Two different groups of troops this time. First up are some reinforcements for my DAK armies in the form of DAK infantry, some FJ's and armor.
A Rubicon plastic Panzer IV - really can't recommend Rubicon models any more highly.
My second box of plastic Perry DAK infantry
A Panzer II from Warlord
Warlords plastic FJ's - really like this box also
An Italian armored car - I still need to paint up some Italian Paratroopres
And a SKDz 222 also from Warlord
The next submission is more fantasy oriented with 20 crewman from the new Ghost Archipelago Box set
And 5 plastic Barbarians from Frostgrave
The whole group
This blog will will contain my rather pedantic ramblings on my experiences within the miniature war gaming hobby. There will be informative how-to’s, thrilling battle reports and thought provoking editorials. I fully expect that history will one day view the contents of this blog on par with Homer’s Illiad or Newton’s Principalia. Or it's a complete waste of time.

Analogue Hobbies Challenge VIII: First Submission
My first entry for this year's challenge was done early in the morning and managed to be the first entry. I went with a Russian tank as they're pretty easy to paint up fast.
This model is a plastic kit from Warlord and I highly recommend it.
It comes with two complete turret options to make either a KV-1 (first two pictures) or a ....
KV-2!!!! - one of my favorite tanks from WW2.
The kit also comes with 8 28mm plastic Russian infantry figures. If you've ever played Russians, you know one can never have enough infantry!
A fun kit to build and paint up!

Challenge VII: The Last Day's posts
I submitted the following on the last day of the Challenge - a Winter themed late war German army and some odds-n-ends at the bottom of what remaining of my leadpile.
The Winter germans are are Warlord figures including the Stug (one of the Italiarie plastic kits)
The metal figures were superb and a lot of fun to paint
The plastic Stug really wasn't a fun kit to build but still painted up well
I went with the 105mm variety
A shot with the JagdTiger
A group of 12 plastic US Marines from Warlord and their ride a LVTP. I've now done WW@ marines and LVTP's in two scales this challenge (12 and 28)
A pair of WW1 vehicles from Trenchworx
Ans 2 dinosaurs - a baby T-Rax and a Utah-Raptor
What Challenge is complete without Dinosaurs?

Analogue Hobbies Challenge: Modern Russians and Brits plus some Chindits
I'm starting to get back into "high production" mode for the Challenge. With this group I've completed all the figures I need for this years Historicon games.
16 Modern Russian infantry from Empress miniatures. Wonderfully sculpted minis.
A group of 10 Warlord Chindits. I'm sorry to say the casting quality of these figures was really awful. They came out alright but required a lot of clean up.
Lastly a largish group of British infantry - 20 regular infantry and
8 SAS operators.
Like the Russians, these figures are from Empress and are truly superb.

AHPC VI: A ship and a Greyhound
Not a lot of painting was done this week - as ingle 1/1200 scale Langton third rate and a 28mm M8 Greyhound armored car.
I present to you the USS Columbus a 74 gun third rate that was launched in 1819 and joins my small but powerful US fleet for some "what-if" gaming
The rigging is minimal as it just doesn't hold up that well on the table top.
A M8 Greyhound for Warlord games. Some of the metal detail parts were horribly cast so I couldn't use them. Instead I made some sand bags to cover up where the mangled headlights should have gone.
Not a huge submission but at least it was something...

Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge: Submissions 11-15 - Blizzard induced productivity
A bit of a points bomb over this weekend due to being housebound from 30 inches of snow - 5 submissions and 4 different time periods.
First up 9 civilians from the 28mm Perry AWI line. I'll be using these as dock workers during the upcoming Historicon game this summer.
Some German support weapons in 28mm. All the figures are from Warlord's Bolt Action line and there's an 81mm mortar, a MG42 (gotta have one of those!) and a Fallschirmjager 105mm recoilless artillery piece.
A bit more WW2 in the form of three AFV's from three manufacturers. A Warlord BA-10 armored car, a 3D printing panzer IV from RPG and a Hungarian assault gun from Mad Bob Miniatures.
Switching periods - a 32 figure Portuguese regular infantry unit in 28mm from Frank Rank Miniatures. I really like Front Rank and am begging to think the quality of their metals is a bit better than the Perry's. They centennially are much easier to clean up. The completion of this unit finishes up what I need to put on the game at Historicon.
The last submission is just for fun - another armored War Elephant from Sgt Major Miniatures. That brings my collection of allies to 4 and I should add building out a successors army to the to do list.
Next up for the challenge is the defensive terrain bonus round - so I got out my handy Proxxon Hot wire cutter and got to work. What will this entry be?
You'll just have to wait and see......
