BIOGRAPHY

Since he was a teenager, Tom Scott has been consistent, a talented multi-reedist with little or no interest in playing creative jazz. His mother was a pianist and father a composer. Scott early on became a studio musician and arranger. Able to play most reeds with little difficulty, Scott performed with the Don Ellis and Oliver Nelson bands, and his L.A. Express became one of the most successful pop-jazz groups of the 1970s. Associations with Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and George Harrison were just a few of his successful assignments in the pop world and, although his 1992 GRP release Born Again was surprisingly inventive, it was a one-time departure from crossover.

BIOGRAPHY (Paulette McWilliams)
You may not know it, but you have heard her voice many times. She is the voice behind many TV and radio commercials you hear daily such as Folgers, McDonalds, Diet Pepsi (with Britney Spears), Cadillac, Cover Girl, American Express, Celebrex, Master Card, United Airlines, Budweiser and the "Love Jones" by Mercedes and so many more!
Chicago has always produced great musical talent. Paulette McWilliams is no exception to that rule. She started singing before she could talk and even as a child, Paulette amazed her listeners with her rich, low, deep, sultry, velvety tones and an incredibly wide range.
She has quite a long and extensive musical history. In Chicago, Sammy Davis Jr. was one of the first celebrities Paulette met when she was 11 years old.
He guest starred on the Amateur Hour TV show where Paulette competed ... He pulled her aside and told her she was awesome and to keep on her path of singing, although she came in second, she never forgot his impact.
She was the lead singer with Ask Rufus and before she left the group, she introduced her friend Chaka to Ask Rufus to take her place. They sang together for a short period in Ask Rufus and have remained close friends through the years.
Paulette was introduced to Quincy Jones via cassette sent by Phil Upchurch (famous jazz guitarist). Quincy immediately made her his solo/lead singer for his "Body Heat" tour. Quincy introduced her on the "Mellow Madness" album of which she co-wrote the title song. While in Japan, she sang a duet on stage with Sarah Vaughan as Quincy Jones conducted the orchestra. She has recorded and/or sung live duets with Marvin Gaye (on his last tour), Johnny Mathis (2 duets on his album Different Kinda Different) and she sang a solo on Noel Pointer's last CD.
Paulette has sung backups, live on tour for numerous artists. She was one of Bette Midler's famous "Harlettes" and performed all over the world with Bette including 8 weeks on Broadway!! She also toured and recorded with Luther Vandross for over 20 years. She toured and sang all of the Tammi Terrell duets with Marvin Gaye on his last tour... Marvin was going to produce and album on her.
Paulette has recorded with Mary J. Blige as well as appeared with Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill, Celine Dion, Anastacia, Whitney Houston, Patty LaBelle, Deborah Cox, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Dennis Edwards (from The Temptations) and many others. The list goes from A-Z.
Paulette has also performed many times on TV shows like The Oprah Winfrey ShowThe Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, David Letterman, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, Arsenio Hall, Rosie O'Donnell and Good Morning America!! with artists including Luther Vandross, Barry White, Jennifer Lopez, Anita Baker, Mariah Carey.
Awards shows include The Grammy Show with Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson... American Music Awards... In addition, she has recorded on many TV and Movie soundtracks.
Paulette appears in videos for the Emmy award winning PBS children's show, "Between The Lions", and her voice is featured in many of the special segments on that show.
Paulette's first CD entitled "Flow" was recorded and released in Japan on Columbia records with amazing reviews and accolades. She toured and did the Blue Note Tokyo for a week to sold out audiences. She also performed at the Ginza Jazz Festival and added Tom Scott and Nat Adderley Jr. as her guest.
Her newly recently released CD entitled Tom Scott presents Paulette McWilliams "Telling Stories".
Tom, Nat, and Paulette have performed all over the world, performing to sold out audiences in London at Ronnie Scotts 3 times, The Blue Note in Tokyo and in Milan, Duc Des Lombardes in Paris, and some of the Jazz festivals around the world; including the Java Jazz festival, the Monterey Jazz festival, the Ginza Jazz Festival (Tokyo) and the Trinidad Jazz festival, where she performed with Cedar Walton.
Recently Paulette has been doing her own performances all over the world. She is no stranger to New York City where she lived most of her adult life and performed many sold out shows at famous Joes Pub!!
From Bern, Switzerland with the Jazzaar Festival, to the International Jazz Festival in Netherlands with the famous Peter Beets and his amazing brothers.
Also Paulette recently returned for 8th time to Moscow Russia, where they've already making plans for her return again. Performed at the 16th Annual Jazz Journalist Awards in New York City, and the Catalina Club with Nat Adderley Jr. and Karen Briggs.
In addition to being a vocalist/songwriter/actress Paulette has kept up her acting skills by continuing her studies when she is not on the road.
In her past she has studied at Stella Adler in New York and Lee Strasberg in Los Angeles and took improv classes at Goodman School of Drama in Chicago.
So as you can see with all that she's done, Paulette McWilliams feels she's only just begun!!!
