Some last minute painting for Cold Wars next week. I had forgotten that I borrowed some Union troops the last time I ran "Sink the Tennessee" at a convention so am filling out the ranks now. I'm very lucky that (i) the Perry Brothers have very fast mail order delivery and (ii) I didn't discover this shortfall while packing up the day before the con.
That last point has happened for other games.
This blog will will contain my rather pedantic ramblings on my experiences within the miniature war gaming hobby. There will be informative how-to’s, thrilling battle reports and thought provoking editorials. I fully expect that history will one day view the contents of this blog on par with Homer’s Illiad or Newton’s Principalia. Or it's a complete waste of time.

More Analogues Hobbies Stuff
Two different groups of troops this time. First up are some reinforcements for my DAK armies in the form of DAK infantry, some FJ's and armor.
A Rubicon plastic Panzer IV - really can't recommend Rubicon models any more highly.
My second box of plastic Perry DAK infantry
A Panzer II from Warlord
Warlords plastic FJ's - really like this box also
An Italian armored car - I still need to paint up some Italian Paratroopres
And a SKDz 222 also from Warlord
The next submission is more fantasy oriented with 20 crewman from the new Ghost Archipelago Box set
And 5 plastic Barbarians from Frostgrave
The whole group

The following are a set of pics of the stuff I finished in the last weeks of the Challenge, excluding the last weekend

A US infantry regiment from the War of 1812 (Brigade games)
Some insurgents and modern Aussies from Empress miniatures

AHPC VII: WW2 Italians, LRDG Infantry and Allied Transport
Next up for the Challenge is a nice sized Italian force, some LRDG infantry and 2 Allied transports.
The Italians are all Perry miniatures with the exception of the M13/40 tank which is from Blitzkrieg Miniatures
Half of the Italians are in desert uniforms and half regular to give me a little flexibility on the table top.
I really like how the tank came out.
The CV-35 Tankette is a metal cast from Perry. It really wasn't that effective in the field but it will be fun to zoom around on the table.
It really is small!
An Elephantino light AT gun
Some Aliied transport - these are from Trenchworx and are superb kits
Lastly a group of 12 Dismounted LRDG troopers. The A rePerry metals
As fate would have it, my wargaming "Secret Santa" sent me another 2 boxes of these dudes so they will soon be joined by 12 other compatriots.

Mummies, Afghans, LRDG, Big Monsters - More Challenge entries
Another big photo dump from the Challenge
Some dungeon baddies
The mummies are Reaper Bones figures and I really can't recommend them - way to bendy
Modern Afghans from Empress Miniatures - superb figures
LRDG vehicles from Perry
Dungeon monters - these are reaper figures also but much more fun to paint. The Bones material works very well with larger figures.
Frostgrave Demons
Action shot - you might see something like this as Historicon 2017
