2. Card- Sparkle

Synopsis of the Process:

For both cards, I created the card bases and water colour paper panels using Hexagon Shaped Dies. Then added a few splatters of color and did ink smooshing to create organic looking backgrounds. Then did background stamping using Stampotique Originals Rubber Stamps. The focal elements on both cards are beautiful Stampotique stamps & the sentiments are cut from the  quotes in Quotes #1 Stampotique Stamp.

Thanks a lot for your precious time :)

Post 460: Vintage Mixed Media Card (Inspiration for SDC304- Stampotique Designers Challenge- Number It)

Hi folks!!

I'd like to share a Vintage Mixed Media Card which I made as inspiration for Stampotique Designer's Challenge (SDC) #304- "Number It". I've used wooden numbers here as well as washi tapes with numbers in the background. Please read the rules and do join the challenge with your beautiful creations, there are prizes to be won! For lots more ideas and inspiration, check out the Stampotique Originals Rubberstamps Facebook Group.

I've used Stampotique Originals Rubber stamps: Big Bee- Item no. 3008 & Quotes #1- Item no. 8995 here. For the background I used washi tapes, Prima Finnabair's heavy white & clear gesso, rust paste, distress inks & oxides and wooden numbers. To color the bee, I used watercolors and then added some scribbles and doodles with a white gel pen. To create texture, I added golden net and black thread behind the bee. In the end, I created some ink splatter, matted the panel in black and foam mounted it on a 5 by 7 inch white card base.

Post 455: ATC Coins- Inspiration for Stampotique Designer's Challenge 302

Hi folks!
How are you today ?

Stampotique Stamps has 2 challenges per month and there are awesome prizes up for grabs, so please do read the rules and play along with us. You do not need to have Stampotique stamps to play along, isn't that cool? It's the second week of Stampotique Designer's Challenge- SDC#302 with the theme of ATC Coins.  For all the details, please check out the blog HERE.

In case this is new to you, ATC Coins are essentially 2.5 inch circle versions of ATCs, they are mini pieces of art that crafters and artists trade/swap among each other.

As inspiration for SDC302, I've created 2 sets of ATC Coins. I was inspired by nature. One set is about bees and the other about trees. I created the bases out of 2.5 inch discs of Canson Watercolor paper onto which I smooshed on distress oxides. Then I lightly stamped with stamps from Stampotique's Phrase Cube 4-13038 to create interest in the background. I also did some light background stencilling using AB Studio stencils. Then I stamped on parts of the bee from Stampotique's Big Bee- 3008 and parts of the tree from Stampotique's Majestic Tree- 10034 using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Created some ink splatter with distress oxides and also added some depth with watercoloring & highlights with a white gel pen. Finished by creating some white ink splatter, added sentiments from Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers, scribbled on a border to them & darkened the edges of the atc coins with Jet Black archival ink.

Here are some photos of the ATC Coins:

ATC Coins Set 2: Tree

Thanks a lot for your precious time!

Post 227: CAS Birthday Card

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Birthday Card today. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. I seem to need tons of birthday cards so it is always a good idea to make a few extras :)
Essentially, the background is done by sponging inks through a hexagon stencil. The flower was die cut twice in black and white and adhered slightly off set for a shadowy effect. The smaller negative pieces from the die cut were also lightly colored with distress oxide inks and adhered back into the design. The bee and sentiment were stamped and in the end a few clear drops were added.

List of Supplies:

Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Rectangle Die
Ranger's Distress Oxide Inkpads- Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick
Memento Dye Inkpad- Angel Pink
White Cardstock 250 gsm
Ranger's round blending tool and foams
Hexagon Stencil
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
DCAM clear drops
Glossy Accents
Tombow Mono Multi Glue

Here are a couple of photographs of the card:

Post 220: CAS One Layer Card- Hi!

Hi folks!

Hows your week looking? The weather here has turned quite unpleasant lately. It is humid and so hot. There isn't much one can do except staying indoors, having a lot of liquids and putting on the air conditioning. So I spent many hours crafting and challenged myself to make cas one layer cards. They are quite difficult for me, especially, if I want to keep them totally flat. So no sequins or embellishments.

Today, the first card I'd like to share is a CAS OLC. I was happy to use a couple of never before used supplies: a stamp and stencil. This is slightly smaller than an A2 card so it is 5.25 by 4 inches in size. I basically sponged on distress oxide inks through a hexagon shaped stencil and then heat embossed the sentiment and bee in bright yellow. I kept the color scheme as yellow and black to go with the summery "bee" theme

List of Supplies:

Hexagon Design Stencil
Ranger's Distress Oxide Inkpads- Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade
Ranger's Round Blending Tool and Foams
Versamark Watermark Mini Inkpad
Homemade Emboss Buddy
Ranger's Embossing Powder- Lemon
Ranger's Heat tool

Here are a couple of photographs of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

1. Paper Smooches July Challenge- Anything Goes (I have used a PS stamp here and linked it to the store)
2. I Love Math Challenge #6- Hexagon (I have used a hexagon stencil here)

5. SSS Wednesday Challenge- Summer Sunshine (depicted by the bees and yellow hues)

Thanks for your time.
