
