I submitted the following on the last day of the Challenge - a Winter themed late war German army and some odds-n-ends at the bottom of what remaining of my leadpile.
The Winter germans are are Warlord figures including the Stug (one of the Italiarie plastic kits)
The metal figures were superb and a lot of fun to paint
The plastic Stug really wasn't a fun kit to build but still painted up well
I went with the 105mm variety
A shot with the JagdTiger
A group of 12 plastic US Marines from Warlord and their ride a LVTP. I've now done WW@ marines and LVTP's in two scales this challenge (12 and 28)
A pair of WW1 vehicles from Trenchworx
Ans 2 dinosaurs - a baby T-Rax and a Utah-Raptor
What Challenge is complete without Dinosaurs?
This blog will will contain my rather pedantic ramblings on my experiences within the miniature war gaming hobby. There will be informative how-to’s, thrilling battle reports and thought provoking editorials. I fully expect that history will one day view the contents of this blog on par with Homer’s Illiad or Newton’s Principalia. Or it's a complete waste of time.

Trenchworx JagdTiger
My last tank from the Trenchworx "Tanks of the Western Front" kickstarter is a massive JagdTiger. I've never done a winter themed army so wanted to give is a go with this beastie.
I also created my own "secret recipe for mud" which I think came out rather nicely. The mud mix is a concoction of Liquitex flexible modeling paste, some Vallejo paint and fine cherrywood saw dust from my workshop. Why cherry wood, because it's what I had on hand.
The winter-white wash was a lot simpler - base coat the tank German Field Grey and then use a stippling motion to apply the white - I did use a sort of dry brushing technique to take mot of the paint off the brush before applying to the tank.
I think it came out rather nicely. I really wish I had loaded up on more of the Trenchworx's Western front kickstarter but their website isn't that far away. Hey wait a minute here's a link - you should go there now!
Maybe, one day if we're all good they do a tanks of the Western Desert or Tanks of the Pacific campaign. Maybe.....
:)

AHPC VII: WW2 Italians, LRDG Infantry and Allied Transport
Next up for the Challenge is a nice sized Italian force, some LRDG infantry and 2 Allied transports.
The Italians are all Perry miniatures with the exception of the M13/40 tank which is from Blitzkrieg Miniatures
Half of the Italians are in desert uniforms and half regular to give me a little flexibility on the table top.
I really like how the tank came out.
The CV-35 Tankette is a metal cast from Perry. It really wasn't that effective in the field but it will be fun to zoom around on the table.
It really is small!
An Elephantino light AT gun
Some Aliied transport - these are from Trenchworx and are superb kits
Lastly a group of 12 Dismounted LRDG troopers. The A rePerry metals
As fate would have it, my wargaming "Secret Santa" sent me another 2 boxes of these dudes so they will soon be joined by 12 other compatriots.

AHPC VII: First 2 Submissions
The challenge is on! My first two submissions are in 28mm scale WW2 themes.
First is a 76MM m4 Sherman from Trenchworx. It's just a superb model and a joy to paint.
Next up, a small force of French Foreign Legion with some aging armored support in the form of an old FT-17. The figures are from the Perry line and are wonderful sculpts but required a good bit of effort in the clean up. The tank is another Trenchworx kit and (again) is just superb. You may not have noticed but I've become a huge fan of Trenchworx and the quality product they put out.
Back to the painting workbench....
